Adam Savage’s could be one of the Ghostbusters characters in the movie, he has the charisma and personality similar to the originals.
He would be the new Ray Stantz for his technical knowledge.
So excited to see Adam at Fan Expo next week. He is my cosplay hero and has been my inspiration with so many projects.

@@Tobester_McDonkey this isn’t the post for this man, let it go, you have your beliefs and everyone else has theirs, I personally mask up EVERYWHERE and I’m fully vaccinated, it’s not about whether you feel like they work or not I personally do, while at the same time not wanting to put others at risk, nothing is 100% but you can take measures to lessen the chances someone else may get sick and possibly die, which a high school friend of mine just lost his sister to Covid a few weeks ago, I don’t know if she wore a mask, or if she was vaccinated but the fact is she died from this disease that is very much real and out there, so let him protect himself, let me protect myself, whether you do or not.

The kid actors geeking about Adams build is the best part
that is the cherry on top.
It's a toss up between the kids geeking out over Adam's build and him hanging out with the group of other Ghostbusters for me. Though, seeing the people who handled and got to see the actual movie props up close and personal for weeks at a time be that thoroughly impressed with Adam's craftsmanship does slightly edge that reaction a little higher, but only just.

After proper, in-person cons not being a thing for so long, Adam is starting people off with an easy one.
With very little covering his face, the hair and glasses are unmistakable to a fan
This NYCC was one of the easiest to walk around I'd experienced in years so Adam would have had very little worry about crowding even when people noticed him.
To be fair, all you need to do is find the most amazing costume and its him lol
Adam, don't erase memories of first builds, without those builds you would not have known to make new adjustments, for someone like you, a perfectionist, it is a perfect opportunity to go back to the drawing board and make it perfect!

Exactly! I make knives, and I have my first (pretty bad😂) knife hung up on the wall of my shop. When I get discouraged with my work I like to look at it to remind me how far I've come.

We need our firsts to act as a measure to gauge how far we've advanced and improved in whatever endeavor we're pursuing, whether it's cosplay props, making knives, drawing, making movies, hell even just playing video games (going back to the first level or area after fully upgrading is often very satisfying). I've tried my hand at making several different things that were out of my comfort zone or expertise, and the first tries are almost always disastrous, but like JustCall MeAvi said, it's in figuring out what we did wrong that we learn to do it right.

Reminds of when Adam joined up with a group of Judge Dredd's at a con. And the guy organizing the group only realizing who he was after a long while. XD Adam had a Judge Badge with Savage on it.
It does make me wonder if someone should organise a "cosplay as Adam Savage" convention group. Have, like, 30-40 people showing up cosplaying as Adam cosplaying as whatever, including "Savage" name badges et al. ;-] His reaction would be glorious. And, of course, having him in the middle of them would make him almost invisible... almost.

Anytime a costume is supposed to have a name on it, he always puts his own name on it.

First movie in maybe a decade I am excited about.
He did the same thing back in 2019 with the FincherTech fan-built VG pack at Fan Fest, even calling out when they had used a different colored wire from the movies.
The guy isn't bullshitting about being deep into Ghostbusters and I trust him implicitly.

Knowing how much Adam Loves his props he'd have to have made it very touchable. Something that cool, you want to play with it.

Facts!

2 decades ago, Adam would make all that work in post-production special effects. Now, he is making it work with practical effects. Next year, he makes it FOR REAL!
"If we make another Ghostbusters, we have to remember to do that. It would be so much easier." My guess is the kids want Adam to do the on-set practical effects for the next movie.
Heck, even just ten years ago that'd have gotten some skeptical looks as that tech was just out of reach for the average consumer.
Still get that today. It seems a pretty fair split between knowing it's doable by anyone and knowing it's only doable by factories. Run into the latter far too much but that's just my luck.

Adam, I just love how you are so personable and friendly to other con goers. You truely are a wonderful human being and a great representative of the nerd/geek community.
That's my main takeaway watching the video. Adam is just a good dude, period.
I liked the part where he wore a mask to interact with the plebs on the floor. But the Hollywood elite was all hugs and face to face interviews with no mask. Really puts it in perspective.

The joy you obviously felt when the actual crew got to obsess over you’re weeks of work and years of planning and thought about your kit was an absolute pleasure to watch. Yes! That's what I wasn't able to articulate fully in a different comment - they're showing their own geeky fandom by fawning over the pack and other gadgets the way they did, and that's a very positive sign that they actually cared about this movie and didn't treat it as just a paycheck like the reboot actors.

If a person could win a Nobel prize for making people happy, Adam would win every year. Maybe twice a year. These videos of him meeting normal humans (not celebrities) show how genuine he is. One of my absolute favorite TV and TH-cam personalities.

Oh this makes me miss cons so much. The feeling of community - walking in and knowing you're among your people, nerding out about each other's costumes, the mutual appreciation of each other's commitment to the same nerddoms. Watching everyone react to your costume and you react to eveyrone else, seeing the Jason and the cast nerd out over your pack is amazing. I have to admit that the Proton pack is my holy grail prop, but I'm half afraid to start it because I know how much of a rabbit hole that is to go down.
it's definitely a journey...I have a customized Spirit pack and I love it to death. Gonna build a full size in the future.

@@barneymiller7894 I agree, but starting on something like that is a bit like skydiving - the hardest part is jumping out of the plane (in this case, the "plane" being their comfort zone).
This was probably the most natural Adam has been at a Con. I kind feel sorry for him being mobbed or swarmed, then I watch his reactions and interactions with fellow cosplayers and it’s so genuine! He loves it! They love it! And it inspires me to build better props and take it to the next level! Thank you, Adam!!!
It’s funny, at a con almost anyone can be mobbed like Adam with the right costume. It’s why so many of us are addicted to it. It’s a chance to be a celebrity for a day… because of your obsession. And who wouldn’t want that?

That would make for an interesting side business, you wouldn't charge much, because you'd get to dress up and pretend to remove the monsters and ghosts from a kid's bedroom and make them and their parents feel better. It would also make for an interesting movie, where someone does this as a job and ends up actually finding some real ghosts (funny/silly ghosts like Monsters Inc. not sad or creepy ones).

What I love about these videos is the absolute love and appreciation Adam has for his fans and people. It's great to see such enthusiasm for being a mentor and role model for so many future scientists.
I use Mythbusters in class for Driver's Ed. So many good episodes addressing traffic, driving and the related topics. I'd love to see a compilation of them all.
I really want Adam to meet my old instructor Mick Volmar, he's a fabricator and specializes in restoring vintage Porsches but they really are the same type of person. So happy to help others learn and advance!
I used to work the graveyard shift at a hotel and often had people come in who felt embarrassed that they were too tired to keep driving, so I'd refer back to the sleepy vs drunk driving test Mythbusters did so they'd feel better about making the right decision. I'd often give them a nice discount to take the sting out of paying that much to only stay in the room for 6 or 7 hours.

I love it how Jason, even tho he's the SON OF IVAN REITMAN & DIRECTOR of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, still shows his geeky side and becomes a kid again loving the props and being a fan when it comes to this. Jason truly was the perfect person to pass the torch to.

THIS is what makes me excited for this new Ghostbusters movie. Everyone involved is passionate about the franchise, the story, the lore and the original movies, especially treating the memory of Harold Ramis with reverence and dignity. I can't wait to see Afterlife!

I've always felt that Ramis adlibbed that line and that Akroyd and Murray's reactions were 100% genuine. I don't care if I'm wrong, it makes my heart happy to think that's how that happened.
Phenomenal! One of my favorite videos so far. I know Adam loves accuracy in his costumes, but he shouldn't be so down on "inaccurate" depictions he's made in the past. I think a lot of folks are inspired by what he does, and it's tough to make things super accurate. Kids, and those just delving into cosplay might be discouraged to create if they feel that there's something wrong with creating approximations instead of recreations.
As the old expression goes, "We tend to be our own harshest critics." Of course what he said about himself he would never say about another fan's efforts.

What is amazing Adam is that you've got the walk and look around down pat. When you're walking through the con it looks like you're "on the job" hunting ghosts in the middle of a plaza, its not the framing either, the walk and look stand out ;)
What an awesome looking outfit! Love all the attention to detail, as well as the extra bits you added in! The reaction when the cast of the new film were checking out your gear was priceless! Though, one tiny bit was annoying me... Adam, you never flipped around your right shoulder strap, it was backwards the whole time! XD

The switch needs to play the “power up” sound!!!
Perhaps in the next iteration he can add a small sound chip and fit a decent sized speaker into the pack.
I kept thinking that too. The pack is breathtaking as is but my how that sound would wrap it all up and bring it home for me.
I hear a power up sound here at 3:20 I don't know if they added that into post production or if that was caught on camera. But agree the sound just makes it right.
Adam just seems like the nicest guy ever to meet on a convention floor. If I ever get the chance to meet him, I know it will be an awesome day.

So cool! but I was yelling at the screen, "Your right shoulder strap is twisted around!!!!" The "guts" of the cyclotron are magnificent! That WILL be part of my next pack build! Anything GB is already so recognizable and popular, I can't imagine what it's going to be like after the new movie comes out!

It's not even about the inaccuracy of the shoulder strap, it's that he has all that comfortable padding and he's not using it! I hope his shoulder wasn't too sore after wearing the pack for so long, I know how tiring it can be 😅

So happy with this movie. I watched it with my wife and daughter. It was nostalgic, creative, funny and we loved it. It made up for the last Ghostbusters train wreck. Congratulations to everyone involved. 10 out of 10
Seeing how much geeky fun you were having, and how patient you were with taking photos with every single person who asked was just wonderful. I cry easy, and yeah, you brought a happy tear to my eye.
It's okay, I don't cry very easy and I still had happy tears rolling down my cheeks throughout most of this video - it's just such a beautiful example of the humility and humanity that Adam represents and that we should all strive to be more like.

Adam Savage is by far the prime example of why we should never outgrow our inner child. Love seeing him so giddy about this stuff.....man is truly happy and enjoying life.
An "incognito" cosplay is less effective when you have a big patch that says "SAVAGE" on the breast of the jumpsuit.
Also, the right strap being twisted backwards drove me just a little nuts during this video! Is that an intentional touch, or was it simply not noticed when you it was put on?

Id like to see David Cross, Kristen Schaal, Adam Savage, Ken Jeong and Don Cheadle play Ghostbusters. You have to have the perfect mix of comedy, nonchalance and seriousness.
That is a very good mix, I agree. I'd pay premium money to see a Ghostbusters movie with that cast.
I can remember when special effects were hard. Now off the shelf gadgets and a tiny bit of coding means anyone can do this stuff if they find the right tutorial and information.
I just wanna say, we hear a lot about how good people are to work with and the experiences Adam has had but i think its worth mentiomimg that Adam is a great guy, at this point he's going around cons just making people's days and being super friendly with them its really nice to see :)
