Instead of running from Bowser and pressing a switch to defeat him, you're forced to fight him head on

The first time Bowser grows giant for the final battle is Super Mario Sunshine, then next, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, then Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Bowser was giant for most of the game, but he grows even bigger after faking his death in the final battle), then New Super Mario Bros. 2, and finally, this: New Super Mario Bros. U. That is a total of five times when Bowser grows giant for the final battle.
