South korea has a policy of accepting each and every north korean who wants to escape, the only problem is getting there, as you probably know north koreans aren't allowed to leave the country without a special permission from the government and a very good reason to leave. They have to cross a river without getting caught by North Korean soldiers (if your do you get killed) but if you don’t get caught you can be free as they can’t make you go to jail as South Koreans laws are different to north Koreans law (South Koreans law does not include not having north Koreans allowed) I hope that North Korea can give more freedom to people with less harsh laws. I read a few accounts and watched documentaries about people who escaped from North Korea. It's definitely not the same as directly knowing people who defected but what I noticed is that most of them spoke about how they didn't feel entirely secure in China either. They said that if you get caught by the Chinese government, you are deported back to North Korea since they're diplomatic allies and that's why they also can't claim asylum in China. I can't even imagine not only the stress of living in North Korea but also of knowing that if you do escape, you have to go through a country with as much landmass as China until you can actually reach safety, knowing that your only way out is like that since there's no way of coming out alive through the DMZ.

South korea has a policy of accepting each and every north korean who wants to escape, the only problem is getting there, as you probably know north koreans aren't allowed to leave the country without a special permission from the government and a very good reason to leave. I’m South Korean but I know many people who are North Korean that also escaped. They have to cross a river without getting caught by North Korean soldiers (if your do you get killed) but if you don’t get caught you can be free as they can’t make you go to jail as South Koreans laws are different to north Koreans law (South Koreans law does not include not having north Koreans allowed)
I hope that North Korea can give more freedom to people with less harsh laws. Not much is known about North Korea so I can’t say much but I hope that people there can stay safe

@@akurexburners Well escaping doesn't end your family's happiness, but appearing like this in public definitely does. The only reason would be if she doesn't know much about the punishment of defecting. Which let's be honest someone in south Korea would have told her. She sentenced them all to death, or pretty much the equivalent. What a piece of shit of a human.
I think the reason why she considered going back was because North Korea is almost completely closed off to the outside world for citizens so she didn't know how much better other places are, and it was an unfamiliar place with a mostly unfamiliar language and culture (like he said) so if you really think about it, it makes sense, mostly
