The couple in the bar are from Episode 4, their scene was cut out, they were Lukes friends.. Of course they are different actors, but wow!! Another wow when Black Krrsantan, the Wookiee bounty hunter made his leap from comics to live action. The writers and directors of these Star Wars shows are really truly Star Wars Fans.

Clone wars, bad batch, rebels, the madnalorian and this now. All shows are better than the original trilogy! And i mean that. The trilogy established the universe but this is true star wars.

yes they are Camie and Fixer, Luke's childhood friends from the Toche station where I think is where they were being bothered by the speeder gang and where Boba Fett consecutively helps them with them.
they were cut off from a new hope which is a shame because camie in particular was written as luke's secret teen crush which honestly would have been interesting to see.

How the hell did this episode manage to feel like a crime thriller in the 1st act, a western train heist in the 2nd, and a tribal fantasy in the 3rd?!?!?!?
This show is actually making me love Boba Fett not just as a badass warrior but as a person. And I had no idea I would come to love this tribe of Tuskens this much. I guarantee at the next Star Wars Celebration there are going to be entire tribes of Tuskens using the exact choreography of the final dance like we see in this episode.
Also the name of the Wookie enforcer is Black Krrsantan, he is a bounty hunter from the Star Wars comics who is almost as dangerous as Boba Fett.

      @jjstarrprod 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

This is showing the huge difference of perspective from an author to another. Georges Lucas is pretty much a cowboy, so of course, when he writes a western, he'd glorify the cowboys and write indians as mere moving targets.
Jon Favreau, instead, is very much going the middle path, trying to be much more inclusive and show how life works from both sides POV, and that is just so refreshing to see. It also serves at adding so much more worldbuilding and depth to the Star Wars whole universe rather than have it being just a big SkywalkerLand.

I remember looking thru a few Star Wars comics in recent years, and my jaw dropped when they revealed Black Krrsantan. This Wookie fought a bout with Chewbacca and he lived. He's actually bigger than Chewie, since - according to George Lucas - Chewie is kinda of a runt compared to other Wookiees, lol!

Mags, the couple who were assaulted at Anchorhead by the train gang, and then rescued by Boba are Fixer and Camie, two of Luke’s friends on Tatooine while he was growing up there.
They can be seen among these deleted scenes, along with Luke’s best friend Biggs (who was shown in A New Hope reuniting with him before the attack on the Death Star). If you look closely, it’s even the same building!

I really like the parallels to the Maori warrior culture who had to deal with colonization from outsiders. Temuera Morrison himself is Maori. The Tuskens being a warrior people in Star Wars, and having to deal with colonization of Tatooine. It really fleshes the Tuskens out as a species and makes the way more interesting.

    • @Caseytify

    Daaamn, what an episode !!!
I had some severe Dune flashbacks while watching it (Tusken raiders are basically depicted here as the Star Wars Fremens, and Boba is their Paul Atreides, they even got the Spice, and its hallucinatogen visions-ahuayasca effects). The whole episode was really a great hommage to Dune, which Star Wars's universe is heavily inspired by to begin with.
The raid on the train almost felt like a mix between the Mandalorian season 2's episode The Believer, the one with Bill Burr when they have to ride their cargo through the forest and are attacked by raiders, and riding a sandworm in Dune.
As for the end, I feel like when they start all dancing together, it reminded me a lot of Maori Hakkas performances ! I'm pretty sure that's the Temuera Morrison touch, I've heard that he had some words on the vibe of the series, while portraying Boba, and I had heard he wanted to bring some Maori flavor to it. Pretty sure that was the moment.
Loved all your reactions to all the keypoints !

Also, the interesting take of the series is to parallel Boba's present struggles of trying to bring his syndicate into one, and how he succeeded to "conquer" the Tusken tribe. Since he's done it once with far les civilized people, he feels like he can pull it off another time, but this time, at a much bigger scale (the entire crime mob scene of Tattooine scale).
I wasn't so fond of the narrative structure from episode 1 (like 50/50 past and present), but now that we've seen ep 2, it's beginning to make sense.

    • @Caseytify
      @Caseytify 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

It has occurred to me that they're going to use the flashbacks as a way to show how Boba arrived at who he is today, continuing through the whole season, while also moving forward in the present. As you say, they could present two parallel narratives. Boba has a lot of back story to cover if you think about it.

The rock luke through to kill the rangkor is still there
We see the huts in present day
The mayor is right in saying when your a bounty hunter he only has to worry about himself now that boba is crime lord there are so many other people
I would rather boba be feared than respected because people are looking at him as if he is weak.
When the twins away they are carried like how fennec told him he should have been carried in the first episode
Black krrsantan is more deadly than boba
And has major run ins with Vader and obi wan
They told boba to sleep lightly on some ol gangster shit
The flashback is during the time of the return of the Jedi
We see the tuskin is training boba
We see toshi station the place where luke wanted to go in new hope. This is where he hung out as a teenager back in and before episode 4

What if, in this year of "Dune", Fett will be shown to have consolidated all of the Tuskens into a unified force like Paul does with the Fremen and actually controls all of Tatooine already with his 'desert power'. He's keeping that in reserve adopting a 'speak softly but carry a big stick' policy with the Hutts and underbosses to see if he can assert control without unleashing the whirlwind. Should Plan A not bear fruit, he can always pull the trigger on worldwide revolution becoming King of Tatooine!

I just realized how the actor who portrays Boba Fett uses some of the "Haka" facial expressions during the Tuscan dance. Being he is part Maori.

Another fantastic reaction! Can someone in the comments tell me, the Tusken who is training Boba, that is a woman I believe correct?
I dont know if anyone else pointed it out in the comments, but the actor is Maori from New Zealand, and the dance at the end is sort of like a connection to his own Maori warrior culture. They have a warrior dance called the Haka.
P.s. that cool wookiee bounty hunter is a famous character in star wars, super badass, even fought Obi-wan!

Hey, Magy! This was the "Lawrence of Arabia" episode. Lol. Here's my take on EPISODE 2:
Tight-lipped assassin sings like a canary with a Rancor fake-out!
Boba's most formidable foe: bureaucratic civil servant at City Hall! Lol.
Mayor Mok Shaiz is an Ithorian who denies hiring the Order of the Night Wind, pays for the bounty such an assassin is worth and casts suspicion on Madam Garsa.
Mok Shaiz is voiced by ROBERT RODRIGUEZ!
To be fair to the ravishing JENNIFER BEALS, anyone would work up a sweat on Mustafar or under the stern gaze of Fett.
Legal claimants to the throne: twin cousins to Jabba the Hutt on a groaning litter and flanked by a mean-looking Wookiee!
BLACK KRRSANTAN of the "Doctor Aphra" comics makes his live-action debut! Could DOC APHRA be next?
That facial scar was the result of an encounter with OBI-WAN KENOBI's lightsaber in 10 BBY and both he and Boba were members of Jabba's retinue in 1 ABY.
The rules of the Hutt-dominated underworld prohibit rub-outs without permission.
Back in 4 ABY, the female Tusken trains Boba in the use of the gaffi stick.
A rocket train skims the Dune Sea roaring like a KRAYT DRAGON and taking pot shots at potentially troublesome Tuskens!
The heavy toll prompts Fett to act.
The Nikto bikers rough-house the clientele at TOSCHE STATION, Luke's favorite hangout!
LAZE and CAMIE, two of Luke's childhood friends from a DELETED "A NEW HOPE" SCENE, now married, are bullied!
Fett puts his gaffi training to good use and clobbers the lot stealing their bikes!
Cross-cultural exchange: Fett teaches the Tuskens the value of off-world tech and that they were 'BORN TO BE WILD!' Can't you hear the Steppenwolf soundtrack?
EPIC HIGH-SPEED TRAIN HEIST! What's a Western without a good old fashioned train robbery?
That gaffi stick sure comes in handy; we've seen it used as a Bantha toothbrush and now a train brake!
The PYKE SYNDICATE of "Clone Wars" and "Solo" are transporting spice across Tatooine! Fett negotiates a Dune Sea tax for the Tuskens.
In gratitude, the Tuskens give him a snoutful of lizard that has him trippin' balls and go on a VISIONQUEST!
He has a vision of Tatooine's oceanic and arboreal past!
He flashes on KAMINO, GEONOSIS and the SARLACC's gullet.
He returns with a petrified piece of Tatooine flora, the hard wood from which gaffi sticks are fashioned.
RITE OF PASSAGE complete, he is garbed in Tusken robes and carves his branch into a proper weapon under the supervision of the tribe's armorer and the female warrior.
Now a bonafide tribe member, TEM shows the Tuskens how to raise the roof MAORI-STYLE! Lol.
Boba Fett is the T.E. LAWRENCE OF TATOOINE!
Loved the insight into Tusken culture!
Dare I hope that A'SHARAD HETT, the Tusken Jedi and future Sith Lord, makes the canon cut now that BLACK KRRSANTAN is confirmed?
Directed by Steph Green and written again by Jon Favreau.
