Thank you much for this super easy explanation of the user guide. I’d read the manual inside out yet there is no mention of holding the plus button down in order to begin the sunset fade options selected.
Never good to touch a halogen bulb with your bare hands - the oil from your fingers can degrade the bulb's life. Anyone watching this, use a towel or cloth!
HOW DO YOU SET THE SUNSET TIME?????? This clock is IMPOSSIBLE to set. The manual is useless, and this video is incomplete. I wish I hadn't bought this expensive paperweight.
i’m confused? i pressed and held the plus button for too long while turning on the light and now it’s making occasional beeping noises and the light is going off and then back on again. how do I stop this???
If you’ve accidently activated demo mode on Active 150, please try pressing ‘+’ for 12 seconds to come out of it.
If this doesn’t work then you may need to reset the unit back to factory settings. To do this please turn off the power at the mains. Press and hold the middle button as you turn the power back on. Release the button when the software version number shows.
I hope this helps. If you continue to experience an issue, please email us on info@lumie.com and we will assist you further.
Yes you can use the dawn chorus alongside the sunrise. The sunrise is automatic and will begin prior to the alarm. Please go through your settings menu until you get to wake sound. Once you select wake sound the next setting will give you a choice of alarm sounds, here you can select dawn chorus. If you need any further help please contact us directly on info@lumie.com
Hi John. Yes! Just press and hold the middle button and tap on it to go through the settings until you get to the 24h clock setting - there is the option to change to 12hr mode there with the plus or minus button :)
There needs to be a Cancel Alarm, and a Cancel Sunset button. Also needs to be an easy access Dim Display button - currently, it appears that you can only control the brightness of the display IF you have activated Sunset. There is a Set Alarm process, but no Cancel Alarm, ditto Sunset. I’ve had a Lumie for nearly 20 years. This version is ridiculous. The looped nature sounds aren’t long enough. The repetition is irritating. It’s over-complicated and the lack of text on buttons is due to Lumie wanting a slice of the international consumer market - the clock has several language options. I can’t understand how to keep the light on if I’m reading. Regardless of whether I’ve selected Sunset, it fades and turns off after a period of time. One of the main reasons I wanted this bodyclock was so that I didn’t have to have a clock, a radio, and a light as separate items on my bedside table. I’m also worried about the rising cost of energy bills et al. Turns out this unit uses “a maximum of 50W”, or so it says. This needs to be clearer and more precise. I want to know its energy consumption with the radio on, or with the nature sounds on, with the light at low, medium and high, the total consumption if you use the sunrise alarm over 90, 45, 30, 20, 15 minutes, ditto the diminishing sunset. Not knowing which components make up the “maximum if 50W” has made me use other radios, clock radios, and bedside lights instead. It’s cheaper and it’s easier. In point of fact, I have other radios in the house that are rated at 5W, being a tenth of the energy consumption of this. I now have a Roberts clock radio on my beside table, rated at 5.5W, and a salt lamp light. I turn the bodyclock light off as soon as I’ve sorted myself out for bed and use the very dim pink light from the salt lamp as I’m winding down, or if I need a dim light for any reason during the night. For those who don’t think that the wattage makes much difference, a 5W appliance would have to run for 200 hours before it uses up x1 KwH, or one unit as charged by your electricity supplier. A 50W appliance would only have to run for 20 hours to cost the same amount. I’m sure that the “50W maximum” must only apply when you have the light on and the radio or the nature sounds on all at the same time, but I don’t KNOW this because Lumie have been incredibly lazy in their design, programming, and their User Manual. Lumie once were active proponents of light and mood technology, but these days they seem to me to be cruising along on the wave they created in the early 2000s, happy to take a back seat. They used to be a passionate small business. Now they’re just another business. I used to be able to get my replacement bulbs direct from Lumie, for £4.99 including postage. Now, they have stopped making the original bulbs, and are using a cheap ordinary halogen bulb in their stead. These can be bought for a couple of quid from supermarkets, other shops and online retailers. Lumie still list them as their own bulbs to use in their applicable bodyclocks. This is NOT TRUE. On top of that, last time I checked, bulbs now cost £4.55 to post (3-5 days, so Second Class Royal Mail), almost the same cost as the bulb. If you need it delivered by the next day, they want £7.80-something. Presumably, these increased postage costs are tied in with there being free delivery if you spend over a certain amount. I think it was £35 when I last visited the Lumie site. And despite no longer being at the forefront of light/ mood light/ wake light/ sleep technology and products, Lumie clocks cost a small fortune. I may well go back to my old, basic Lumie, which has a lamp and an alarm either with or without sunrise. Until Lumie can confirm how much power the radio and light use together, I won’t use its radio function. I’m happier using my Roberts clock radio, which I also use as the bedroom radio. At 5.5W, it will run for 181.81 hours before it costs me one electricity unit (about 28p at the moment). That’s 7 1/2 solid days of continuous 24/7 use, or 15 days of 12 hours a day, or 30 days of 6 hours use a day, or 2 months of using it for 3 hours a day. It obviously only uses 5.5W when the radio’s on, but again, Roberts don’t state how much power it uses when the clock display is on but the radio is off. I do wish appliance companies would be more precise. It would be nice if someone from Lumie replied to the concerns and questions I’ve expressed. I’m not sure they will. They aren’t the company they once were.
Dreadful unfathomable instructions. She’s doing additional button presses towards the end and not explaining why. What we want to know is how to turn it off on weekend. Her instructions to do so aren’t clear. Really bad guys.
Hello! I'm sorry you find these instructions unhelpful. The lady in the video only pressed the buttons to light up the display as it was too dim. We presume what you want is to not have the alarm set for the weekend days? In order to achieve that simply don't press the middle button before going to bed. Or is it the display you would like switched off? To turn off the display, simply press and hold + (plus) and - (minus) buttons together for a second. We hope this helps? Let us know if you have any more questions.
Hello@@Worthless3, are you making sure that you're pressing the middle button on the bottom to activate the alarm once you have selected your chosen settings? If you're certain that you're doing this and the sunrise isn't working, please contact our customer care team who'll be able to help you further on info@lumie.com or 01954 780 500

I'm glad I went for this rather than the cheaper one as it seems like it's "easier" to set up.
The instructions manual is rubbish. Am on prozac because of it now..
How do you set the display to be off when you are asleep, the display is preventing me from sleeping. Thank you.
I have worked it out from reading another reply to another question thank you! 😊
can you get the noise to increase with the sunrise?
No I don’t think so if you are listening to a sound it gradually fads along with the sunset mode depending on your settings.
Could you do a close up of the sunrise only setting steps, please? Also how to get it out of demo mode, and how to restore to factory settings.
Holding on the button doesn't cause the correct mode.
Going to bed with a phone alarm again
What bulb does this use? Can I get a standard bulb or does it have to be lumie ones?

That's what you get when your 'expert instructor' shows you in her PJs
Is it possible to not program anything (no sunset/no sunrise) but have the display off at night?
Hello! Just press the + and - buttons at the same time -it will deactivate any alarms (if set) and turn off the display.

@@LumieLights Thank you for responding. I have emailed you too :)
great for customers
To a "natural sunrise" 😂😂😂 no I don't like camping. That's why I'm here...
Can you change the clock from 24hr to 12hr on this model? i can't find it anywhere....
Hi John. Yes! Just press and hold the middle button and tap on it to go through the settings until you get to the 24h clock setting - there is the option to change to 12hr mode there with the plus or minus button :)
Cannot get the light to work AND sound
Tip: don’t turn the display to auto during daylight - it disappears and it’s impossible to see what programming you’re trying to do!
4:20 was very helpful
