One can make it melt, but one's it has been shaped it becomes indestructible by anything else except for heated Adamantium (as we've seen in the Wolverine's movie) and strong enough magic of course (The reality stone can make and remake reality almost without limit. Adamantium is only a metal. Wanda's Chaos magic is also powerful enough to modify reality so she would have no trouble disintegrating every particle in Logan's body). Wolverine could shred Cap's shield in a one on one, with his adamantium claws. One downside to adamantium is that it becomes poisonous if you are exposed to it for too long. In the movie Logan, Wolverine's ability to heal himself was diminished by the anti-mutation agents sneaked into corn syrup and other mundane everyday food, which ultimately led to Logan dying of Andamantium poisoning.
