    What an amazing day you had. The bikes looked like a great way to get around from temple to temple. The trees growing over the temple looked incredible. Reminded us on something you see as part of a Disney ride.

    Angkor Wat is the name of the large temple, but Angkor is the name of the whole city. The original name of the city used in ancient times was Yasodharapura.

    • @KeithandDev
      @KeithandDev  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We did not know that was the original name! Thanks for sharing that :)

      @@KeithandDev We only refer to it as angkor pronounced ngkor which is rice because everything including songkran down to traditions culture etc all falls back to rice production, engineering irrigation etc thats why its called Angkor era and locals would call it Watt, Ngkor translates to Temple: Ngkor (basically referring to the era). Yes, in our language we have a way of using : before : was invented lmao. Unlike westerners who like to name things and separate things we refer to things in onessness. Eg a church is a church and all churches are churches and is a church thats all it will ever be nothing more. So if we had to be specific we would refer it in terms of Church:San diego st and not name it San diego street Church as this separates it from what it actually is, the power of naming and languages makes a huge difference in culture as you can see how many churches has separated themselves amongst each other however practice the same Baptist done by Jesus as we do in our Songkran festival to wash away our sins.
      A temple is a temple and everyone is welcomed, a san diego church is no longer a church it is now a place of San diego's church. Power of the mind and power of the speech and language.

    Angkor city and Kulen city two of them the population around 25 millions people and the largest city on earth during that time ( Angkorian period 802- 1431 ) before THE KHMER was separated into 4 part of us. :( The our KHMER history is quite interesting to explore and learn for the young).

    There are several Temples, like This World largest Temple, in TAMILNADU (South India) cos the Cambodian Khemer Kings had friendship with our Great Thamizh Empires Chola who ruled part of South Asia and South East Asia once.and had the world largest Naval force that time.
    Also Tamil Pallavar Kings also had trade relations with Cambodia.
    If you visit Tamilnadu, Thanchavur Periya Kovil, Gangai Konda Chola Puram, etc, you can find the similar Structure of Temples.
    Tamilnadu temples built before theae Cambodian temples.
