First of all, yeah, iOS 18 is a battery drainer, particularly in the first few days of updating. Secondly, yes, I think the camera can do that to the battery, especially considering you’re on iOS 18 now 🙃

Yeah, there was a new graph color introducing iOS 18. That shows an orange color. If your charger is slow at charging your phone. If you upgrade your charger, you can recharge more efficiently and you’ll see the green charging color 😄

That’s probably roughly what it’ll do. Indexing just continues constantly in the background so whatever it does just runs down the battery continuously. But it should clear up pretty quick. Duration may depend on your storage space too. I have the smallest amount of storage and mine finished pretty quick. Probably a day or two

I only have an iPhone 14 Pro now so I can’t give an accurate estimate. However, iPhone 15 models have double the durability, in terms of how long they should last over 500 cycles. That is technically in terms of its health, but its health relates to the level of power the battery can output. If it doesn’t improve, I’d say get it checked out. It should last at least 4 more hours for you, give or take an hour

After the iOS 18 update, your phone will have started indexing again, that’s what mine did as well and I believe everyone else’s too. 30 minutes however sounds extreme so I’d say in THAT scenario something is wrong

My laptop is the 16” MacBook Pro M1. You’ll be able to find the dimensions easily on apples website :) it’s not too big for a 16” which is why it was annoying

This is specifically for iPhone users wondering what the deal is with the new photo formats. Also color space and HDR have everything to do with the capabilities of jpeg vs jpeg xl.

@@untamedsensei the iPhone cannot shoot in JPEG XL. You can just shoot proraw with JPEG XL compression (dng 1.7).

@@untamedsensei So you are wrong. DNG 1.6 already supports all color space and all HDR formats. There is no difference to DNG 1.7 (jpeg XL). Especially once decompressed the files are bit identical.

@@MegaWeitzel Well first of all, I never said anything about the iPhone shooting or not shooting in JPEG XL. So, I'm not sure what you're saying I'm wrong about on that front. Secondly, you're right about DNG 1.6 supporting HDR and color spaces, but you're wrong at the same time. The thing is, JPEG can only save at 8-bit depth. That leaves very little room for true HDR images and our wide color gamuts to be preserved in the file - hence my comment about JPEG Lossless lacking those advanced features. Perhaps the image can be taken, but it won't be preserved accurately

Hey brother, yeah that’ll fix on its own. After updating to iOS 18 I had the same problem, and I noticed the phone was actually starting to index again, which is what causes the mega battery drain. Don’t freak out, it’ll pass!

Also you’re only 3 days into a new iPhone, which hasn’t indexed AT ALL yet. I’m not sure if the iOS 18 update needs a full indexing again, but your phone does since it’s new, so it’ll probably be a few more days like this. Try not to think about it and just charge it up when you need to

And not just because they're new. The environment invites me in. SotO started off fine, true. But Janthir Wilds started off great, or if you're not generous like me, started off better than SotO...wouldn't you agree?

Well, I’m not saying they don’t necessarily go through AS much, but the image is taken with all 48mp with HEIF Max, then compressed down. That’s why your detail remains much higher when using it

Yes. For me it’s pretty obvious HDR in general is still applied with an HEIF Max image, and SmartHDR is their only HDR I believe

Everything in the pipeline applies, but your resolution output is much higher with Max. Also if you want to try it to see for yourself, what you can do is, take a photo with HEIF Max and then take one with ProRAW. You should see that ProRAW adds nothing to the image through the pipeline, keeping it fully editable after shooting

Well here’s the thing I think you might not understand. The scale I’m using is for Guild Wars 2 only. I’m not comparing it to other games. It’s also not about getting new content, it’s about getting good content. The fact that I loved it IS the motivation to make this video, not just to make review. If you prefer the hand crafted route you’re better off with another game in general I think that’s not an MMO. But the point about the exploration is that the vibe and motivation to explore with the journeykin IS fresh and new and gets you exploring more than before. That’s what it did for me and other people I know 😊 I appreciate your comment brother!

Oh I’m well aware of Silverwastes. I’m also a vet. Here’s the thing, my point about the whole chest discovery thing is that there’s a bigger element of exploration now than there was before. When running around Silverwastes, I never felt like I was exploring a big mysterious map, even for the first time. Also the fact you mentioned that it’s a ‘chest farm’ sounds to me like you’re not the type who wants to explore for chests anyway, perhaps you’re just after the loot. One of the BEST things about the new chests system is that you’re NOT running around in a massive conglomerate of people doing a ‘farm’, and you’re actually getting a chance to genuinely explore the map 😊 also no offense but I won’t apologize for my video style haha if you don’t like it that’s totally understandable. Everyone likes different things 😙
