I have one LYXBAGS bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...

My next Chanel is meant to be the beige classic flap but I can’t decide between the jumbo or medium as I am quite tall but that particular reissue is so ridiculously beautiful that I’m seriously considering a reissue now 🙈 I’ve never been a big fan of the aged metals and I like structured bags which is why I’ve never really considered one before.

Might I just say, the reissue suits your frame so much better than the beige clair which looks awkwardly stiff and bulky when you wear them both together. And the reissue chain is like jewelry, one of the most beautiful I've ever seen on a bag.

I am making the transition to subtle CC logos also; I bought the So Black medium classic flap in shiny calfskin, and I think that will be it for my CC logos...I have several classics I just bought that I will be selling...I'm more interested in the understated look, now; I don't really want to scream logos...Plus, it makes you a target.
Another great review Isabelle. When I was deciding what bag to get as my first Chanel piece, it was between the classic ML flap and the reissue. While I love the history, versatility, leather and the weight of the reissue I ended up getting the classic flap because I simply prefer its strap length as I seldom do crossbody and just like your friend, for me, if I will spend so much on a bag, people might as well know that IT IS an expensive bag when I'm carrying it haha. But if ever I do get a chance to own another Chanel piece, it would definitely be the reissue. Btw, there's just one thing that you failed to mention, is the capacity of the small reissue similar to the classic ML? Like what fits in the ML would also fit in the small reissue? TIA 😊
Very detailed review and I find it truly helpful and realistic, the chain and the turn lock... I have been thinking about this size for awhile (from price point as well). I noticed it is a little smaller than the LV pochette metis so I have been wondering about the capacity given the double flap. I carry about the same amount of items as you, in fact 3 out of the 4 SLG are the same, but how about your phone? Can it fit an iphone xs with the same amount of SLG?

Some say it’s foldable because Coco Chanel’s clients wanted it to be flat and closer to the body, some say it’s supposed to be a clutch. One thing is contradicting though, there’s a photo of Coco Chanel where she’s sitting with her original 2.55 flap bag and it sits straight. So it always had a straight and flat bottom. I think Karl Lagerfeld might have indeed found a flattened 2.55 in the archives, but I don’t think it was meant to be flat

Am I the only one that carries a brush? For me that is a must have in my bag always. I found a small brush and had my husband cut off the handle and sand the end smooth so it fits in my smaller bags.

But would you buy it if it is the last piece and a display piece and you saw a mark on it in the inner flap? That was what happened to me and I love the combination but eventually didn't purchase. Hey I love both bags the classic and reissue but I think buying a luxury bag with an obvious logo to brag I think then you are buying luxury fir the wrong reasons. It’s great that the reissue is more understated. I don’t have any luxury bags but the main reason I’d like one is for quality and knowing it would last in great state for a long time.
The bag is nice but that pocket on the flap is possibly the stupidest design choice, why would you have the pocket going up instead of down, what could you possibly put in there that wouldn’t just keep annoyingly falling out, I mean you can’t go in the pocket with the flap down so what’s the point in making the pocket that way and I wish all their bags had the twist lock cause those push in locks on the boyfriend bags are so annoying

Is there something wrong with the reissued outer flap? The classic is more curved. I thought the point of double flap is to keep the curvature of it.
