This is one of the most beautiful and emotive guitar pieces ever. Close your eyes and let your mind paint it's own picture. I'm not sure what he is "saying" from 4:40 to 4:55, but it is so incredibly soulful and beautiful. An amazingly sensual audible experience.
An 80s movie... night rider or some such similar. .. guy in leather jacket walking down a dark road, the dim orange hued street lights barely illuminating the way forward. I dunno lol that's what I always think of when I hear this track
this guy is comet among the guitar virtuosos and so underrated talent. His playing and sound/is so unique, as the use of the whammy...so personnel. I think I won't never get fed up listening this particular album. F...great first album...all the tunes are great, a must have. Got and get one copy, and try to play the songs on your guitar, you'll understand what I mean...and good luck ;)
To me the best rock guitar ballad ever played from a modern virtuoso... pure taste and a strong sense for melody! Awesome, a gift for us all...thanx Michael
the first album could be the finest guitar instrumental record ever recorded ! bursting at the seems with MelodieS , AND OriginalitY Coupled with InsanE TechniquE AND BeautifuL CompositoN's ... The Best !
I think I remember he had to state on his first music released that he was not using slides. He did it all with a beautiful touch of his tremolo bar. He didn't take off like other guitar hero's such as Satch and Vai did. Firkins always had my vote though as he was so unique with beautiful Legato and some terrific restraint going on and very warm sounds, almost clean sounds that nobody else was doing enough of. After listening to a couple of hours of Michael other guitarists could sound like a boink over the head making you realise just how much finesse he had. I owned an Ibanez RG750 that my dad bought me but I soon started craving a Pacifica 1221 shortly afterwards and that very lightweight slim body and much more comfortable and smooth sound has been in my possession ever since. I really love those models. They are just the right vibe and they are very versatile.
Pedro Omar Soto For some reason, the 2:53 to 3:31 solo reminds me of the streets of my hometown (that I left 7 years ago and unlikely to see ever again). I even could smell the aroma of the spring trees and hear the noise of cars, shoppers, and shop-owners.
WE RECORDED MICHAELS DEMO HERE AT RAINBOW RECORDING IN OMAHA ... so much fun ... great guy ... we are cherrying up his favorite studio ... maybe he will come back for a special guest slot ... #omahaproud ... he sent one copy to varney and got signed to shrapnel .... also did some guitar work with dweezil ... nils at rainbow omaha

End of the beginning if you count it as a ballad has to be the best... played by this man himself!
