She has always talked about how it hurt that Three's Company did her so wrong. She owes him his commission. Doesn't matter who brought the buyer. It was his job to work the deal no matter what. Had he not been delivering they should have had a discussion and he had a chance to correct otherwise this was dirty and I now feel differently about her and am rethinking every story she's ever told. yes, she has spoken publicly many times on how the producers of Three's Company wouldn't pay her, and she is now not paying a commission that she legally owes the entire amount of. She was trying to get out of paying any at all, I just could not believe what I was hearing when they said "good for us, not so good for you, because you won't be getting any commission". ah yea... no... that's not how that works. And whoever was the person that put the deal together and you went into escrow without your realtor being involved at all, they also knew better and knew that they were breaking the law by doing this. Someone in my home town actually went to jail for a short period of time and got fired from their job because they swindled someone out of a commission. They only told josh about the buyer once they were in escrow - they could have told the buyer to contact josh as he was their agent at literally any other time before that. The right thing to do is direct the buyer to the realtor. Doesn't matter if it comes to you that realtor needs to be informed of everything so they can do the job for you that you've contracted them to do for you. That could be seen as a breach of contract.

@@KAL829 if Suzanne Somers signed a listing contract with Josh for a certain period of time ie. 90 days then she is 100% obligated to pay any commission from a sale even if he did not find the buyer...unless the she has some sort of exclusion for that particular buyer since they had previously engaged with them. So Josh has to explain that to them and then if they still dont agree he has the option to sue them for breach of contract.
I am an event planner and hired Suzanne years ago to perform her cabaret show. Her contract included a meet and greet and signing her latest book. I went to every book store in LA to get 300 copies. All my attendees were in line after her show (which was actually good) and all of a sudden I was told she didn't feel like doing her meet and greet and she bailed. I had to lie and tell 300 angry people she was sick. Annoying...not even an apology. Celebrities.

I had a commission stolen from me by the Listing Agent for a South Ridge Property in Palm Springs. Suzanne Somers also had a house up the street. My fault for trusting the List Agent. When the deal was ready to be signed, I said to her.."Its time to put this on my paper". She said, Oh dear, let me put it on mine, it'll go faster.. I said, OK being new to real estate and never thinking I'd be double crossed. I was a friend with everyone involved. That said, all that is behind me now and i am networking with honest and ethical people but the lesson learned is I will do my own paperwork. I am not the first to be betrayed and gaslighted and acknowledged as being the agent that brought the parties together. I am sorry this happened to Josh too. I have another story about a "friend" who proclaimed loyality that I was working with only to have this person buy from another agent just down the street.
For someone who fought to get equal pay for herself on Three's Company. It was really shady to do this to him! And I don't believe for a second that previous interested buyer just out of the blue, (after the place was listed for almost half what it was when they tried to buy it previously) called and wanted to buy it; not "knowing" it was for sale again! Suzanne and her husband really came of looking bad here in their attempt to not pay Josh a justified commission which he is totally entitled too. Josh was so graceful and polished professional in handling this situation and turning it into a positive to keep the client happy. Although they agreed to split it, it amazes me that people who have a lot of money would try to cheat someone else that way. And it was already in escrow and they didn't tell him about it when they were approached with the offer. So, so shady of them. Totally lost respect for Suzanne here. Looks like she and her husband are not to be trusted in a business deal. Wonder if the money they saved with the commission is worth the hit they are going to take on her reputation and image moving forward.
Love the show. it was heartbreaking to watch this scene. I wonder how they would have felt if that would have been one of their children that someone took advantage of.The world is full of lessons. Josh handled it very graciously.

I've watched million dollar listing for years. I felt really bad for Josh. Suzanne S. and hubby, wow, I thought they were totally wrong. They came across as cheap, miserly, mean spirited and just plain nasty. Whew! I was shocked they would treat a "friend" like that. They were more like frenemies. There was one other buyer or seller, years ago, on Million dollar listing New York. He was such as jerk. He kept calling the agent Ricky Ricardo when the agent kept asking him not to. It is amazing how these reality shows show the true color of the character of people. If I ever was walking the streets of New York and saw that client guy, I would say"oh there's that jerk". Now if I see Suzanne S. on tv, I'll say"oh there's that frenemy".

I’m a realtor in CA, He has a contract, the contract specifically protects us against this. Thats why he says it’s not gonna fly. Our commissions are due whether we procure the buyer, the seller or another agent during the listing period. He can sue them and get his commission, easy win for him.

This comes 1 week after Josh surrendered his entire commission so Tracy could get her dream house. That is well over $400,000 in lost Commissions that Josh has lost. Yea I found my last two buyers on my own using my own advertising - BUT I still paid the agent commission - I would have appreciated an acknowledgment of that; but it was rather met with entitlement and they lost future listings.

Really? Really? What an ignorant comment! The only reason the commissions are high is because of the high price tag. Average commission in LA is 5 1/2%. A million dollar house is going to bring a lot less than a 25 million dollar house. Plus: An agent has to know how to sell these types of properties. Real Estate agents put their own money and time into these deals and get paid NOTHING until they sell the house. Real estate agents give professional advice on how to sell more quickly, how to market it, etc. Maybe try being a real estate agent yourself and see how easy it is. Work for free for a couple of months and see someone else steal from you. A real lesson will teach you something.

I think it’s terrible! I started watching during COVID Big Als bar which was fun you would hear a lot of neat story’s from Suzanne and Als years in the entertainment business. They would show a few things that they were selling which was alright. Then they just got so pushy with products so I decided to order a monthly subscription which would come in a dirty yellow and white box most of the time something would be broken in it. They should be ashamed of what they are charging for these products! I assumed the prices were going up to pay for the new house😒 I always heard for years the were not who they led people to believe. @@KAL829 if Suzanne Somers signed a listing contract with Josh for a certain period of time ie. 90 days then she is 100% obligated to pay any commission from a sale even if he did not find the buyer...unless the she has some sort of exclusion for that particular buyer since they had previously engaged with them.
So Josh has to explain that to them and then if they still dont agree he has the option to sue them for breach of contract.
I am an event planner and hired Suzanne years ago to perform her cabaret show. Her contract included a meet and greet and signing her latest book. I went to every book store in LA to get 300 copies. All my attendees were in line after her show (which was actually good) and all of a sudden I was told she didn't feel like doing her meet and greet and she bailed. I had to lie and tell 300 angry people she was sick. Annoying...not even an apology. Celebrities.

I had a commission stolen from me by the Listing Agent for a South Ridge Property in Palm Springs. Suzanne Somers also had a house up the street. My fault for trusting the List Agent. When the deal was ready to be signed, I said to her.."Its time to put this on my paper". She said, Oh dear, let me put it on mine, it'll go faster.. I said, OK being new to real estate and never thinking I'd be double crossed. I was a friend with everyone involved. That said, all that is behind me now and i am networking with honest and ethical people but the lesson learned is I will do my own paperwork. I am not the first to be betrayed and gaslighted and acknowledged as being the agent that brought the parties together. I am sorry this happened to Josh too. I have another story about a "friend" who proclaimed loyality that I was working with only to have this person buy from another agent just down the street.

Suzanne and her husband really came of looking bad here in their attempt to not pay Josh a justified commission which he is totally entitled too. Josh was so graceful and polished professional in handling this situation and turning it into a positive to keep the client happy. Although they agreed to split it, it amazes me that people who have a lot of money would try to cheat someone else that way. And it was already in escrow and they didn't tell him about it when they were approached with the offer. So, so shady of them. Totally lost respect for Suzanne here. Looks like she and her husband are not to be trusted in a business deal. Wonder if the money they saved with the commission is worth the hit they are going to take on her reputation and image moving forward.
In my previous job it was the rich clients who always balked at the prices and were cranky if they didn't get their way!

I've watched million dollar listing for years. I felt really bad for Josh. Suzanne S. and hubby, wow, I thought they were totally wrong. There was one other buyer or seller, years ago, on Million dollar listing New York. He was such as jerk.
He kept calling the agent Ricky Ricardo when the agent kept asking him not to. It is amazing how these reality shows show the true color of the character of people. If I ever was walking the streets of New York and saw that client guy, I would say"oh there's that jerk". Now if I see Suzanne S. on tv, I'll say"oh there's that frenemy".

I’m a realtor in CA, He has a contract, the contract specifically protects us against this. Thats why he says it’s not gonna fly. Our commissions are due whether we procure the buyer, the seller or another agent during the listing period. He can sue them and get his commission, easy win for him.

This comes 1 week after Josh surrendered his entire commission so Tracy could get her dream house. That is well over $400,000 in lost Commissions that Josh has lost. He must believe in Karma because he certainly has loaded up on Karma points.

I watched the show and only when Josh suggested getting half the commission , did Suzanne and hubby go along with the idea. Prior to that, they were mean and cheap and miserly. And not honest. Really? Really? What an ignorant comment! The only reason the commissions are high is because of the high price tag. Average commission in LA is 5 1/2%. A million dollar house is going to bring a lot less than a 25 million dollar house. Plus: An agent has to know how to sell these types of properties. Real Estate agents put their own money and time into these deals and get paid NOTHING until they sell the house. Real estate agents give professional advice on how to sell more quickly, how to market it, etc. Maybe try being a real estate agent yourself and see how easy it is. Work for free for a couple of months and see someone else steal from you. A real lesson will teach you something.

I think it’s terrible! I started watching during COVID Big Als bar which was fun you would hear a lot of neat story’s from Suzanne and Als years in the entertainment business. They would show a few things that they were selling which was alright. Then they just got so pushy with products so I decided to order a monthly subscription which would come in a dirty yellow and white box most of the time something would be broken in it.
