Is the Matsuri Brisbane event any good? | Food / Swordsmen / Okinawa Taiko Demonstrations | 2024

Matsuri is Japanese-specific event that has apparently made its way to a place in Brisbane, yearly...which I did not know about. I finally went up there to see it thanks to my girlfriend finding out about it. To my surprise, the event was actually decent, if you discount the general Australian scenery. Everything was JAPANESE THEMED, including the food. Japanese people were working there, and japanese people were attending. A true event for japanese people in Brisbane. Gold Coast cannot handle something like this. They barely were able to handle a Chinese New Year without mixing cultures - which I'm not saying is inherently a bad thing (I come from the melting pot of the world), but when you make an event for a culture, you're going to the event for that culture. So stop mixing cultures around when it's not inherent to that type of event. Anyway, I'd highly recommend this event if you're into japanese culture, it was actually worth it.
