I watch just about every video in regards to the pocket 3 to see if I miss anything. I normally never feel like I do and walk away learning nothing. Your video gave me like 10 things I didnt know about and I listened tot he whole thing. VERY well done video, very good tips and very appreciative of your time. Hello and thank you from the USA! thanks mate, means a lot 😎 glad u learnt some bits from it! and omg Florida?!? my favourite place!!! I was only there the other month around the theme parks!
@@james.loxton that’s awesome! Up, right here in Orlando, so near where you were lol. Or you come back, hit me up! Can give you a tour of the city, good and bad. 😂
Hey thanks dude. Absolutely brilliant video. I've just bought a pocket 3 & the files wouldn't play in my editing software. Looked for hours online. Downloaded some BS software. Got some malware crap. Got my mate to sort computer. Then found your video. You not only told me how to fix that issue, but I learnt other stuff too. Well put together video. Thank you so much..
These tips are gold, and thank you so much for doing them. And yes, the selfie flip should be a monitor flip only and the camera should always record in the correct perspective. I've had this discussion with the developers at PRISM Live studio and this is not an isolated situation. it's much more natural to talk into a camera when it looks like a mirror because as you said, that's what we are used to. I would love to have my own image as a mirror, but have the video record in the correct perspective. Maybe a firmware update? who am I kidding! DJI listens to no one! My magnet does fit into the case while it's attached to the clip on the microphone. Just put the magnet towards the top of the clip.
no problem 😊 yeah the selfie flip mode really caught me out!… thanks for the info regarding the magnet, can’t believe I couldn’t figure that out haha 😂 I was thinking why has DJI made it so the magnet doesn’t fit inside hence why I was trying to find a way round it
@@james.loxton after using the P3 the other day, I used your tip for locking the gimbal and rotating it into portrait mode, thus preserving the 4k resolution. I want to really thank you for making me feel like an idiot, lol. That really works and for me is the #1 tip you gave us, and that piece of information really should be in the User Manual! Nice work man.
I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the incredibly informative and comprehensive tips & tricks video you created. Your attention to detail and the depth of insights shared were truly remarkable. I received my P3 today as it took ages to get back in stock here in The Netherlands. Thank you for your dedication to helping others learn and improve. Your video has been an invaluable resource for me, and I'm sure many others feel the same way. I look forward to applying these tips in my own P3, thanks to your guidance. I will soon use it in my own vlogs (totally different genre) 😉
ah thanks man! really means a lot 😎 glad u took loads away from it, seeing comments like this makes it all worth while! I’m sure ur loving it by now! good luck with it 👍🏾
Easily the best how-to-use video I've seen on the Pocket 3. Great job! I've had mine for a few weeks and thought I knew it well (I also have the Pocket 1) but I learned some things here. Now I'll jump over and watch your Action 4 videos (I also have one).
This is a legendary video. What would make it even more LEGENDARY is if there was time stamps. I got mine a few days ago and I finally have some time today to take it out for spin.
Just to let you know, the magnet should actually be attached to the bottom of the mic when storing in the case. If you look there's a section the magnet sticks too. That's their design although I'm concerned it may come off during movement but have a try 👍
@james.loxton no probs. Great video though. I've just got one hence trawling through review videos. Gonna be using it on my vids going forward if I can ever get out in this crap weather 😂
To be honest at first I wasn't sure as this is the first time I've watched one of your videos. after about 10 minutes in I actually found you really good ,some of the things I've learnt from your video I haven't found them anybody else's. you're very clear and what you say and you also put in a bit of humour in which is brilliant. There is to many TH-cam videos out there which are boring , you come across as a person who just "say it as it is" with the a little mistake here and there who cares that's all part of the entertainment and getting the message across which is brilliant . I will definitely be watching some of the more of your videos . and thanks to you I've now just ordered one of these pocket 3 combo 😄😄 happy days ... 🍻
Bought one for my trip abroad and decided to start blogging. Thank you so much for this super helpful video. You even covered the instagram dimension you need if recording content for that platform. I'm checking out more videos. Cheers
Have to say this was the best explanation of the DJI pocket 3 .. Keep doing what you do as you do it well...Just a small tip....The mic magnet will stay on the clip if slid to the top..You can still fit mic into handle and the magnet is safe and easy to get at.
ah wow! thank u very much! means a lot reading that 😎 and yes thanks for that tip, a couple of people commented before saying the same thing and I still can’t believe I couldn’t work that one out 😂😇
Thank you so much for putting this together. I'm waiting for B&H to restock the OP3 before getting mine. Thanks to you I am well prepared to use my OP3 when I have it.
I think this is the first time I fully watched a TH-cam tutorial that is longer than 10 minutes. These tips are awesome, funny, and convenient. Had a good laugh watching this too. Thank you! I bet my Pocket 3 skills are improved now. Subscribed to your channel, so I hope you will make more awesome stuff. Cheers!
Thanks so much for this! Though I do want to mention that I've learned 1:1 is no longer the optimal ratio for IG, vertical 3:4 or 16:9 is because it doesn't allow for other posts to be seen on screen along with your post. Not sure what the use cases are for 1:1 anymore.
Awesome video, just got one! What recording settings do you use. Love the color as well! Thanks for all the tips. Best Pocket 3 video i've seen out there!🔥🔥
ahh thanks man 😎 glad u found it useful! the whole video was literally shot in auto mode and no adjustments were made, that’s how good it is, the colors it gives out in auto are just 😍
the magnet actually can sit on the mic inside the hard case , it just has to be in the top side , I was also confused about this at first but actually it fits pretty well
ปีที่แล้ว
nice to see that you find a workaround so complicated 😄
11:37 one can also let them be connectet and then activate the Backup Audio inside the pocket 3. In this way the pocket 3 records the Audio of its internal microphone in an audio file and the Audio from mic2 in the Video file and the mic2 is recording its Audio internal if activated.
What a great comprehensive collection of tips for the Pocket 3. Thanks for spending all this time testing and collating them. There were several items that was doing my head in, ie Zoom Control and Slefie Flip. Well explained and sorted. Cheers.
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve just bought a Pocket 3 before I go abroad (first time in 5 years!) and I found these tips super helpful. Love your work.
Great tips, thanks. Now, all I need now is to get my hands on a pocket. 3. Tried everywhere in the UK, but at this time, no joy. Hopefully, they will be available soon. 🙏
thanks mate 😎 ahh that’s a pain! I was gonna say get it from Amazon cos they’re usually really good with stock levels but I’ve just looked and even they are sold out atm 😮 …it’ll be worth the wait when u finally get it!
This is masterful. How did you remember it all?. Actually, this makes a great review video for anyone trying to decide whether to buy it because you describe the features so well, and cover so many if them. Great, thanks!
Great work on this video! I went out shooting with my DJIOP3 yesterday and was just guessing some of the settings I appreciate your video for the tips & tricks I wasn’t aware of. Now time to shoot some video cheers!
thanks mate 😎 ahh haha, yeah someone commented the same yesterday and I still can’t believe I couldn’t figure that one out 🤦🏽♂️ hence why I tried to find a way round it, but thanks for pointing that out 👍🏾
Thanks James for your detailed videos. I have just bought the Pocket 3 to use on my channel. You convinced me to go for it. You also make the videos interesting and I love your style 😜
Brilliant video James. I've watched many other videos but this one is unmissable. A wealth of information that I didn't know about from the other videos.
22:28 Place the magnet on top of the mic2's own clothing clip. the mic 2 will fit perfectly into the case, without having to put the magnet in place of the wide lens or anywhere else
James, thank you. This has been very, very helpful. One suggestion to make your presentation even better, just say what you're teaching us once. You're repeating everything twice. As viewers, we can always just rewind a bit to hear what you said again if necessary. That will eliminate redundancy and make you sound like a pro. Overall, really good stuff here.
It's been a few days after I bought the Pocket 3, and I've been trying to learn how to use it (this is my first DJI product ever). So there's still some things I'm unclear about. This video has been SUPER helpful in explaining all the little tricks I need to know how to use the device! So glad the algorithm recommended me this video. Thanks so much! My one question is, did you shoot all your clips in the default color that DJI has or did you shoot in D-Log and then color graded in post? I love the colors from your selfie mode footage while you were walking on the trails. Apologies if this is a silly question
no problem 😎 glad u found it useful! it’s an amazing little camera and so easy to use so once you’ve played around with it a few times you’ll be all fine! in terms of the colors and mode, the selfie shots were literally shot in auto mode with no adjustments made at all! that’s how good it is! good luck with it all! 😎
The magnet can remain on the mic2 when you put it into the case, just slide the magnet up closer towards the top of the mic as opposed to the bottom...
Just got myself the DJI pocket 3 to up my video recording game. As such, looked around TH-cam for a beginner guide which took me awhile to find a well explained, straightforward and detailed video. But hey, got there in the end as found your video. Great guide! got me up and running in no time. PS. Best tip, you had me in stitches with the mic placement in the washbag...Thanks as removed 😂
Amazing Tips and Hints!!! Thank you soooo much… But: although I was able to connect the mic 2 with my iPhone 14pro via Bluetooth it didn’t worked as a microphone…😢 Do I need any other software or configuration? Keep on this fantastic work!!
thanks man 😎 glad they helped u out! ahh that’s annoying, it did take me several attempts to get it working with my iPhone, u don’t need any additional software or to do anything special, literally just connect it and it should work… maybe try turning ur iPhone on/off or Bluetooth on/off, like i said, it took me a while to get it working but it definitely works once connected
You should ask for recommended upgrade features for the Osmo Pocket 4 and put it in a future video. Do an appeal for a proactive wish list from your subscribers. My first wish would be 12 bit raw or log & in the square mod (3840x3840) for optimal reframing. 240 f/a in 4k would blow away all opposition. We can all dream. Great video lad. Cheers
thanks man 😎 the pocket 3 has only just come out 😂 if the upgrade from the p2 to p3 has been this big u just know that the p4 will be even better when it eventually happens, unlike other brands DJI do listen to the people so 🤞🏾
@@james.loxton They will listen to you. Originally they produced a Osmo camera that accepted interchangeable lenses. It was originally was 1080p. I would like them to bring back that design and that it be an intermediate camera between the Osmo Pocket 3 and the DJI Ronin 4D. It would be a shallow depth of field, killer. It should have a optical low pass filter to suppress moire and be 4k. Dream big my friend. Thanks for the reply guy,.
Pocket 3 uses the eXFat file allocation system which has a capacity to address files up to a maximum file size of 16 Exabytes! So DJI have imposed their own limitation here. The old 4GB limitation was the limitation of FAT32 file allocation table (system).
Nice review .. much appreciate, may i ask a Q i loved how the colors looked from the Dji 3 in your video have you done any color grade to it and which color mode you activate while recording ? thanks
no problem 😎 all the shots in the video that were shot on the pocket 3 were literally shot in auto mode, no adjustments made to any of them! auto mode does an amazing job most of the time!
great video! I have one of these on order to record my electrical installation videos on my channel, you answered a lot of my questions so thank you! on ly question I have is... when im recording, currently I use a GoPro hero 11 on a selfie stick tripod, do you have any recommendations for a tripod for the pocket 3? absolutely subscribed by the way ✌
I'm getting one of this pocket soon.. thank you for nice tips and tricks! Just wondering how did you get the rich blue sky colour? Is that a post editing thing or pocket 3 have its on setting which we can adjust ourself? Btw you on glamour effect is so funny, made me laugh 😂
haha 😂 trust me it shocked me as well the first time I used the glamour effects! ahh ur gonna love it when u get it! sooo, all the clips shot with the pocket 3 in the video are literally straight out the camera, no adjustments have been made AND it was shot in auto mode! just shows u how great the dynamic range is!
60 tips! Thats plenty🙂 About the DJI mics, were you able to get the original Pocket 2 wireless mic to work with the P3? Selfie Flip mode. For the life of me I cant imagine its true purpose other than what you said about being familiar with how you look in the mirror. But to actually have a switch in the menu?🤔

I’m sure ur loving it by now! good luck with it 👍🏾
You answered all my questions and I also learned a few things I didn't know was possible. Excellent video.Thank you!
no problem! glad u found it useful 😎
Brilliant!
Many thanks.
I wish that you could guide us on the gimbal functions too.
thanks, glad u liked it 😎
Easily the best how-to-use video I've seen on the Pocket 3. Great job! I've had mine for a few weeks and thought I knew it well (I also have the Pocket 1) but I learned some things here. Now I'll jump over and watch your Action 4 videos (I also have one).
ahh wow! thanks man 😎 means a lot reading that, glad u learnt some bits and pieces from it!
Many good tips, thanks ! Tip 61: YOU CAN attach the mic to the case WITH the magnet if you put it high up.
haha yeah thanks, a couple of people commented saying the same thing before, can’t believe I missed that one 😂😇
Love the video James. Deffo an expert with this camera, and it was one of your videos that inspired me to buy one 😁😁
thanks man! glad u liked it and made the purchase 🥳
This is a legendary video. What would make it even more LEGENDARY is if there was time stamps. I got mine a few days ago and I finally have some time today to take it out for spin.
thanks man 😎 hope ur enjoying it, it’s a real little beast!
Just to let you know, the magnet should actually be attached to the bottom of the mic when storing in the case. If you look there's a section the magnet sticks too. That's their design although I'm concerned it may come off during movement but have a try 👍
yeah thanks mate! a couple of people commenting the same thing, still can’t believe I missed that haha 😂😇
Thanks to you I am well prepared to use my OP3 when I have it.
no problem 😎 ur gonna love it when it comes, such an amazing little beast!
congratulations on the video. I thought I already knew a lot, but I learned so much more. gratitude.
thanks man 😎 glad u learnt some bits from it!
What a brilliant, straight to the point, overview. Nicely presented without any faff.
thank u, thank u 😎
I think this is the first time I fully watched a TH-cam tutorial that is longer than 10 minutes. These tips are awesome, funny, and convenient. Had a good laugh watching this too. Thank you! I bet my Pocket 3 skills are improved now. Subscribed to your channel, so I hope you will make more awesome stuff. Cheers!
ah! thank u! glad u found it entertaining & useful 😎 good luck with it and welcome!
Thanks so much for this! Though I do want to mention that I've learned 1:1 is no longer the optimal ratio for IG, vertical 3:4 or 16:9 is because it doesn't allow for other posts to be seen on screen along with your post. Not sure what the use cases are for 1:1 anymore.
no problem 😎 ohh! nice info, thanks 👍🏾
Awesome video, just got one! What recording settings do you use. Love the color as well! Thanks for all the tips. Best Pocket 3 video i've seen out there!🔥🔥
ahh thanks man 😎 glad u found it useful! the whole video was literally shot in auto mode and no adjustments were made, that’s how good it is, the colors it gives out in auto are just 😍
Best osmo pocket 3 settings video ive watched so far! Happy new year to you king
ah thank u 😎 glad u found it useful! happy new year 🥳
You talk my language. Effortlessly listenable and informative, thanks mate 😎
woohoo! glad u liked it man 😎
Thank you very much, that was a very precise explanation of the DJI OSMO Pocket 3... GREAT!
ahh no problem man! glad it helped u out 😎
the magnet actually can sit on the mic inside the hard case , it just has to be in the top side , I was also confused about this at first but actually it fits pretty well
nice to see that you find a workaround so complicated 😄
omg haha thanks for this!!!! can’t believe I couldn’t work it out 😂😂 I was thinking why the hell have they made it so it doesn’t fit in
@@james.loxton you are welcome , it took me some time as well , I was ready to doubt the engineers at Dji 😂
@@james.loxton also if you use a cable lav mic with it it has a routing channel for the cable inside the clip mecanism
Dude, you're a genius! Thank you for this awesome breakdown of all the features.
ah thanks man 😎 means a lot! glad it helped u out!
Saved a lot of RnD period .. Thanks!
ah man! thanks so much! really appreciate the support! glad u found the video useful!
Cheers.
thanks 😎 glad u found it useful and it answered some of ur questions!
This is THE best tips video out there, hands down, mic dropped. Excellent reference. SUBSCRIBED.
ah thanks man! thanks for ur support and welcome aboard 😎
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve just bought a Pocket 3 before I go abroad (first time in 5 years!) and I found these tips super helpful. Love your work.
thanks man 😎 glad u found it useful! enjoy ur trip and ur new toy!
Great video with soo many tips no one else is talking about! Thank you!
thanks! glad u found it useful 😎
The magnet for the mic transmitter does fit on the clip! I just push the magnet forward and its there together with the mic :)
ahhh I know I know 😂😂 someone commented the same yesterday and I was like ahhh how the hell did I miss that 🤦🏽♂️
Great tips, thanks.
This was SO helpful! I couldn’t figure out why my joystick was zooming in and out! 😆 Thanks for clearing that up
ahh no problem! glad it helped u figure it out 😎
Nice for sharing your video tips and tricks. It's very informative, thanks really good 👍
no problem! glad u found it helpful 😎
@@james.loxton thanks a lot ❤️
This is masterful. How did you remember it all?. Actually, this makes a great review video for anyone trying to decide whether to buy it because you describe the features so well, and cover so many if them. Great, thanks!

It was only this video that really made me want to buy it, demand your share in this deal 🙂
that’s amazing to hear 😎 ….haha, I wish 😂 anyway, I’m sure ur loving it?
Excellent.... Thank you
Have you increased saturation of your footage? It looks great
thanks 😎 and no problem! in this video yes, saturation was increased slightly
Awesome video thanks for the tips. Only one thing the magnet does fit while on the mic clip. Just have to adjust it slightly.
thanks mate 😎 ahh haha, yeah someone commented the same yesterday and I still can’t believe I couldn’t figure that one out 🤦🏽♂️ hence why I tried to find a way round it, but thanks for pointing that out 👍🏾
great tutorial video and such a beautiful nature, well done! thank you.

Proper Good Job James - Really appreciate the amount of work that’s gone into this Vid and have got a lot out of it - Thanks mate!

Brilliant video James. I've watched many other videos but this one is unmissable. A wealth of information that I didn't know about from the other videos.

Thank you so much for such a great informative video on this cool little beast!
no problem man 😎 glad u liked it!
Thanks man , all of these tips are really good!! LOVED IT
thanks mate 😎 glad u found it useful!
22:28 Place the magnet on top of the mic2's own clothing clip. the mic 2 will fit perfectly into the case, without having to put the magnet in place of the wide lens or anywhere else
yeah thanks, had a few comments saying the same haha! can’t believe I missed that one 🤦🏽♂️
James, thank you. This has been very, very helpful. One suggestion to make your presentation even better, just say what you're teaching us once. You're repeating everything twice. As viewers, we can always just rewind a bit to hear what you said again if necessary. That will eliminate redundancy and make you sound like a pro. Overall, really good stuff here.
thanks mate 😎 glad u found it useful! appreciate ur feedback and ill take it on board going forward
Thank you James. You are providing an important and valuable service to all of us.@@james.loxton
DJI mic 2 magnet fits… just move it towards the hinge on the clip and it’ll fit in the case no problem
yeahhh haha I know now 😂 someone else pointed it out the other day, can’t believe I couldn’t work that one out 🤦🏽♂️
AMAZING! Thank you so much! Best video I’ve seen on the pocket 3
ahh thanks! glad it helped u 😎
vibing your channel bro, looking forward to explosive growth 🚀📸
ahh thanks man 😎 means a lot! yeah, we got this 🚀🚀
Wow! Thank you for making this! I learned so much!
no problem 😎 glad u found it useful!
Bravo!
Excelentes tutoriales, gracias por la guía. Sigue adelante.
thank u 😎 more to come don’t u worry 🚀
These were extreamly imformative. Thank you! Question: Have you tried live stream to Instagram and TikTok? How does it perform?
thanks man 😎 glad u found it useful! I haven’t actually tried to livestream with it yet so not too sure how it performs in that area
The magnet can remain on the mic2 when you put it into the case, just slide the magnet up closer towards the top of the mic as opposed to the bottom...
yeah thanks, a couple people commented the same thing before. still can’t believe I missed that 😇
Great video bud !
thanks mate 😎
This video should be copied to a MicroSD card and included in each DJI Pocket 3 shipped from the factory! Outstanding information....Thanks so much!
ahh wow! thanks man 😎 really means a lot reading that! glad it helped u out!
Great video love - I just bought the creator combo and your video is better than any materials DJI has available. Ask them for a check!!! 😉
hahaa 😂 I wish! anyway thank u, glad u found it useful!
Just got myself the DJI pocket 3 to up my video recording game. As such,
looked around TH-cam for a beginner guide which took me awhile to find a well explained, straightforward and detailed video. But hey, got there in the end as found your video. Great guide! got me up and running in no time. PS. Best tip, you had me in stitches with the mic placement in the washbag...Thanks as removed 😂
ahh that’s great to hear! glad it helped u out 😎 and haha yeah I’ve lost a lot of fur by making that mistake 😂
Amazing Tips and Hints!!!
Thank you soooo much…
But: although I was able to connect the mic 2 with my iPhone 14pro via Bluetooth it didn’t worked as a microphone…😢
Do I need any other software or configuration?
Keep on this fantastic work!!
thanks man 😎 glad they helped u out! ahh that’s annoying, it did take me several attempts to get it working with my iPhone, u don’t need any additional software or to do anything special, literally just connect it and it should work… maybe try turning ur iPhone on/off or Bluetooth on/off, like i said, it took me a while to get it working but it definitely works once connected
Thanks, everthing that I was searching!!! Amazing video 🚀
glad it helped u out 😎
You should ask for recommended upgrade features for the Osmo Pocket 4 and put it in a future video.
I would like them to bring back that design and that
it be an intermediate camera between the Osmo Pocket 3 and the DJI Ronin 4D. It would be a shallow depth of field, killer. It should have a optical low pass filter to suppress moire and be 4k. Dream big my friend. Thanks for the reply guy,.
What a great tutorial!! Thank you very much!!
thank u & ur welcome 😎 glad it helped u out!
Awesome guide, thank you!
glad u found it useful 😎
Pocket 3 uses the eXFat file allocation system which has a capacity to address files up to a maximum file size of 16 Exabytes! So DJI have imposed their own limitation here. The old 4GB limitation was the limitation of FAT32 file allocation table (system).
oh interesting! thanks for the info 👍🏾
This is really really useful, thank you
no problem 😎 glad u found it useful
Nice review .. much appreciate, may i ask a Q i loved how the colors looked from the Dji 3 in your video have you done any color grade to it and which color mode you activate while recording ? thanks
no problem 😎 all the shots in the video that were shot on the pocket 3 were literally shot in auto mode, no adjustments made to any of them! auto mode does an amazing job most of the time!
great video! I have one of these on order to record my electrical installation videos on my channel, you answered a lot of my questions so thank you! on ly question I have is... when im recording, currently I use a GoPro hero 11 on a selfie stick tripod, do you have any recommendations for a tripod for the pocket 3? absolutely subscribed by the way ✌
thanks and welcome 😎 glad u found it useful… so, I use the insta360 selfie stick tripod with the pocket 3 amzn.to/46Pja0V
Very helpful and more than enough informations. Thank you mate🙏
no probs man 😎
I'm getting one of this pocket soon.. thank you for nice tips and tricks!
I’ve never actually had the mic for the pocket 2 so not really sure if it works or not… and yeah, the selfie flip mode really caught me out haha 😇😂
You made a VERY GOOD video, THANK YOU!
thank u 😎 glad u found it useful!
FANTASTIC video!
thank u 😎
