They also show us we are not alone, people experience these things every day, we are never the first and never the last, and never alone in our experience. I find this song, and later, some time after the event Don Henleys 'Heart of the Matter' help me to understand the things i am feeling. I have been through a marriage separation in the last 18 months and I am still getting there, slowly but surely, music guides us through the stages. I know what you mean, about feeling shut down, when four of my loved ones including my mother and grandfather passed away within a few years of each other and I got really ill, so bad I couldn't stand up or walk, I thought, honestly what more could anything do to me, I felt nothing for a long time. It takes a while to come out of that depression and those deep feelings of nothing. And I'm glad you only love one girl, even if the feelings are not returned, it shows you can commit to the right one when she comes along and make her feel like the princess she'll be to you, and hopefully she'll treat you like the prince you are in Your relationship together.
