It's actually a gorgeous piece of work. The men who were there building it from North Korea were getting paid and all they would do is spend their money on Candy apparently. I watched a small documentary about it and it's actually quite interesting. if I could find it I'd give you the link but then again I'm just too lazy to go on Google right now.

just for watching Squid Game.
A citizen is said to have brought a copy of Squid Game into North Korea back from China and sold USB flash drives containing the series. The citizen got caught and sentenced by a firing squad.
Unfortunately, some students, who also bought a drive received a life sentence, while six others who watched the show have been sentenced to five years of hard labor, and teachers and school administrators have been fired and faced banishment to work in remote mines. Very cruel and hypocritical.

Populism + propaganda is very important in communist/socialist countries. In Argentina we they built a very modern and expensive stadium in one of the poorest provinces. The image of the modern stadium in the middle of a slum is interesting to say the least
Oh they use it, they use it all the time. As a matter of fact they can fill it up. North Korea likes to do something. They call the mass games. Basically a lot of choreographed showy stuff but they need a lot of people to do it.
