Nice video! I thought this would be the same as other controversial poke vids (w/ Hypno, Porygon, etc...) But this was a fresh take with interesting ideas. No TH-camr considered Pikachu/Charizard/Rotom as controversial, but this video not only put them on the Top 5 but gave a valid reason for doing so. So good job, Michael! Rotom-W is annoying due to these reasons (I love Piloting it but facing it is scary): -Volt Switch for momentum -Can use Trick to Switch a Choice Scarf onto a foe to stallbreak without doing damage -Hydro Pump is good STAB -Has only one weakness bc Levitate (Grass which isnt too common offensively) -Tanky and has great base SP.Atk -Pain Split shenanigans

Edit: As a gen 1 player I do aesthetically love most of the original 151, but I really do like a lot of the new designs as well such as Luxray and Manetric and Decidueye and yada yada, anywho, there was a time I felt they were being lazy but I’ve grown to appreciate them.

Hm, that depends. You could argue for both. There is some strategy of knowing your opponents team before a match and adjusting your team accordingly and there isn't a rule against it. You are free to design whatever you like, so its fair game. But as for cheating, I guess it would depend on the manner in which you switched your team. I would call it cheating if you refused to admit changing your team should they have asked prior to the match. Most people I know inform the other person if they are changing their team, not in detail but just letting them know so that the other person may rethink strategy. But that really depends on your group, as long as you aren't being a jerk about it i would say you aren't cheating. Just be sure to not get angry if they adjust to you

Hey Michael, this is a great video. I was kinda confused on to how Charizard was controversial, but i TOTALLY understand the whole Rotom situation. People only use the Pokemon that other people use, even though they know deep inside that they hate it with ever fiber of they're being. My fav pokemon (either scizor, weavile, or hydreigon) are pretty decent in battle, and I wouldn't use a pokemon that I dont like.
Screw criticism, Charizard will always be the best in my book. And before you ask if I'm a Charizard bandwagoner, no, I'm not, I've loved Charizard ever since I got into Pokémon (Which was 8 years ago)

Great video Michael, I never knew that Lopunny was so controversial. Charizard is my favorite Kanto starter but I will admit that Blastoise is the best for battling, and I wish that Blastoise and Venusaur would've gotten a second mega evolution too.
While that is your your opinion, would Pikachu still be bad if it wasn't the franchise Mascot? If you thought no, Pikachu would not be as bad if it wasn't overrated, than understand that hating a Pokemon SOLELY because of popularity is hating it's status, honestly Pikachu the Pokemon itself is a well designed Pokémon. It isn't overly designed, but also isn't bland, it's cute, but you wouldn't want to mess with one in the wild, it appeals to both Ladies, and Gents. It also is a well thought out Pokemon, in concept and name origin. Just because something is popular doesn't mean its bad.
the only reason why they made charizard having two mega evolutions is that ppl are always saying that they wanted charizard to be a dragon type, so they probably wanted two mega evolutions to make charizard cooler with its regular typing and have another mega evolution for the other ppl that want charizard to be a dragon type. but as you see, it just caused more controversy

My situation is weird because I like strong pokemon. They usually have great designs. Like the mons I'm using right now include Volcarona and Escavalier. They're good in battle, sure, but I also love those pokemon.
This topic has been done to death. However, I liked that only two of the obvious ones were included - them being Lopunny and Jynx - and not some others like Kadabra, Porygon and Registeel. However (2), the reasons for the others were basically the same: they're popular, so there are people in the community who don't like them because of that.

I agree that Lopunny is unnecessarly sexual, but I like it anyway. I got one via Wonder Trade that knew all the elemental punches and I grew really attached to it. And its Mega Evolution reminds me of Maggie from Million Dollar Baby.

Hey Michael, this is a great video. I was kinda confused on to how Charizard was controversial, but i TOTALLY understand the whole Rotom situation. People only use the Pokemon that other people use, even though they know deep inside that they hate it with ever fiber of they're being. My fav pokemon (either scizor, weavile, or hydreigon) are pretty decent in battle, and I wouldn't use a pokemon that I dont like.
Screw criticism, Charizard will always be the best in my book. And before you ask if I'm a Charizard bandwagoner, no, I'm not, I've loved Charizard ever since I got into Pokémon (Which was 8 years ago)

Great video Michael, I never knew that Lopunny was so controversial. Charizard is my favorite Kanto starter but I will admit that Blastoise is the best for battling, and I wish that Blastoise and Venusaur would've gotten a second mega evolution too.

the thing with rotom wash is that lots of ppl don't like rotom as a pokemon. the wash form is the most common and reliable form.
Pikachu is the worst Pokémon ever, like ever, EVER.
While that is your your opinion, would Pikachu still be bad if it wasn't the franchise Mascot? If you thought no, Pikachu would not be as bad if it wasn't overrated, than understand that hating a Pokemon SOLELY because of popularity
is hating it's status, honestly Pikachu the Pokemon itself is a well designed Pokémon. It isn't overly designed, but also isn't bland, it's cute, but you wouldn't want to mess with one in the wild, it appeals to both Ladies, and Gents. It also is a well thought out Pokemon, in concept and name origin. Just because something is popular doesn't mean its bad.
the only reason why they made charizard having two mega evolutions is that ppl are always saying that they wanted charizard to be a dragon type, so they probably wanted two mega evolutions to make charizard cooler with its regular typing and have another mega evolution for the other ppl that want charizard to be a dragon type. but as you see, it just caused more controversy

My situation is weird because I like strong pokemon. They usually have great designs. Like the mons I'm using right now include Volcarona and Escavalier. They're good in battle, sure, but I also love those pokemon.

This topic has been done to death. However, I liked that only two of the obvious ones were included - them being Lopunny and Jynx - and not some others like Kadabra, Porygon and Registeel. However (2), the reasons for the others were basically the same: they're popular, so there are people in the community who don't like them because of that.

I agree that Lopunny is unnecessarly sexual, but I like it anyway. I got one via Wonder Trade that knew all the elemental punches and I grew really attached to it. And its Mega Evolution reminds me of Maggie from Million Dollar Baby.
