That part with him just driving in the parking lot, it hits me. That’s how he grieves. He’s just so frustrated at his own powerlessness, that there was nothing he could do, he just needs to be somewhere where he can scream and feel something other than pain and loneliness.
"The name of the movie is John Wick, which isn't the catchiest title for a movie". Very true....but by the end of the movie the viewer knows the only title for that movie could be......'John Wick'.
It was gonna be named something else but Keanu kept referring to it as John Wick in all of his interviews promoting the film and the guys in charge were like “free advertising” and changed the name of the film.
I think public opinion slowly shifted on Keanu. He went from the perception that he's deadpan and underplays everything, in a way that was easy to mock to people loving his understated coolness, backed up by him being a super nice guy in real life.
He made some poor choices earlier on in terms of choosing movie roles that don't really play up to his strengths and accentuated his weakness (like trying to play super emotional characters or different accents), but eventually I think he started being very particular about what roles he played and we started seeing him accentuate his strengths because of that.
Agree.people will never put him as one the greatest actors but,I do to think more of the fans but even the critics have come to appreciate him & maybe daresay career.
Two important things 1. The dog he saves in the end from the shelter was going to be put down and that's why wick "stole" the pit bull from the shelter 2. Keanu in real life did like 90% of the stunts himself and all the martial arts and shooting skills you see in the movie, Keanu can do in real life and has trained to do.

You forgot the 'he stole John Wick's car', but Vigo's reaction is beautiful once you have seen the movie once. You fully understand that Vigo is saying: 'Oh... Fuuuuuck we're soooo deeeaaaad. Why did I ever get my wife pregnant?' The emotion in that single 'Oh' is fully understandable with John Wick being who he is.

Also he has had a ton of tragedy in his life and he’s really inspirational.
That "woah dude" Johnathan next to Gary Oldman in Dracula wasn't really helping that perception lol...
don't forget the sheer effin' commitment ;)

At 9:00 she says "I dont like watching fighting", and I just broke out full belly laughing. Like WOW, you are in for a LOOOOONG movie haha.
Keanu is also REALLY proficient with firearms in real life, his training routine is mind blowing. I really enjoy your reaction video's.
Two important things
1. The dog he saves in the end from the shelter was going to be put down and that's why wick "stole" the pit bull from the shelter
2. Keanu in real life did like 90% of the stunts himself and all the martial arts and shooting skills you see in the movie, Keanu can do in real life and has trained to do.
How did he know it was being put down? I heard the Family lost him and they were coming to pick him up the next day...

@Jay Ryan he can certainly shoot like in the movie. There are videos on TH-cam of him training. Real guns, live rounds.
The thing to remember is that Keanu did almost all his stunts and fighting and driving
And did extensive firearms training. He’s a competition level shooter.

Im guessing the rest of the film was VERY cathartic for you.
He's not an actor with huge range, he is an actor with immense presence. That is what makes his performances good. I think he chooses very carefully too, staying within his abilities.
Rest in peace Mikael Nyqvist. Spectacular actor and this is without a doubt one of his most iconic performances.
Indeed, and I thought he was terrific in Ghost Protocol as well.
Yeah, he was also great in the swedish "Millennium"-trilogy (which first part is the original "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"). That was his international breakthrough performance. It's strange though, that in almost all american movies that he was in, he portrayed villains, whereas in "Millennium" he was the hero. But I have to say, as a villain he was definitely better. In "John Wick" he was truly scary.

To be honest, that line isn't that original. And something like that was shown earlier in movies ("The Dark Knight", anyone?). Don't get me wrong, I still like "John Wick" very much. But I don't get why the fans recite this line so often. It's not that great.

Look up behind the scenes of the movie, Keanu's training. Basically mostly the same as Wick would have to go through, since... yeah, he went through actual training to actually be able to do all this stuff. Another of the reasons why people adore Keanu.
There is even a video from Taran Tactical that shows Keanu at the gun range with Halle Barry.
This movie deserves an oscar for showing the protaganist reloading onscreen.
Thank Taran Tactical for training Keanu Reeves to be the number 1 celebrity civilian weapons expert.

And even some action movies that don't quite reach that level like Dredd, Mission Impossible Fallout or Kingsman: The Secret Service are really damn good.

You surprised me. Not only did you make it thru the whole movie, you caught on to some stuff faster than I thought. This is one of my all time Best movie series. @Krister L Right.
This is a romantic movie. The love of the wife to the husband, and the husband trying to remember the wife.
The same way Deadpool was also a date movie with love and revenge.
The simple revenge plot is what made it so popular when it came out, it harkens back to the simpler action movies of the 80's/90's but with a modern flair, it appealed to the older audience but found a new audience too and really took off.
