Both handbags are gorgeous but my favourite is the 2.55.
Original, understated, elegant and chic.
It’s my first and only Chanel bag. Mine is also black with gold hardware but in the small size (225).
The chain looks like jewellery, the wrinkled leather is both unique and carefree. The chain length is perfect to wear on the shoulder and cross body.
It’s also nice to have a part of the illustrious history of the house of Chanel.

Hands down a 2.55 fan. I am extremely fortunate to own the 2.55 XXL calfskin ( never seen this anywhere else ) with huge ruthenium hardware. It is categorically stunning. And just gazing at it has already given me my moneys worth. It’s a bespoke experience indeed.

The best and informative video about the 2 bags . Can't wait to see my double flap 225 reissues very soon ( I am on payment plan) with preloved bag . I would be use the reissues more as it is more user friendly than classic flap . Thank you for your time to make a great comparison video.

I only own the 2.55 now, classic flap didn’t work out for me due to short chain length and dressier elements. I love my 225 in the chevron and smooth calfskin which I feel is the best of both worlds. It looks modern but has all the benefits of 2.55. 💗
Hi Alisha, wowwww, I agree, the chevron pattern gives young and modern feel, and I think it looks better in the smooth lambskin, but lambskin is too delicate, so the smooth calfskin is the best middle ground. Great choice 👍 lucky you got this combination, because 2.55 normally only comes in the wrinkled calfskin 😊

Hi Bien, yeah, especially the beige, pretty hard to come across 😊 the medium classic flap is the perfect size for most people, the large 2.55 is just a bit bigger so you can fit a bit more in😊

Thanks for the detailed comparison! Well done, I didn’t know about the chain difference. While I love both I do like the understated look of the 255, it’s luxury without screaming it. Especially if can find it in chevron - IMO it makes it more “modern”. but the diamond quilting is good looking. I’ll get my chevron fix with an YSL (also love). It took me a while to get past the aged look of the leather but now I love it, especially if it will age and handle daily wear better. Any thoughts on which one keeps its value better (ie is a better investment)? These are now a whopping $9000+ after taxes
I have always been attracted to the 2.55, and learned to appreciate the Classic Flap 😁 2.55 is much more easier to use, not as structured as CF, and the chain is the best 💕💕 but it doesn’t hold the value as well as the CF, as least for the time being. But things might change when the logo mania fades 😊 talking about the YSL, I just did a video on the 3 year wear and tear on the YSL Loulou, you might want to check it ou, I highly recommend it for its quality, style, affordability and resale value 😁
Thank you. In the end I went with the 255 medium golden diamond quilt (similar to the one you have) and I love it. I’m more comfortable wearing it to certain work event (although I still baby it) as it’s not screaming Chanel. Just love the 255.
And I got the college YSL (medium) in red and just love it. Want it it all other colors. But because of the YSL logo it’s flashier than the 5x costlier 2.55. Love both. I’ll check your other videos, thank you for the detailed informative reviews
Yeah I still love my 2.55, I think the trend is changing, more people prefer low key luxury now, I believe that 2.55 is gaining popularity. The red college is stunning! I also love ysl bags, their quality is really good, and they have the best red and dark beige colors 👍 do you like the Fendi Peekaboo? I am a big fan of it, done a number of videos on it😊
I prefer the 2.55. I have the 225 and 226 sizes and prefer the 225 size. It’s the perfect bag and looks great crossbody.

Hi Cindy- do you know the weight difference between the bags you have presented in the video? I have a 225 and 226 and am considering a classic flap in the medium size, but don’t want a lot of extra weight. The Reissues are just so nice and light weight, but don’t seem to have as many color selections as the CF.
I just checked for you, the 226 is about the same weight as the medium CF, but 226 is a bigger bag. I hope this information will help you to make the right decision. I agree that CF flap has more color and material options😊

It’s large, also called size 226, bigger than medium classic flap but much smaller than large classic flap 😊
