angela vizzi I was looking for her the entire time and I saw a glimpse of her when she was smoking that cigarette in the kitchen. That was all Charlize for 2 seconds.
That final moment... when she looks back for the last time. Some of the finest acting out there. It really takes a lot to cause the internal conflict like this film does.
After watching this film, the fact that you are able to sympathize with a serial killer is a true testament on how great Charlize's performance was. Arguably, the greatest performance by an actress ever.
The sympathy here for this woman is chilling. She is a psychopath!! She robbed these men & executed them for the same reason all serial killers claim to: Power, rage, & financial gain. Yes, they solicited a hooker....but that does not give her the right to take their lives. Nor does the fact that she may have had a rough life. That would make her troubled, no doubt! I feel sorry for her on that regard. But NOT the rest. That was all her choice.
Me too 😢 Aileen had such a diabolical life and my heart has always gone out to her. I’m a criminology student and she’s one of the only murderers I’ve felt true sympathy and empathy for....
Aileen: "Love conquers all." "Every cloud has a silver lining." "Faith can move mountains." "Love will always find a way." "Everything happens for a reason." "Where there is life, there is hope." [laughs] Aileen: Oh, well... They gotta tell you somethin
Love conquers all. Every cloud has a silver lining. Faith can move mountains. Love will always find a way Everything happens for a reason. Where there is life there, is hope
The dialogue, her turning around and looks back, then walks away into the white light and the music in the background. Patty Jenkins’s direction is amazing.
The greek pianist :- sir u seem to be an emotional person.as u said u r a criminologist n feel pity for wornos. Nice words from u sir. U r a kind hearted man☘️😊
Cried my eyes out during this movie. Went in with no prior knowledge, didn't even know this was based on true events. It's so sad, life turned her into a monster.
I cry every time I watch this movie. There's a book based on this movie, Lethal Intent by Sue Russell based on the life of Aileen Wuornos. You should check it out.
Me too. My dad put it on and I've learn so much from this film and made me appreciate how lucky I am in life. Stan XCX !!!!!!! my Favorite song is visions apple music remix ! ;)
She didn't have any friends, her only true friend in the movie was Thomas, so really sad how sometimes life's circumstances mold you to be the way you are.
In theory Selby must of been threatened by law enforcement she would share the same faith as Aileen if she didn't point her out as accompany to her murder. The weak minded are easy to trigger. This is just a theory....
She had no choice, she had to betray Aileen in exchange for immunity from prison. Although Aileen understood that the cops got to Selby, she gave her loving consent to her to protect here from the killings.
This is a powerful scene. You can feel Selby stab Aileen in the heart when she betrays her in the courtroom. Ealier in the movie Aileen says, "I have you. I have everything." At that moment in the courtroom, she realizes she has nothing.
Charlize deserved that oscar and there has yet to be a performance as good as this since! just stunning. I felt for her! i cried for about 10 minutes straight at the end of the film.
“I wish there was a way that people could forgive you something like this, you know? But they can’t.” 😢 if she could’ve taken it back, Aileen truly would have.
In my opinion, Charlize Theron will NEVER be able to top this performance even if she acts in 10,000 movies! This was her masterpiece and she deserved every ounce of gold in the Oscar she won. EXCELLENT movie!!
Charleze Theron had the mannerisms and facial expressions like Aileen's. I have the impression that everything Aileen did came from a huge amount of pain in her life. I think a lot of people are capable of doing the things Aileen did, if given the right circumstances.
Never thought I would feel bad for a serial killer... This movie was so impactful... of course murder isn't something that can be easily justified... but with a backstory like the one Aileen had... It was really like she had no other choice.. Those last quotes that she recited were such a perfect touch.. but that last line she said "They gotta tell you something.." That was really what hit me..
+Satesh Well we saw what happened to the last man who tried to help Aileen here! She killed him. Never stop for people you don't know or for hitchhikers, never. If they need help, call 911 for them instead.
Montmasson She's making a cynical comment that life is shit, that there is no hope. Back in 2003, though, she was just a fledgling filmmaker who needed the perfect song for a scene in her low-budget movie Monster, about the life of serial killer Aileen Wuornos. The way she nods to Shelby after she betrays Aileen. As if to say, "I understand. I forgive you." Always, always makes me cry.
And the way Shelby reacted looks like she regrets what she is currently doing.
Plus she is giving her the okay to tell them the truth
Although this never happened in real life. Tyra never made eye contact with Aileen in court.

She had no choice, she had to betray Aileen in exchange for immunity from prison. Although Aileen understood that the cops got to Selby, she gave her loving consent to her to protect here from the killings.
If Selby broke down in tears after doing that and leaving the court, it would make this scene even sadder.

Thank you!! felt awful for that man......& all her other victims. The one that tormented her & poured alcohol on her DID NOT HAPPEN! Aileen admitted it herself, after this movie was made!
Glad SOMEONE up here realizes what's what! All this 'I feel so sorry for Aileen' up here is disgusting. The director herself admitted she was making a more 'pro-Aileen' film than was in reality! Aileen was a psychopath, a serial killer. Having a bad childhood doesn't give you any right to hurt others & destroy their lives.
Charlize´s performance as Aileen Wuornos is simply amazing...
Great acting, so much like Aileen. Sad movie. Aileen had a bad life. Now shes gone, its not fair RIP Aileen.
*In a way, Aileen Wuornos was a female version of Arthur Fleck (Joker).*
Charlize Theron is amazing in this film, she captures Aileen so well even in the looks I know its makeup but WOW!
Not to forget the music makes it better ❤️
I Love this movie... it makes me cry every time i watch it..
Just loved Charlize acting.. SHE'S A GODDESS...
I just can't imagine her acting like that with that custome xD.. it looks kinda weird
You are missed Aileen...just let down from jump...we all fall by the wayside but we gotta stay strong and try to stay on the right path!!! Don't stop believin song lol now I have to go watch #RockOfAges again
❤❤❤ Hay personas más sensibles que no pueden soportar que el mundo le cierren las puertas.
Por ese motivo se volvió asesina❤❤❤
I have been reading and watching the lives of serial killers and I dont' know why this particular case of Aileen is touching my heart.
