I got a chev sonic manual..my shifter just started to feel loose..in neutral when i pushed it to the side, and let it go.it would come back to dead senter..now it stays to the side..i took a look and saw that there is a spring unde the shifter not puching on anything, i can move the spring freely with my finger..the spring does has a arm, so it looks that its suppose to press on something..does that has anything to do with my shifter feeling loose.

Is the reason you replace that shifter assembly, because the lever became difficult/hard to shift into the gears?? OR did it just totally break?? You never said. My sisters 2014 Cruze is become very hard to shift into gear,and it gets stuck totally if put into 'manual shift mode'. Is that this ones problem???
