Last year I developed hip pain climbing the stairs. I only experienced the pain climbing stairs. I went to physical therapy for 2 months doing a variety of exercises which did improve it somewhat, but a little pain was still there. I saw a TH-cam video that said going to sleep with a pillow between your legs will help your back. In my mind, this was totally unrelated to the hip pain but I did want to take care of my back as well. I dismissed the video because I knew that as soon as I fell asleep, I would lose the pillow between my legs. Then I saw an ad for a leg pillow contoured to your legs and also had a strap to keep it in place. I ordered one, thinking it would be good for my back, but the very first night of using it, dramatically my hip pain disappeared. I have been using the leg pillow since last April (now December) and the hip pain has never returned. My conclusion is that the way I was positioning my legs when I slept caused the hip pain when climbing stairs and the leg pillow helped put my legs back into a better sleeping position. I am 75. My physical therapist was very interested when I told him the news.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm not sure if this is the video you saw ( th-cam.com/video/VSCcd2zEvdY/w-d-xo.html ), but I do recommend the contour pillow for people who have hip pain.
I’ve watched so many videos to help me with this problem. This is the only one that actually helps. Thank you. Will practice. Finally I have hope. Thanks.
