    Riva Ganguly Das is a former Indian Foreign Service officer who retired as Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs. She handled the ASEAN countries, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Mongolia, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean and Pacific Island countries. She was also responsible for SAARC, BIMSTEC, IORA and several other important regional organisations.
    WISCOMP (Women in Security, Conflict Management and Peace) is a pioneering South Asian research and training initiative that foregrounds leadership of women in peace and security and promotes cultures of pluralism and coexistence in the region.
    The knowledge generated through research is disseminated by WISCOMP to civil society actors and educational institutions (schools, colleges and universities) through diverse methodologies that include training workshops, symposiums, roundtables, film festivals, installations, exhibitions, public lectures, curricular development and innovative pedagogy.     Was fortunate to have met Dr Riva Ganguly at Agartala, Tripura at a Conference on Indo Japan economic policies and trade. We need women diplomats as they have a larger and more neutral world view.
