The Dark Knight is one of the main reason for increasing number of movies nominated in the best movie category. Before this superhero movies were looked upon just as fun entertaining movie. But after release of dark Knight people started release that superhero movies can be serious, artistic, engaging, etc.
My favorite DC movies: The Dark Knight trilogy, Tim Burton’s Batman dulogy, Wonder Women 2017, Joker 2019, Watchmen, the Batman animated films (too many to count), and even Batman Forever (yes that one).
Tim Burton was not even big into the comics and STILL delivered 2 bad ass epic Batman films. Nolan's trilogy is a masterpiece and Batman Begins is best.
I don’t think Sean and a lot of others haven’t watched the dark knight rises in a long time, not a lot of people actually understand it but when you do you realise it’s almost as good as the dark knight,it’s definitely my second favourite on this list
There is no way batman vs superman is a better movie than the dark knight rises in any universe ever. The last scene alone in the dark knight rises is bigger than the entire new batman/superman/justice league shit franchise.
I swear I’ve never seen a TH-camr put so much effort into videos like you do, Sean. Keep it up man👍🏼 Maybe one day I’ll find the courage to start my own channel
Wow that’s one long video! Hey Sean Chandler if you didn’t knew, I’m currently making a movie right now, it’s a micro budget stop motion film titled “PRIMEVIL” which will be around 80 to 90 mins long. The reason I bring this up is because I plan on splitting the film into multiple parts first, then release the complete cut later like how you’re doing with your ranking videos. I did see your DC ranking videos in the past, they are great, I respect your opinions and I even agree with some, and your content is excellent as well, you’ve even inspired me to overcome my own personal struggles after watching your sober videos of overcoming alcohol, keep up the great work!

Great video. I completely agree with you on Justice League. When I watched the 4 hour Snyder cut, I kept thinking, "This is a 100% completely different movie." If the Snyder 4 hour cut had been released even if they did it in 2 parts kind of like the last part to Harry Potter, it would have been far better received.
My favorites would have to be The Dark Knight Trilogy, Wonder Woman, ZS Justice League, and Shazam. Least favorites would definitely be Josstice League and Joker (2019).
@@Dimension5Productions I know a lot of people even personally who love that movie. It wasn't for me. I kept checking the time when I saw it, wishing it would end. Just kind of agonizing. I thought the themes never tied together, and I thought a lot of it was pretty dumb, specifically the twists and just how overtly pathetic his character was. Though, I did like the cinematography, music, and Phoenix's performance. I just hated the experience overall.

I would rank Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) among the best comic films of all time (it was part based on the animated series but mostly inspired by the original Eastman and Laird comics).
That means nothing. Even if every DCEU movie was a 10/10 masterpiece as good as WW, they would still not be as good as dark knight. And if fans would stop being butthurt, they'd acknowledge the truth. JL isn't even remotely the worst DC movie. Not when catwoman, steel, and jonah hex exist. At least JL had some good things in it
@@christianogden2825 for real, Sean just ranked it last because of the production drama and not it’s merits as an actual film. It’s not that good but people act like it’s the worst thing ever created.

Hey Sean, currently watching the vid rn. Quick question: Since streaming and releasing movies online is pretty much the norm now, do you think this will give directors and studios an opportunity to release for NC-17 movies? The problem was always content and getting a limited release but since anyone can see it online then why not release it uncut? It would attract certain audiences who want to see it. Anyways, I'd like to hear your thoughts. Have a great day!
I don't see the NC-17 rating ever becoming common place. I think they'll just release on streaming without a rating. With shows like GOT having excessive violence and sexual content, it's clear audiences are ok with NC-17 content. But that's not the same as getting a theater to show it.
NC-17 movies get very little coverage in theaters it's almost like getting sent to the shadow realm and it doesn't matter how big the movie is you're definitely going to be losing money if the theater decides to give it a NC17 rating

James Gunn keeps moving the goalpost. If Legacy flops, will Batman be the start? Also, if he speaks to Zack at all, I find it hard to believe that the DCEU continuing has never been discussed.
I actually grew up having Batman 66 as my first superhero movie. I was born in 2002, so I’m not really sure how it happened. Technically I did grow up having the DK Trilogy, and the only one of the three I saw in cinema was DKR. I love the DK trilogy, but the 66 movie always remains immensely nostalgic.
Hah as a fellow 2002 baby I think the 66 film was also my first followed by the burton films I got on VHS from a local thrift store. We had a local TV station that had a constant stream of 60's and 70's films and shows and the original Batman show and movie was constantly playing.

@@Flare_kil Hi. I'm aware I don't think as much of the Nolan trilogy as others, esp DK. It was undoubtedly a zeitgeist movie, but I'd argue that it's place in the cultural zeitgeist of the time has resulted in a level of over-praise it really doesn't deserve. I think it's a good film. I think how one finds it depends on one's first viewing and if on first viewing the spectator notices the extent to which the Joker is essentially magic. I think if the viewer realises (and I'm not saying this is a 'cleverness' thing or anything, just whether it's a thought you have during first viewing) early on in first viewing the Joker is omniscient and to all intents and purposes magic and as such the plot is essentially no less outlandish than the 1966 Batman, then the whole "gritty realism/action thriller" thing Nolan goes for as a style kind of falls apart for that viewer. But if it isn't something you think on first viewing, and even if it's 'pointed out' it doesn't matter. Once you're in with the DK then the impact of that first viewing, and being part of that zeitgeist feel, doesn't go away. Nolan plays a trick....but if it works on you it's a genius trick. But if it doesn't work on you....it just doesn't work and it's an enjoyable movie, but not a great one. I'd argue that the 'gritty thriller/action' aesthetic gives it the appearance that it's about more than it actually is. There are portentious duologues (very well performed) and lines that are stretching to be meaningful and iconic....but to me there's nothing in there that has anything like the weight of Billy Batson being rejected by his mother, nor the fun of Adam West's deadpan delivery. It doesn't scratch any itches for me because I never bought it as the thing that it presented itself as - an action thriller that had an semblance of grounding in the real world. All of which is not to say I have an issue with people thinking TDK is great, or the greatest superhero movie ever, or anything of that nature. If you love it great, I wouldn't take it away and Im more than inured to the fact that I'm in the minority on this one. But I thought I'd at least give a rationale as to why someone has the opinion I do and that it's not some kind of trolling or deliberate subversion of common opinion: the film has elements that can be critiqued just like anything.

The Suicide Squad (2021), The Dark Knight and Wonder Woman (NOT 2) are my top 3. I'm hoping that The Batman will replace WW next year it's already looking so good. I'm looking forward to the Injustice movie and Peacemaker series too (although I know that its a TV show so I'm not counting it)
The 1978 Richard donner Superman movie is first rate. It has problems including Lois’ poem and the fast ending ( they had run out of money and time) but overall it’s great. It remembers the comic part of comic books. And Reeve is simply perfect.

Quite a bit different, and still not very good (IMO).
The Red movies are some of my favorite movies of all time
Since day 1 I have said Man of Steel was a masterpiece also my favorite movie of all time has to be the Dark Knight
My favorites would have to be The Dark Knight Trilogy, Wonder Woman, ZS Justice League, and Shazam. Least favorites would definitely be Josstice League and Joker (2019).
If you don't mind my asking, what didn't you like about Joker? I've seen 42 DC films and its third for me!
@@Dimension5Productions interesting opinion on Joker (2019)
Joker 2019 is kind of overrated, it's a really good movie, but aside from Joaquin Phoenix's performance, the film itself wasn't to memorable.
Joker bruh
@@Dimension5Productions I know a lot of people even personally who love that movie. It wasn't for me. I kept checking the time when I saw it, wishing it would end. Just kind of agonizing. I thought the themes never tied together, and I thought a lot of it was pretty dumb, specifically the twists and just how overtly pathetic his character was. Though, I did like the cinematography, music, and Phoenix's performance. I just hated the experience overall.

You should make a top comic book films of all time when The Batman comes out
I would rank Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) among the best comic films of all time (it was part based on the animated series but mostly inspired by the original Eastman and Laird comics).
When a DCEU movie is in last place but a non-DCEU movie is in first:
That means nothing. Even if every DCEU movie was a 10/10 masterpiece as good as WW, they would still not be as good as dark knight. And if fans would stop being butthurt, they'd acknowledge the truth. JL isn't even remotely the worst DC movie. Not when catwoman, steel, and jonah hex exist. At least JL had some good things in it

Watchmen is so underrated
@@theofreres1882 eh, it’s a little overrated. Especially the editing, a lot of it is over exaggerated like in 300, the transitions are too slow. Man of Steel has fast pace with great action which is very satisfying for a new superhero movie that’s meant for action unlike the lame stuff in the original. Considering the new technology now.
@@hdbuckets8154 its just so perfect to me, mainly because they did a good job of adapting a graphic novel many thought and said was impossible to adapt. The whole storyline thing with rorschach is amazing as well. Man of steel is alright imo, but i respect your opinion

Dark knight B seriously,I know it's your opinion But I can't believe that the Greatest superhero movie is B

I say my top 3 best DC films to date is:
Wonder Woman 2017
Joker
Dark knight
My favourites: All 3 Nolan movies, Joker, V for Vengeance, MoS, BvS, WW, ZSJL and Watchmen
It may have been said already, but the sex in the blimp scene in Watchman was accompanied by Leonard Cohen, not Tom Waits.
