I get so emotional watching these behind the scenes. I never realized how integral Ghostbusters was to my childhood until recently. I grew up watching a vhs recording from network television dozens of times and loved watching the cartoon on Saturday mornings. My kids are at the same age i was when when first movies came out and they are super excited to see the next one. All this to say I'm so thankful Adam is taking us behind the scenes so we can see the passion and reverence the new generation is giving to the franchise.
As someone who is still in my child/teenagehood, I get emotional watching these things knowing how much joy it brings me but also that I will never be able to experience this for the first time ever again
I love how this feels like a conversation between two friends or at the very least two people who know each other and not just two people dropped together for the sake of a promo.
I'm not ashamed to say I cried like a baby watching this video. 40 years ago little did I know my life would be changed. Ghostbusters set me on a path to being a paranormal investigator and part of the Great Lakes Ghostbusters Coalition and the Kalamazoo Ghostbusters with my dear friend and their founder, Danny Holroyd. The look in today's kids eyes when they see us in our uniforms, or see the group's Ecto's at movie premiers or parades..even just the Ecto siren helps me to remember when I was 15 years old and how the fascination of this movie AND the paranormal exploded in me. Thank you Adam for doing this.
Jason carried on his Dad's name in a way that nobody thought we'd ever get to appreciate again. Seeing something as iconic to a lot of us as Ghostbusters revived as a modern day franchise is almost surreal.
Here's Adam living our dream life again. Thanks for taking us along it's beyond amazing to get to see all these details. I enjoy how excited you get and it feels great to know someone out there is just as excited about set design, costume design, prop aging, and all the little things we don't get to see in a movie.
Ghostbusters has to be my best cinema experience, the whole place burst out in song once the theme started, we were screaming it the whole way through, my dad must have been deaf that night with four kids singing 'Ghostbusters' the whole way home.Seeing the ghost of Spengler in the latest one brought a tear to my eye, what a talent taken too soon Ramis was.
Mckenna Grace is a damn national treasure. She's so excited and invested in this part. That's really awesome to see. That level of enthusiasm for this kind of work is what makes great movies.
This is so amazing. Listening to Jason talk about walking into the firehouse for the first time, and his memories associated with it, really choked me up. I'm so glad you were able to film this.
I am a lover of Ghostbusters since I was 4 years old. And I think about references in the Ghostbusters movies all the time. There is literally no week since since my childhood that I don‘t think about Ghostbusters. Cheers from Germany
Great to see a movie being made by people who clearly love what they're doing, and are deeply connected to the source material. Can't wait to watch the movie!

McKenna is infectiously enthusiastic. Plenty of actors can do a job and do it well without that level of enthusiasm but it is nice to see how much she obviously enjoys the job.
I LOVE how excited McKenna Grace is, she's so happy to be there. I also adore Jason Reitman, arguably the OG ghostbusters fan. I hope they didn't tear this set down when filming completed, although it most likely was sadly. Adam, you're living the dream man.
Oh man, what a dream to walk on this set with Jason and just talk about Ghostbusters. I HOPE someone does a walk through with Dan, Bill, Ernie and Annie and record anecdotes about their experiences in the Firehouse for Ghostbusters 1, 2 and Frozen Empire. Thanks Adam!
For those that can't be there. Like myself. This is just an awesome walk through. We would all love to walk through that set. The feel like you're a part of it. And in some way it's actually real.
I wouldn't say it's a fictional location because the firehouse does exist. It's in New York City. The interiors did however, exist, but in l. A at another firehouse that is now being turned into a museum piece for the history of that fire. Or something that's what I heard but because they were able to build the firehouse as depicted in the movies in both the first and second ghostbuster film Means that they took Both firehouses and actually made the real life firehouse. Depicted in the movies.
I love that chemistry overall there. And to be honest... small role, even for 1 minute or so for Adam as the old "uncle" / "grandad" of McKenna Grace who brings some ideas and solutions into the movie would be an awesome appreciation to all of them :)))
Nicely demonstrates why the movies are in such good hands with Jason, he really gets the essence of what his dad and the others forged back then. And casting McKenna was a stroke of genius. Just like him, she's the ultimate best case to happen to the new era of the franchise.
Right in my childhood feels. I saw the original Ghostbusters in the theatre 12 times when I was a kid, you can say I have been a fan for a very long time.
I’d love to see a similar video where they get the reaction of Dan Akroyd , Ernie Hudson or Bill Murray. More Dan bc I’d imagine Bill would just be aloof about the whole thing.
Adam, Thank you for the videos you're sharing from this universe. I know it's part of the film's marketing push, although I don't know if there was monetary compensation given to you, but at the end of the day I don't care. Getting to see this world through your eyes, both as a maker, and as a fan, is very special and I truly appreciate you and the special treat of getting to see things through your eyes.
I really appreciate what mr Reitman says about production design. Back when i was a movie student learning character and production design, our teacher would told us about the narrative part of the process. Mixed with my prior architectural studies it served me well in the design of virtual sets and the aappreciation for those minute details that make them both realistic and "lived in"!
Same! Game Designer/Technical Systems Developer in the video game industry here, and back during my early level design days, I remember being taught that we had to make things like park picnic tables etc. that not only functioned and held their weight/shape when physics was applied, but also were worn, weathered, and honestly “crappy” enough to look “lived in” and used, with the illusion that they used to be pristine. It couldn’t be too good OR too bad. Holes, deformation, warping, but still safe enough to sit on (and again, holding realistic weight with actual physics sims) so in some ways similar to architectural engineering/design, like you mentioned…except your architectural studios were likely certainly more intense! 😊
It is really great to see a director that is so invested in making a quality movie that pays homage to the original because they are so invested in it! You can tell this is really special to him because of the connection he has to everything through his dad.
I'm amazed they built the set out so completely. Merging not just the NYC exterior with the LA interiors but fleshing out all the spaces we only glimpsed in other films.
Thank you so much for this upload! I'm 40 and Ghostbusters was the first franchise and movie I truly remember loving. Saw the first movie in 87, when it was the Thursday night movie on TV, and have been hooked since. I fantatical about Star Wars and Star Trek, but Ghostbusters holds a very special place in my heart. If I was in Adam's shoes, I'd be the exact same way. I can't wait to see more of these uploads! Again, thanks so much!!!! ❤❤❤
This franchise has been a part of my entire life, so every time we seen behind the scenes like this or talk with Jason it really hits me. I lost my own father going on 5 years ago now, so I think it just really reminds me of those simpler times in my childhood when he was still here. And I'll admit, I still get teary and choked up from it, but I also get to remember those happy moments.
I loved every part of this! Everyone's genuine love for everything "Ghostbusters". The way they made the firehouse feel like a museum. McKenna fangirling over their interview and them fanboying back over having her in the interview was just amazing.
I remember seeing an Ecto 1 from the interstate for the longest time in Huntsville, Al. I also love that this is a soundstage set and not all CGI. ❤ Thanks for sharing Adam.
I saw Ghostbusters in 1984 as a child the Firehouse has such a special place in my heart, I love seeing it now brought back for this new film, I can't wait for this film Afterlife felt like a continuation I hope we are going to see more behind the scenes from Adam... This is great!
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that they went and built the whole firehouse on a soundstage, not just combining two different IRL locations into one but making it so that they don't have to disrupt the real-life operations of the still-operational Hook & Ladder 8?
I REALLY love the access Adam has to these movies and other things. Considering no one wants is owning physical media anymore, feature on the physical media are also lacking lately. Thanks for these behind the scenes.
This is wonderful. Seeing the firehouse here seems so comfortable, very nostalgic for a lot of us. I also love Jason's enthusiasm and love for the franchise. Very excited for the new movie!
I have not been to a movie theater since the last Hobbit movie, but…I am going to seen this on the big screen. With this much respect, enthusiasm, care, history and love. It would be criminal not to see this in all its glory. I hope Adam got a cameo in it.
These are hands down my favourite videos on tested. I would go to a theatre just to watch these amazing behind the scenes snippets. Just beautiful art in the way the film was meant to be created.
With the last movie and this one upcoming, I just love how there's a concerted, prideful yet loving, effort to match the Ghostbusters of the 80's, without it feeling like just a nostalgia grab.

McKenna's excitement was super cute. The set looked awesome!
that was awesome! McKenna was so sweet and grateful to be there. they picked an amazing person to continue the ghostbusters story.
12:21 "If you ever want to safely electrocute an actor I can help" 😂
Im sure he had a vivid flashback of the build team shocking the piss outta him
I'm investigating the effect of negative reinforcement on actors ability
@@adamscott7354 The effects?! I'll tell you what the effect is! It's pissing me off!
@@ChuckM0503 Well then maybe my theory is correct!
@@adamscott7354 You can keep the 5 bucks, I've had it!
Mind blown, fantastic behind the scenes. Can't wait to see the new movie and will have to rewatch the original Ghostbusters now
This franchise has been a part of my entire life, so every time we seen behind the scenes like this or talk with Jason it really hits me.
I lost my own father going on 5 years ago now, so I think it just really reminds me of those simpler times in my childhood when he was still here.
And I'll admit, I still get teary and choked up from it, but I also get to remember those happy moments.
McKenna Grace just showing up was nice surprise! The way she was so shy was toooo cute ☺
Awesome experience for all of us who would never get the chance to do this!!!
So much history with the franchise ❤❤
Thst is an awesome experience. McKenna is such a perfect spengler
Awesome!! How many times have we dreamt we were in this building over the past 40 years!
That pack locker is ALL the chef's kisses.
Loved Afterlife, especially Dan Aykroyd saying,we're from the home office, can't wait to see Frozen Empire!💘💘💘
McKenna Grace seems like the sweetest kid. Her Parents raised her right.
The filled-up holes from the Containment Unit shutdown back in '84 has to be one of the most awesome details ever!
Fantastic! Thank you Adam and thank you Mr. Reitman! Ms. Grace is pretty darn awesome! 🙂
Just saw GB:FE and really enjoyed it. Another nostalgic trip to my childhood with a fun mix of a new generation.
Seeing Egon's name on the locker hit me right in the feels. Love you Harold. ❣
This is wonderful. Seeing the firehouse here seems so comfortable, very nostalgic for a lot of us. I also love Jason's enthusiasm and love for the franchise. Very excited for the new movie!
Ok after watching this I'm excited to watch McKenna grow as an actor. She's so great
She has been acting since she was 4,she's already a powerhouse. Have you watched Gifted or her role in A Handmaid's Tale?
The genuine delight when McKenna/Adam see each other is something that can't be faked. Never change, either of you.
OMG. I can't wait for this movie next week!
Every time I watch one of your videos Adam I get more and more jealous of you. This one has tipped me over the edge!! What an incredible set!!
I’m so glad Jason live his source material. Bro spent a minute talking about the Easter eggs of the FLOOR. That’s how passionate he is!
That set is beautiful.
I have not been to a movie theater since the last Hobbit movie, but…I am going to seen this on the big screen. With this much respect, enthusiasm, care, history and love. It would be criminal not to see this in all its glory. I hope Adam got a cameo in it.
Grace is so lovely!
This is unreal, the details are incredible, I'm beyond excited for this. Brilliant video Adam 👍
Amazing set. Looking forward to seeing the new film
Can’t wait for the movie. You. Can tell when everyone involved is in love with the lore.
I don't think Mckenna could have smiled more when they were talking. (So Cute)!
