@imthatguy89 Totally! It’s so hard to see those covered components. It would be cool if we could just freely rotate and zoom in on a model of the machine.
I really love how there are so many different ways to take down a big machine. I never knew Tremortusks had shock coils, so thank you! I prefer fighting at a distance, by tearing off all four tusks with tear arrows, then braced shot to the blaze sack on the belly, which burns the machine. Then a few spikes and it's down. But that only works for me at level 50 with upgraded purple weapons. I wish I had seen your tutorial when I was a lower level, because I struggled so much with that Tremortusk at the Raintrace hunting grounds.
@Lissbirds Glad you found this interesting/helpful! I agree it’s great how we have so many options for how to approach a machine fight. I’ll never be able to cover them all unfortunately, but I hope my videos give people ideas they haven’t thought of before!
Absolutely loving this series! Just when I think I know everything about these big machines, I learn something new from your videos! I had *no idea* about the shock canisters!

haha for the tremortusk at that location you can also cheese it by hiding on high ground tall grass and keep shooting sharpshot arrow at long range and then hide
I wasn't hip to the shock canisters at all; I'm inclined to just douse machines in purgewater, then dump shock arrows into them, then harvest their resources. I do this with Thunderjaw tails. Your approach is a little more resource efficient. Philosophical question...what's the point of getting the gold weapons? By the time I get these more OP weapons, I don't need them because I will usually have finished the main and side quests. Is it bragging rights? Is it revenge on machines that one-shotted us? This whole series is gold...keep up the good work.
@Furious Styles Good point with purgewater. That’s certainly a good approach too. I just prefer to take advantage of canisters when I can for efficiency. I also use purgewater on Thunderjaws a lot! Interesting question. I agree it does seem like your purple weapons are pretty strong by the time you can get the legendary ones. I think it’s best to think of the legendary weapons as “end game” gear. Meaning they’re kind of a reward for completing most/all of the game and just make your life easier if you like hunting machines and such after you’ve finished most everything else. That being said, they’ll be super strong for NG+…
Another great video! According to the official HFW guide, to fully upgrade all the items it takes 151 Tremortusk Tusks! So your guide and associated strategies are going to be very useful. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to your next video!
@Pantharian Thanks for sharing that tip! Wait, you got a copy of the official guide!? I’ve had it on order for months and I still don’t have it! When did you get it and where did you order from?
Hey Artix, excellent video as always. Incidentally my friend, with regards to the volley of shock orbs, you can actually just shoot those with your hunter bow before they reach you :)
Thanks! And yes, I forgot to mention shooting the orbs. I always forget about that because it doesn’t make sense to me that you can shoot them lol. Especially since you can’t shoot the ice blasts from the Shellsnapper…🤔
Pretty much what I do, although until I got the Death-Seeker's bow, I would use purge water and then electrocute it. Now, I just hunt Apexes. :D. Love your videos. Thumbs up as always.
I caved to my temptation to lower the difficulty. I spent two days farming them on hard (first playthrough), but although the experience was great the first few times, it became very time consuming. At first I used the tear precision arrows, but I quickly realized it wasn't efficient because Machine Muscle and Echo shells are a grind in themselves. I never have enough because everything requires them. And since my weapons don't have too many slots for coils or fully upgraded, each tusk takes 6 arrows... But I figured, since I reached level 50, killed every machine and their apex variants, I'm not robbing myself of anything. I'm just conserving my time. On story mode, I hunt the Tremortusk and three Clawstriders near the Raintree hunting ground. That's 4 tremor tusks and three Clawstrider razor tails within seconds. I farmed like 12,000 shards within an hour, but I admit I feel like shit for it.
Great video these are one of toughest machines to take down I usually leave a few purge water traps in their path then blast them with freeze weapons. Look out for their all round defence weapons,, even the "wild" ones are armed like fortresses
Excellent video. Very informative and simple to follow. I feel mich more comfortable running into battle with them now. I have found it is one of the few games in which I get immersed into so should be fun leveling this gold bow and armor. Keep up the great work and will checkout a few more of your videos tonight before I play

Another easy way to shock the tremortusk is when it starts to fire its shock cannons if you shoot the projectiles while they are still close to the tremortusk they will explode dealing shock. Since the projectiles come out slow you have time.
@Branden Graves! Yes! Thank you! I always forget about that because it doesn’t make any sense to me that you can shoot them 😂 Especially when you can’t shoot the Shellsnapper ice blasts 🤔 Shooting the shock orbs can be a good tactic for shocking the Apex Tremortusk!
Thanks for this videos!, I have followed them for a while and your guides on how to kill dangerous machinnes. Just as I did when I played HZD, I have neglected the side quest and jobs to upgrade my weapons, armors and resources/quiver/pouches and I'm here now, doing every side quest and job to got that before ending the main quest, and this guides have really helped me! Now I would like to ask for a guide on Slaughterspines, I have met a few, and kill some, but it always takes a big toll on my health and resources, I'd really appreciate it if you put it on your list! Thanks again!
@Pablo Andrés Reyes Pizarro Thank you! I'm glad you're finding these helpful! I'll definitely be doing a Slaughterspine video. They are very tough! Slitherfangs are next!
While it's probably known by now, you can also use purgewater to activate the drenched state, nullifying the shock resistance on the Tremortusk. Although it's probably not resource-friendly in the slightest, especially if you are farming up resources for Ultra Hard difficulty, it's another way to get the elemental state that you need to be activated.
Tremortusk are absolutely the hardest things to kill in the game. I was really put off by just how easy it was to kill the far zenith robot boss, but how hard tremortusk boss was.
@@ArktixOfficial it did. Don't put much effort into the far zenith machine videos. All they require is the one shotgun with ice and plasma. Terribly easy for such an advanced tech
Another way to shock him: shoot shock blasts when tremortusk using his lightning gun. On very hard it is enough to fully shock it. On ultra hard - need a bit of follow up))
7:29 Fun fact: these shock orbs can be destroyed by shooting them, and the small explosion from a shock orb will most likely destroy almost if not all the other shock orbs, like if you didn’t know 👇
@Karam Ashour Yes! Thanks for mentioning this. I always forget about that because it doesn't make sense to me that you can hit them lol. Especially when you can't shoot the Shellsnapper's ice blasts 🤨 But yeah shooting them is totally a good way to get rid of them, and actually it's a pretty good way to shock the Apex variant too!
to get the tusks just use hunter arrows with high component tear then aim slide for slowdown then use concentration while aim sliding for even more slowdown makes it easy to hit then repeat 3 times and you have all of them. done. save restart save and repeat
You have great videos man just need to expand the games you have videos on and you’ll be big. I understand that would mean playing games you don’t like though😂😂
I will tell u the best and easy way to farm tremor tusk. Go to the icy area tremor tusk stand on top of the nearest mountain and keep aiming and shooting with sharpshot or advanced hunter arrows. That's enough. Most of the tremor tusk attacks can't reach you but if a few are reaching then u can see them clearly from above and dodging becomes easier. Also the best timing for hitting the tusk is when it releases those shock balls, at that time it stays still in one place.
i open this fight with part breaker + tear blast arrows, will break off any part in one shot, usually multiple parts per blast. will for sure blow off two ammo drums per arrow. start by shooting off the turrets so you can use them later to finish him off after you've blown off everything you want.
Can you do a series on machine strike? Everyone else glosses over it. Got through beginner and intermediate but still mostly guessing the moves. Incidentally, Guerilla nerfed the weapons in the arena from the defaulted upgraded weapons that everyone strives for in this game so it made it easier for me to go to story mode because it felt like a contract had been broken. But you are right. The challenge is in upping the difficulty.
Ah yeah that was a little weird when they adjust the weapon stats. Lots of people turn the difficulty down for the Arena, so I wouldn’t worry about that at all. I might do a Strike video/series at some point. I’m not sure how popular it is though. For some tips, you can check out huntks guide that I have linked in my resource database: docs.google.com/document/d/1kqnT60Mwbo5RQDuR7HConIp2bVEKw07KmakupoiZ8oY/edit
Dude... Dont you know!? You can actually shoot the electric orbs the Tremmortusk shoots! Personally, I always start off the fight by first destroying the Tremmortusk's blaze sac using a "Braced Shot" and then immediately begin targeting the electric orb gun.
@Daan Duijker Yes! Thank you for mentioning that. I always forget you can shoot the orbs because it doesn’t make sense to me lol. Especially when you can’t shoot the Shellsnapper’s ice blasts 🤔
Nice Video. Very Hard and Easy Loot all the way :D I got annoyed with not getting the components after killing the maschines because while I understand that if I destroy them (Braced Shot) that they are gone. But leaving them intact and killing the maschine should not destroy the component :D It just makes no sense to me and thus I turned Easy Loot on before even reaching Plainsong :D And even through I did it I actually remove most component anyway since it deals a good amount of damage. But nothing is more annoying than searching that stupid stormbird canon after removing it 🤮
@Ri_Shin_M Yeah I agree it doesn’t make any sense that the components would be destroyed when the machine dies if you didn’t destroy them yourself. Easy Loot + Very Hard is definitely a legit combo 👍🏼
I put a personal spin on the whole 'resource' destruction as Hephaestus realizing you need materials from his creations and built in a 'self destruct' system on most of the resources as a way to keep you from getting them normally. But yes tracking some of the components down after a fight is ridiculous in certain battles or areas; stuff seems to get rag-dolled or seem to outright teleport what would feel like miles from where the battle occurred (happens a lot for slitherfang grinders, scorcher ears, dreadwing fangs, and stormbird cannons)
Awesome! And congrats on getting the Sunshot! There’s lots of cool combinations that work well. Personally, I like a combination of agility damage coils and tear/component gear coils.
#Rexolf101 Thanks! I'm not quite sure where it's looking like a tusk got destroyed, but I can confirm none of the tusks were destroyed. I looted all 4 after that fight (not shown in the video). I've never had the shock explosion destroy a tusk. The only way tusks get destroyed is if they're still on the the Tremortusk when it dies.
I love this game so much but theres something i regret doing while playing. The thing is that i played this game too fast and didnt discover most of the fun new things as the arena until i finished the story, and i definetly think i could enjoy the game much more if i played it more calm and explore eveeything before
Has anyone noticed if taking out the ammo drums first does it actually have effect on any of the guns firing on you? I keep trying to take these out on the tramertusk and also thunderjaw but they both tend to turn their fronts to you. Just wondering if it works so they can't fire as well then maybe you can grab some other materials that are harder to get since you can't spend alot of time aiming while being blasted to hell.
Ah yeah, so removing the ammo drums doesn't disable any attacks, unfortunately. They just contain some good resources. It's best to remove the canons and guns directly if you're looking to disable attacks.
What is the skilled called when it’s like four stripes when you have fully soomed in with a bow. What is that skilled called.? Would be really greatfull if someone answered.
Yes! I always forget about that because it makes no sense to me that you can hit them lol. Especially when you can't hit the Shellsnapper ice blasts??? Lol. Anyway, yes, you can totally shoot the shock orbs!
I'm on PS5. Not sure what looks different, especially if you're watching my videos on the same TV? Do you have performance mode on? I personally think the 60FPS makes it look way better. Maybe that's the difference.
@EternalWindTWR Oh yes! Thanks for bringing that up! I always forget about that because it makes zero sense to me that you can’t shoot them lol. But yeah you can totally shoot them out if the air! It’s actually a fairly effective way to shock the Apex variant too…
Its so annoying when you accidentally kill machines lol. I wish we had the harvesting arrows from zero dawn which you could use to get components off dead machines by shooting them. The arrows could be found on very rare sharpshot bows. It was so nice farming blaze canisters on grazers with them.
I’m late to the party but hopefully you see this and answer: you say enemies drop the 25% component tear coils. I got one from the dreadwing in the main story but can’t find anymore. Where are they?
Hi! I don’t think I said that, but if I did, that is incorrect. You can’t get component tear from machine drops. There’s only one per playthrough and it’s that one from the Dreadwing in Seeds of the Past. I did a video on how to get every coil with a link to my spreadsheet on all their locations.
The tremortusk in the desert is no bueno. I hit shock twice on him and both time the tusks actually go under the sand and one time the tusk even went underground once it shot off.
I'd say just switch to easy mode. I had a personal policy to play at least hard, but I realised that this game has a penchant to "cheat" to be hard. It's not like it requires more skill -it just erroneously judges a weak spot hit as a normal hit, or even as a miss,or all of sudden decides you die from full health to zero after a single blow. It's not technically designed to be hard - rather to frustrate you, really.
@Triforcepanda Good question! It’s actually a bit tough to answer because I play so much to get clips for my videos without saving. I think I can safely say I have at least 250-300 hours total across multiple save files and I save gameplay. Could be more.
@Michael Hernandez Yes! I always forget about that because it doesn’t make sense to me that you can hit them lol. But yeah that’s a good tactic especially on the Apex to shock it!
@taskin reza Good question. I probably should have mentioned in the Apex portion that the shock canons can be pretty effective to use against the Apex Tremortusk. I do typically tear them off to deal damage, I just don’t usually pick them up because I personally don’t like how slow you move with a heavy weapon. Just personal preference, but using them on the Apex is totally a good tactic!
Gurellia really needs to let you rotate those models in the machine database to see where these hidden canisters are. I had no idea that that plate was on the leg and hid the shock canister.
@imthatguy89 Totally! It’s so hard to see those covered components. It would be cool if we could just freely rotate and zoom in on a model of the machine.

Yes I'm "shocked" there was a canister there

I got annoyed with not getting the components after killing the maschines because while I understand that if I destroy them (Braced Shot) that they are gone.
But leaving them intact and killing the maschine should not destroy the component :D It just makes no sense to me and thus I turned Easy Loot on before even reaching Plainsong :D
And even through I did it I actually remove most component anyway since it deals a good amount of damage.
Hello, thanks for the content.
I’ve watched all your gear videos. And now I have my sunshot hunter bow. What coils do you recommend with this bow?
Awesome! And congrats on getting the Sunshot! There’s lots of cool combinations that work well. Personally, I like a combination of agility damage coils and tear/component gear coils.
@@ArktixOfficial thanks
Great video, it looks like during your gameplay, I think the 2nd explosion from the sparker destroyed one of the tusks. Does that usually happen?
#Rexolf101 Thanks! I'm not quite sure where it's looking like a tusk got destroyed, but I can confirm none of the tusks were destroyed. I looted all 4 after that fight (not shown in the video). I've never had the shock explosion destroy a tusk. The only way tusks get destroyed is if they're still on the the Tremortusk when it dies.
Does the boom boom arrow increase in damage if you hold it longer or is the damage the same if you launch it as soon as possible?
@deemon710 Braced Shot? It’s the same damage regardless of how long you hold it.
You can shoot shock cannon orbs with your warrior bow arrows our of the air.
Also if it's ur first or second tremortusk there is no armor plating on the Sparkers
Yes! Good point!
I love this game so much but theres something i regret doing while playing. The thing is that i played this game too fast and didnt discover most of the fun new things as the arena until i finished the story, and i definetly think i could enjoy the game much more if i played it more calm and explore eveeything before
I have its platinum trophy now
Let's b honest, the use of the brace shot was a slight bit of how epic it is when used on the blaze
Your really good when you don't bother to tear off his weapons
@Catofnbr I think you're thinking of the Focused Shot Valor Surge?
@@ArktixOfficial Ah yes. Thank you mate😁👍
Shoot the lightning balls as it leaves the cannon. It shocks tusky =D
Yes! I always forget about that because it makes no sense to me that you can hit them lol. Especially when you can't hit the Shellsnapper ice blasts??? Lol. Anyway, yes, you can totally shoot the shock orbs!
Wouldn't tearing off its weapons first and then starting farming be wise?
You can also shoot the shock orbs too.
What system are you playing on? These graphics are amazing I have the PS5 maybe I need a more updated TV?
I'm on PS5. Not sure what looks different, especially if you're watching my videos on the same TV? Do you have performance mode on? I personally think the 60FPS makes it look way better. Maybe that's the difference.
I hit the shock cannon orb as they launched it and im pretty sure it shocked them
You can shoot the shock orbs to destroy them instantly too.
@EternalWindTWR Oh yes! Thanks for bringing that up! I always forget about that because it makes zero sense to me that you can’t shoot them lol. But yeah you can totally shoot them out if the air! It’s actually a fairly effective way to shock the Apex variant too…
@@ArktixOfficial Yeah I had seen someone do it a while ago, had no idea because you're right, it makes absolutely no sense.
Lol yeah especially because you can't hit the Shellsnapper's ice blasts, which are "solid" compared to the spark orbs. Totally weird!
@0:54 What!? How do you pick stuff up without having to crouch down!?!?
@deemin710 Settings>General turn off pickup animations. You’re welcome 😉
you can just override them. it's easy to sneak up on them since they're so large. you can even run up behind them. then shoot the tusk
I am joise morella.
Please do one for the Snake next 😍😍
@Kynam Van Slitherfangs were next on my list for this series! You need lots of Earth Grinders for upgrades as well!
Do machines still reset when you leave the immediate area?
Yes!
There are two of the apex ones on the northern site... I can't handle two at once. What to do ?
Its so annoying when you accidentally kill machines lol. I wish we had the harvesting arrows from zero dawn which you could use to get components off dead machines by shooting them. The arrows could be found on very rare sharpshot bows. It was so nice farming blaze canisters on grazers with them.
Ah yeah I miss that nice little trick as well.
Ah yeah the desert one is pretty annoying for that reason.
You can shoot the lightning orbs, they explode creating a aoe that if they are close enough, they affect the Tremortusk
Yes! I always forget about that because it doesn't make any sense to me. Especially when you can't shoot the Shellsnapper ice blasts 🤨 lol
The tremortusk tremors with fear when I fast travel near it with my ancestors return.
Why doesn't your stamina goes out while triple notch?
How many hours do you have into forbidden west?
@Triforcepanda Good question! It’s actually a bit tough to answer because I play so much to get clips for my videos without saving. I think I can safely say I have at least 250-300 hours total across multiple save files and I save gameplay. Could be more.
Also you can shoot down the homing attacks
Yes! I forgot to mention that!
The fangs are difficult to hit ?
You can shoot the electric volley balls and they explode
@Michael Hernandez Yes! I always forget about that because it doesn’t make sense to me that you can hit them lol. But yeah that’s a good tactic especially on the Apex to shock it!
Why aren’t u tearing off those cannons??
@taskin reza Good question. I probably should have mentioned in the Apex portion that the shock canons can be pretty effective to use against the Apex Tremortusk. I do typically tear them off to deal damage, I just don’t usually pick them up because I personally don’t like how slow you move with a heavy weapon. Just personal preference, but using them on the Apex is totally a good tactic!
Listen man i just need the location im tryna do this stiff early on
I tear off the Salvo canons and the weapons on its eyes because they get aggravating, but i love fighting these guys, just not the apex ones.
Lol we all forget to load our bolt blaster before a fight
@Aven Noronha I'm glad I'm not the only one! 😅
@@ArktixOfficial congrats on Channel bro, keep up the great work.
@Aven Noronha Thank you!
Its so stupid that on very hard the problem is not taking down a tremortusk but finding the apex one instead
Honestly, I just find a high place and snipe the machine from there
Lol yes that's another way to do it
To complicated!
WHERE IS THE F HEART OF THIS I HAVE KILL 100ts
You need to kill an apex variant to get a heart. Make sure you go to the site at night.
