Lol, not to be or sound condescending, but you don't know what you don't know, surge has NOTHING to do with an "open air scoop", and the scoop has air cleaners in it, nor do the "butterflies" have anything to do with it, nor does butterfly transfer slot exposure have anything to do with it either Surge is caused by a rich/lean condition, in a carbureted example like this it's the transition from the idle circuit to the main circuit, been tuning these things for 40 years, study, ask questions, and understand what your talking about first, "but you already knew that huh ?
