I can understand not wanting to show that episode again, but keeping Porygon and it’s evolutions out of the show will just continue to associate them with that incident. Maybe try bringing the Porygon line back to remove the connection. Of course there could be something else entirely that I am missing.
I still think it's funny on how people still think that Porygon was the cause of the seizures but people forget who was the one who did the attack which was Pikachu not Porygon
I'd understand a temporary ban on Porygon if it'd been directly responsible, but not a permanent one. And all Porygon did was dare to be introduced in an episode where Pikachu's attack was animated dangerously
@@wizwitch5318no one banned Porygon. It’s just Pokemon Company tries not to use it in anime. Then, I don’t understand why we got 2 new evolutions in the games, both of which are quite popular in Pokemon battle tournaments. And btw, Porygon was shown twice in anime afterwards as a cameo and twice in movie intros. What was the point of this?)))
I don’t see how putting them back in the show will remove the connection to the whole incident. I know that Pikachu is the one who caused it, but Porygon was the main character of that episode.

I think Tobias from the Sinnoh arc deserves an honorable mention. This was a character who shows up out of nowhere, has no backstory and has both a Darkrai and Latios that destroys Ash's entire team after one of the series' most memorable battles. Though there are a lot of characters who are introduced a few episodes before eliminating Ash from the Pokemon League, this one felt like the worst since we learn absolutely nothing about Tobias. Even the likes of Harrison, Tyson and Cameron are much more developed and contribute to the narrative outside of a single battle with Ash rather than contribute to his endless loop of getting eliminated in every edition of the Pokemon League.
Ash's loss to Alain in the Kalos League deserves a mention too. People were PISSED considering it felt like they were actually building up to Ash winning. The Japanese TH-cam channels had to disable likes if I remember, when you could still see the like to dislike ratio.
@@Torraduke I think that loss was easier to digest since Alain was a well-developed character who even had his own 4-part series to do exactly that and unlike Tobias we actually see the strengths (defeating Zygarde and holding out against Steven's Metagross) and limitations of his Mega Charizard X (overpowered by Mega-Raqauza and Primal Groudon). Plus I feel like Alain's confession to Ash in XYZ and his defeat to Leon cemented his rival as the better trainer despite the former winning all 4 battles against Ash.
In my perspective, while Alain got his own 4 episode mini series, Tobias didn't & we could've really used that. I was always curious about how Tobias became the trainer of legendary pokemon in the first place & a miniseries would've done the trick to his character. In my opinion, He did have a story. We just never got it. A miniseries for Ritchie, Harrison, Tyson & Virgil (AKA, the guy who should've beaten Ash in the ventress conference) all deserved more character development. If only the idea was thought of beforehand, it would've been different.
We are still pissed that he lost to alain is because we have waited 20 years for this moment for ash to win the league, only to come straight back down with another lost
I would NEVER show my mom the seizure episode. She has epilepsy and even though she hasn’t had a fit in decades I don’t wanna take any chances with her seeing it. When Incredibles 2 was released in theatres, a seizure warning was displayed before the Bao short to let people know about the intense animation, something the infamous Pokémon episode didn’t do because they simply weren’t aware of it. I’m glad Pixar was. In fact, when I went to see it, the theatre had posters set up explaining this to any people with epilepsy who would wanna see it. And if you’re wondering when Incredibles 2’s seizure scene is, it’s during the battle between Elastigirl and the Screen Slaver inside that cage
Another controversial episode from the Pokémon anime was the episode Tentacool and Tentacruel, which was yanked from US television shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It's since made a small comeback.
That Pikachu and Pichu short was erased from my memory. I remember watching that all the time before the Pokemon movie came on. I think it was the one with Celebi or Jirachi
TV broadcasting wasn't the only industry to be affected. Certain games were also altered for their Virtual Console release due to having similar strobe effects from the Zapper in _Mario Kart 64_ to the final battle of _Sonic the Hedgehog 2_ (for the SEGA Master System and SEGA Game Gear) featuring a lightning attack that caused the screen to strobe between black and bright white.

It's inclusions like that which make people think Iris shouldn't have been in the anime in the first place. 3. Goh catching more Pokemon than Ash. It really devalues the main protagonist in many ways. 4. Certain Pokemon Ash should've gotten instead. Considering his progress, he should've gotten far better Pokemon than certain ones he got. Absol, Flygon, Garchomp, Seismitoad, Zoroark, Braviary, Arcanine, Houndoom, Corviknight, Drednaw, and Espeon are a few examples of Pokemon he should've gotten (Rather or not some people have the same opinions). In fact, quite a lot of Pokemon he caught should've evolved to their final evolutions, then that way they could get a lot more love from viewers. 5. The Sun & Moon anime style. The cool style of animation before just got replaced by something cheap and off putting. 6. The XY anime featured Mega Evolution, but none of the main characters used it at all. If new features are to be introduced, have the main characters do it too. 7. Pikachu Gigantamaxing. There wasn't any build up on that. What were they thinking not using it alot? 8. Misty and Brock leaving the show. Replacing beloved characters with new faces doesn't work out most of the time. 9. Plenty of characters from the games don't make an appearance at all. Not even most of the player characters do. But still, the recasting controversy should be number one on that list. It lost millions of devoted fans that way.
Another controversial Pokémon episode is, I believe, The Legend of Dratini. The controversy came from the heavy use of firearms, especially a scene of a man aiming a gun straight at Ash’s head. The episode caused so much controversy that the episode was never aired outside of Asia, mostly Japan, and an English dub for the episode was never made.
that Unite controversary was stupid. It wasn't that big of a deal. Sure it could of been in other Presents but they wanted to do a separate trailer for it. Fans expected way too much
Wasn't the episode about a massive Tentacruel going on a seaside rampage also a controversy? Because of the imagery after 9/11, the episode was taken off the air.
Not a controversy but it was deemed "too sensitive" to show after 9/11 happened and was pulled from syndication for a few years. Also, the episode with Wishcash using earthquake got pulled for awhile after Japan had a massive earthquake.
I think that Porigon episode was the most controversial thing in Pokemon and it also the reason why Porigon and it’s evolutions are never been shown in the anime since.
Nani koray? We could have gotten the Porygon episode and make it safer to watch but Japanese laws prevented that. 0:45 I like the noise Pikachu makes here. Registeel is harder than any metal? Is it made of carbon? Pokémon got banned in Japan? But it came from there. I saw this Pichu short so apparently America got a hold of it. Wasn't the narrator male in the English version? The Flash AKA The Flop was still released despite the controversy over the main actor. 5:55 I didn't know Pikachu could make adorable squeaking noises. Pokémon just hasn't been the same without the old cast. I had trouble enjoying the newer shows because of it. The new art design also didn't help. Who thought it was good idea to change it? At least when Pokémon first went digital they added a filter to make it look older at first but kept the art style mostly the same to keep the fans happy. I just can't stand Ash's new voice. 7:26 I like how Pikachu is bitch slapping the other one. I don't the plot of the first movie held up that well. Back then I was young and wanted to see Pokémon in theaters. I think I remember this Peta parody. That bandaged Pikachu looks familiar. By the time Sword and Shield came out I kind of stopped playing Pokémon even though I tried Arceus because it was something different. I remember the Pokédex controversy well. I wore sunglasses when watching the Porygon episode. I was unfortunate enough to sample this scene beforehand. Who the hell thought this was okay? Did anyone watch the show before releasing it? I think that's required. This episode was interesting even though I haven't watched the series for awhile at the time. I think I was teased for liking Pokémon and they said Pokémon was evil because of this episode. At the time I had no idea what episode this was. Wasn't the use of guns in another episode also controversial?
No delays and halfed team (the order half was working on Legends Arceus) were the reasons why Scarlet and Violet came with inumerous glitches at launch.
hello ladies and gents I am a big fan of two franchises Pokémon and Dragon ball isn't it amazing that before CBW's Thesis no one had a problem with Jynx??and after her Thesis suddenly Gamefreak had a controversy on their hands??hmmmm I wonder???could be ???wait isn't she that rather obscure poet that no one knew about before her thesis??yup that's her!!!!she went after Toriyama and company as well and she caused the infamous SPACE SMURF YEARS!!!!!he has been seen little since those days but it isn't because of her I am thankful to say it's because of the fact that in plots like The tournament of power Dende and Mr. Popo are basically extraneous with the exception of finding people like Android 17 who don't give off energy but should they be needed again *Toriyama is not AFRAID!!!!!* Pokémon Go has worse against it than inappropriateness and believe me that was/is a big one but when I was playing Sun and Moon you can scan QR codes I almost found myself out in the street trying to scan a car I stopped myself because I have mediation training but not everyone is so lucky and Pokémon Go take it to whole other level entirely Regitsteel didn't even know that one was well I just didn't know about it and being jewish myself not sure how much of that one is real and how much is reading into a bad design decision I guess either way it ended up good but you know can't really say it even made my radar at all and I work hard to catch 'em all I personally Think they could have found another way to deal with the pikachu and pichu short problem. PETA can go fuck themselves especially after you look closely into them. I am among the Dexit people why oh why did you just take it away???
4. Well, Team Plasma IS basically an eviler PETA. And that goes double for their leader, Ghetsis. Ever since the beginning, one question has plagued the Pokemon series; "Isn't it kinda messed up to catch these creatures and make them fight each other?" And while there have been hand-wavy answers that the Pokemon WANT to fight and get stronger, or that they learn to love you as soon as they're caught, Gen 5 tackled this arguement head on by having Ghetsis make that argument and then revealing him as the least redeemable character in the franchise! Ghetsis doesn't even believe a single word of this Pokemon rights rhetoric, he LOVES using pokemon for power! 2. Hey! At least it's not as bad as REMOVING WILD POKEMON BATTLES ENTIRELY! Such as the fate that befell Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee. Give the subsequent games credit, at least you can do that in those games! This is a detrimental design decision that ACTIVELY HURTS THE GAMEPLAY LOOP because you can't grind by conventional means and you also can't have rematches with trainers in the overworld. It is for that reason why I am BAFFLED why people aren't complaining more about the Let's Go games than they are the more resent ones because they weren't THIS BAD!
Yes, porygon should be brought back to the anime. He has evolutions so they could always use porygon 2 and say the original has bugs and upgrade disk fixed him and caused him to evolve.
Some of these Pokémon episode gained controversy/ban is bc of peoples oversensitive reaction or their one-minded thinking. It's entertainment. Don't take tv so seriously
I loved watching the Pichu and Pikachu short story and and it’s still my favorite mini movie in the series shame that it was banned because the Japanese narrator was caught for drug offenses 👍❤️
Regarding Jynx: The people complaining about her pretty much showed how ignorant they were. Jynx is based on a creature from Japanese mythology called the Yama Uba. Pretty much everything regarding Jynx was based on this creature...from its looks to its connection to Christmas. Gee...the people who complained not only were ignorant of its Japanese origins, but also judged Jynx based on her LOOKS. Kinda makes you wonder who the REAL racists in this debate were?
Exactly and it’s so fucking annoying that a handful of people complained and caused a change that was never needed. People really like to just grasp at straws.
I think the banned short is kept from any play due to not wanting to have to pay royalties to a criminal and be associated with such. Logical for a children's cartoon.
😂😂Why? Why would you use a picture of Jynx as the thumbnail? It defeats the whole... You know what? No. Nope, I'm not doing this. 😁Hey, a Pokemon list! Neat. Let's find out what #1 is.
Personally, I don't think there was anything wrong with Jynx's og design, people were just looking a reason to complain. I still think that all these years since the ep 1st premiere. Same thing with #3. It's a shame that we never got to c Porygon or any of its evolved forms. DOesn't seem fair. Why couldn't the show creators make safer episodes to present them?

The entire Porygon line had paid for Pikachu’s sins.
I remember when they had to change the voices. I was angry and I wanted the old ones back so badly.
*#1 the safari zone having a revolver*
No wonder why i always thought nicki Minaj look was based on jynx😮
No delays and halfed team (the order half was working on Legends Arceus) were the reasons why Scarlet and Violet came with inumerous glitches at launch.
Cute and cuddly dog fighting? Not controversial at all!
Here’s an idea: What are some real world places that have potential to be regions in Pokémon?
wait the Tentacruel episode coinciding with 9/11 isn't in the list???
AH YES PORYGON!
A honorable mention is the tauros episode when the game keeper pulls a shotgun on ash
RIP my boy Kadabra. That is such a stretch. It’s a MATRIX reference!
I guess black life's don't better as they made jynx purple...
The episode where all those people were sent to the hospital in Japan...I was 15-16, as well as the Safari Zone.
hello ladies and gents I am a big fan of two franchises Pokémon and Dragon ball isn't it amazing that before CBW's Thesis no one had a problem with Jynx??and after her Thesis suddenly Gamefreak had a controversy on their hands??hmmmm I wonder???could be ???wait isn't she that rather obscure poet that no one knew about before her thesis??yup that's her!!!!she went after Toriyama and company as well and she caused the infamous SPACE SMURF YEARS!!!!!he has been seen little since those days but it isn't because of her I am thankful to say it's because of the fact that in plots like The tournament of power Dende and Mr.
Is peta really worth mentioning as a controversy? That's like reporting a brawl between toddlers at the local daycare
At least that explains why Pichu is disliked by the Pokemon company and hasn’t had a card since then. It’s too bad bc Pichu is my favorite Pokemon.
Whats wrong with the unites company?
Can you do a list of the top 10 worst Pokemon episodes.
Hey, the Let's Go games weren't bad, just different. They were made to make it easier for Pokémon GO players to get into the core series games.
It’s very interesting that they did that. Almost like a swipe at identity politics!
I'm Shocked that No One has mentioned The Kalos League final Screwjob in the Anime or The Sun & Moon Anime Redesign of Ash!
Porygon should appear in the new series. It's not fair with it.
Yes, porygon should be brought back to the anime. He has evolutions so they could always use porygon 2 and say the original has bugs and upgrade disk fixed him and caused him to evolve.
And somehow the whole controversy of trapping creatures just so they can beat the crap out of each other never phased anyone.
Y'all forgot the beauty and the beach episode. How y'all forgot that one??
Ppl making stuff up and being offended for others. Same with Mr popo in dbz. So lame
@@danieln6700 EXACTLY! In fact, wasn't Mr. Popo ALSO based on something from Japanese mythology? I forget what, unfortunately...
Where is the Tobias battle?
And that why we never see porygon 2 and prorygon z in the anime because of what happened to that porygon episode
Number one pick was obvious
How come the Dragonite Episode and Safari zone one aren't here? Including the 9/11 tentacruel one and Team Rocket's crossdressing.
POKEMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And porygon was innocent in everything i feel bad for it never getting an appearance since tech pikachu caused the problem
I never gave into Pokémon Go, and after hearing of people trespassing on properties, or even putting themselves in danger, was a great decision.
It helps when you spoof. There's always a workaround for gps inspired games.
I think the banned short is kept from any play due to not wanting to have to pay royalties to a criminal and be associated with such. Logical for a children's cartoon.
Jelly donut
Jynx cost lots of problems with it's original design.
(I'm SOOOOOOOOO gonna die for saying this but) i like jynx no matter what her color
I'm posible que no te preocupes por el momento😅
Justice for Porygon
The porygon one will always be yhe worst
Niki minaj?
Jyinci minaj
I just found a pokemon that looks a bit uncomforting
As great as pokemon is its had its fair share of controversies
😂😂Why? Why would you use a picture of Jynx as the thumbnail? It defeats the whole... You know what? No. Nope, I'm not doing this. 😁Hey, a Pokemon list! Neat. Let's find out what #1 is.
Oldest reason on the Web: clickbait.
Top Ten Things The Pokémon Franchise Needs
1. Voice Acting
Or you need to grow up lmao
It was pikachus fault not porygon. Just want to make that clear.
Jinx jinx jinx
"Shut up, b¡tch, you love it!" -Mr. Popo
African American stereotypes but not just African right?...😏
Like #300 for the laughs I got remembering the Nikki Minaj controversy 😂😂😂
Thanks for the new video WatchMojo and go hug your furbabies all 💙🐱💙
