Tony and Crystal stayed up late to talk about the new Sony/Marvel spin off set in the Venom-verse which might have Spider-man? Its unclear. He definitely isn't in this movie. In this movie review/podcast they will talk about all the things that make this movie miserable. Like the by the numbers plot, the incomprehensive action scenes, and the copy and pasted villain.
Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others from the same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside of him is soon unleashed.

That trail is actually a real scientific phenomenon. They call it a Morbius Strip.
It wasn't good, but I love seeing Matt Smith ham it up as the villain. At least Jared Leto was a better Morbius than a Joker.

Morbius and Blade were in a group of all the "horror heroes" called the Midnight Sons. Also included Werewolf By Night, Man-Thing (Swamp Monster), Frankenstein and a couple other old school monster movie homages
Actually Marvel spoiled Endgame with a Spider-Man trailer while Endgame was still in theatres. They made it obvious that Stark was dead.
That was sony that forced the spider-man trailer out before endgame was out not marvel
I think the bit that gets me about the bat Hadouken is....okay if you or I were being swarmed by bats, we'd freak out and flop around, and MAYBE get pinned under a lot of bats. But Milo has super strength like Morbius so he should just slice them to ribbons...strong enough to kick through plate glass and concrete but can't fight off bats.

Here's some more bat facts! Vampire bats typically feed on larger mammals. They find or make a small cut and lap up the blood from the wound. People have found marks on their feet and hands after waking up, so they typically don't even cause enough pain to wake you. Also, I've always wanted a pet bat too, but it's illegal in the US. I have seen a couple on tv who run a bat sanctuary (like Audubon), I'm guessing you'd need a lot of licenses to be able to run something like that tho. Btw, they had actually trained a number of them like you'd train a hawk, which is awesome.

If only Jared had appeared in Spawn 1997 then he could claim he's been in one of the worst comic to movie adaptations from DC, Marvel, and Image comics.
Wasn't Spawn the only Image comic adapted into a movie? Either way, that movie is way better than both Suicide Squad, and Morbius.

I miss old school make up.... Flicks nowadays feel so "fake".... I recently watched Michael Bay's The Rock.... Was surprised how much I enjoyed "old school" action....
I agree. Practical effects looks more real. Just look at 1990s films like Jurassic Park and Terminator 2... they both used practical effects with some cgi. They still look amazing.

Tony made a comment about really good actors bouncing from good to great projects to mediocre to abysmal ones.
They do the bad ones so they don't have to sweat producers for big salaries from the good material.
So why do crap movies 9 out of 10 times generate more 💰 than the good ones?
Original Xmen movies are the best!!!!! The Wolverine movies are very cool as well as the video game based on the genre. Crystal is top notch 😛
Morbius farts smoke all over the place in this movie, and he flies cause of his farts strong propulsion.
3:20 the Marcus by me used to have a 3 story IMAX screen. They still have that screen but it's been renamed something else, and now ALL the official Imax screens in Chicagoland (which I think maybe exclusive to AMC theaters) are just slightly bigger screens and resolution, with really good sound.
Personally nowadays, I find the Dolby Digital theater at AMC to be the GOAT. The sound is SO important.
I saw minority report in GIANT OG Imax and it's just too big, and the seating setup made for a lot of bad spots
South suburb of Chicago, Glenwood, used to have one of the worlds largest single screen theaters. I grew up walking distance, it was awesome!

Obviously,I LOVE the character of Venom(Eddie Brock version). And you're right,the movies are fun,but dumb. Not how I envisioned the Venom movies being though. I wanted a dark,sinister,complex and twisted rated R Venom movie. Instead of him being this badass evil villain,Sony turned Venom into a goofball.
I knew this movie was going to suck as soon as I found out Jared Leto was the lead. He's a supporting character through and through. On top of that, there's only one role he's ever played that I truly liked, and that's because he was playing a rich, creepy asshole. You know, basically himself.
U guys have to watch Life!.. insane movie imo and has CG thats regarded as being quite good... its rated R and def doesn't disappoint.. maybe he just needed more freedom to go darker... in fact, itd be a good review to do after this movie and prolly had somethn to do w him gettn the Morbius job.. idk
Morbius wasn't great, but it's far from the worst Anything Movie. Like I think Eternals was way worse. If nothing else, Morbius was 104 Minutes, felt like 45. Eternals was 2.5 Hours and it felt like 4.
I'd watch Morbius 10 times before I watched Eternals or Fan4stic once.
I saw The New Mutants recently, way worse than Morbius.
But bats are small, they don't need to drain bodies. A larger animal that survives on blood would need more blood. I mean its relative Crystal

Yes, Morbius does have something to do with X-Men - his second and third appearances are in Marvel Team-Up, with The X-Men. It's the same issue where Spider-Man jumps over everyone and creepily kisses Jean Grey right on the lips. The movie Morbius was a complete waste. Shame, because those 70's monster comics were pretty awesome.

I disagree. His Doctor is when I started to stop caring, sort of the beginning of the end. He was the starting line with every Doctor after being worse until finally the current day when I'm okay with then just ending.
Morbuis is a blade villain too and he falls for Black Cat in the Spider-Man animated series.
If Vulture had his outfit then they're in the Amazing Spider-Man universe, that's the only one that had a bunch of Sinister Six gear already created

Anybody ever play the Prototype games? I feel that's where they got the idea for the trails Morbius leaves when he moves
Thing about comics is different people write them, so for example, in Maximum Carnage, the Avengers and X-Men don’t show up. So I’m guessing that’s why they don’t appear in each other’s movie all the time.
I've always thought Matt Smith looks like he's from Halloweentown.

I haven’t seen the movie yet, but from what I can tell, Morbius isn’t too far off from the comic. The issue I have, and the same with Venom, is Spider-Man being missing. He’s vital to both origins. So this movie is missing Spider-Man and Lizard. They both go to Morbius to cure their conditions. He is sick with a blood disease. He does look vampire-ish because he’s so sick, and a bit photosensitive. In trying to cure Spider-Man and Lizard, guess what he has the bright idea to do? He experiments on himself and you know the rest. He was a villain and he made his rounds. His popularity kicked up in the 90’s with the whole Midnight Son’s thing. That’s where he became a anti-hero. Because the 90’s was all about anti-heroes. He’s not a supernatural vampire, but he can turn people into weaker living vampires, and they can be cured of it. That’s really it. There’s probably more but I stopped caring about him in the 90’s. I’m sure Marvel has done things with him, but he’s that character that just couldn’t really catch on. But he’s also known.

Spiderman is the most well known non-mutant who attended the school.

Currently right now venom is a god. Check the venom 2018 run which leads into absolute carnage and King in black.
I didn't hate it. I thought it was a fun little throwback to 90s dark superhero movies. I don't think it's that good though, so I will agree on that.
I'm against the norm here, but I enjoyed this movie. However I also had no expectations going into it. For one, I don't care for Marvel comics much and I much prefer DC comics overall. BUT, I thought this movie was enjoyable. I wished it was longer, seemed very rushed. No doubt much was left on the cutting room floor. but Matt Smith's performance was great and Jared Leto did the best with what was given to him. Definitely needed more of a backstory to his character. But overall, I liked the movie and will watch it again.
And Tay Diggs's Cop partner looks like a weird Fruit Rings Version of James Gordon , very oddly.
Morbius is not as bad as everyone is making a fuss about. I had a good time in the theatre with some friends.

Three Blade movies, not one single Morbius cameo, and now the Morbius we DO now have seems lame in comparison to the one we almost got, and the only thing the one from Blade did was stand on a building with his head wrapped up like Caliban from Logan. And yet I'm still more interested in him than I am Jared Leto's Morbius.
Saw the movie in theaters because a woman i'm dating wanted to see it. She bought the tickets too. Still wanted my money back! Everything is predictable,the effects range from "uh..weird,but ok i guess" to " wow that's some Newgrounds stuff there" . The writers evidently don't know how anything in the real world works, because none of the stuff that happens makes sense. Morbius powers make absolutely zero sense,but that's true in the comics too so.. The actress playing Martine is a good looking lady,that's maybe one good point the movie has. EDIT : unless i'm mistaking it with another movie, Child 44 is actually a solid movie

Disney pretty much owns all characters except Spidey. Thankfully, the director tried to spare energy everyone from this continuity stink bomb by spoiling it before the release. Vulture was already in the MCU and shouldn't be here and returned after the spell to make him forget Peter is Spidey even if,and then Spidey saved his life and he protected him at the end of Homecoming.
