    I don't know about anyone else but I'd be down for a slice-of-life video where Studson films his Dollar Store trips to find cool bits, especially if the video includes Studson explaining to the confused cashier what he's planning on making.

    • @StudsonStudio
      @StudsonStudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2432

      On a dollar store visit during this project, the cashier asked if I was having an office party or something? I had a strange mix of party supplies and staplers/pencil sharpeners. I had a very difficult time explaining that it was a party just for me and what I was going to turn this mess of stuff into.

    Wow, that "rechargeable flashlight" looked so cool I immediately looked it up and found one that looked nearly identical on Amazon. And the customer reviews revealed that it's a total lie; it's powered by a few non-rechargeable coin batteries and the squeezy handle does nothing

    • @Wagonix-wc6pi
      @Wagonix-wc6pi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      not to be asmartass or anything but just bc you found a fake one on amazon doesn't mean there's no real one. like amazon is not particularly the most reliable retail store ever

      @dancinswords 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Wagonix-wc6pi Yes, I guess I should've mentioned that it doesn't necessarily reflect on the one he showed/all ones like it. Though the whole design does look too good to be true

      @@dancinswords During the German occupation in WW 2 the Dutch actually used these dynamo powered flashlights when Germans would turn off streetlights etc. They called them a 'knijpkat' ('squeezecat') for the sound they made when powering them up.

    first time on this channel, i thought that was a collector figure. and im convinced that you look at any plastic and go "i can make something with this." it makes me believe you actually may spawn people to do the same and basically use all the plastic in the world [which is fantastic.] You are the literal presentation of "REUSE, REDUCE, RECYCLE."

    23:18 I can tell you why that sponge is tough! that specific shape sponge is almost certainly used in ceramics, we use sponges that size and shape when throwing pots on the wheel. those sponges have to withstand a LOT of friction, so they have to be tough and long lasting! :D
