Nick Johnston tunes always sound really familiar. Like I've heard it a long time ago, but then forgotten it. Brings back memories that don't exist. Weird.
I listened to the whole new album on a recent road trip. I was jamming it super loud driving through Mt. Shasta in the middle of the night and it was perfect. It vibed me out so hard and I really connected with it. Brilliant album dude. Proud to be a part of your journey!
Enjoy the new music, guys! Please consider pre-ordering :) Physical/Merch/Tabs - nickjohnstonmusic.com/ Digital - itunes.apple.com/ca/album/remarkably-human/id1144324634
Nice composition & video. I prefer to say dancing other than shredding. Your hand hand is moving up and down. Dancing so fluid, attractive and elegant. Master!
The true beauty of music is that it is a language which requires no words. Always nice to hear "unexpected" notes in your playing that change the mood immediately. I absolutely adore your playing and songwriting!
as a guitarist, just want to remind everyone that he's only making it look really easy... the amount of texture and tone that he adds into his playing is remarkable
Steven Phillips he's currently doing a European tour with intervals and polyphia. At the end of the set they all came on stage and had a session. It was one of the best things I've ever seen.
I love this song..so i keep coming here to listen to this amazing piece..& for sum reason the starting tune of this song always reminds me of Michael Keaton 1989 Batman theme..
Nick Johnston is one of the few musicians who can still produce something totally original on the guitar. Great instrumental. This was the first track I listened to by Nick years ago and still can not have enough of it.
Some of the most beautifully lyrical playing I've ever heard! Just listened to your newest album last night. Man we're in a golden age of instrumental guitar music right now. Not just talented playing, but amazing composition as well
Very true about golden age. Have you heard of Ichika? He's not as expressive or emotive has Nick Johnston, but he's even more technically skilled, and creates some of the most beautiful guitar music I've ever heard.
This song has everything to make it a true masterpiece. Great audio recording quality A catchy chorus/melody Unique & fresh ideas for solos & licks Great overall band tightness And so much more This song actually inspired me to learn this amazing tune by ear. And I will make a tab in case there is not one already Cheers
This is refreshing. I've been a fan of Satch and other instrumental guitar soloists for years but just found this and already love what I'm hearing. Awesome.
I don't know why this inspires me to something good. And I know I'm not the only one who has felt this way while listening to this masterpiece! Let us all be Remarkably Human!
Nick Johnston, Guelphite here. Can't wait for this one! Your playing is both moving and inspiring. Been waiting for this for a while and already super impressed! Can't wait for the complete offering. Good luck to you, sir.
The modern day Mike Oldfield! like Mike ignored by mainstream rock stations and idiots that call themselves critics! keep up the amazing work Nick! Many of us that love you!
It bothers me that when I type "Nick Johnson" in TH-cam search bar that he isn't the first thing that shows up. He is obviously the best Nick Johnson! Why TH-cam!
the first time i listened to this song i felt weirdly nostalgic, just like one of comments say like it brings back the memories that don't exist. Back in 2018 my close friends and i went for a roadtrip to Penang(Malaysia) then coincidentally Nick Johnston was there at a guitar store in a local mall for a guitar clinic. I never listen to Nick Johnston before but i knew he's a friend to my all time favourite band, The Contortionist. So i bought the CD, i saw Nick but never had a chance to personally meet him, he was playing his guitar in a glass room at the guitar store, preparing for the clinic. His CD was playing the whole time in my car during the roadtrip. Now whenever i listen to this song i always feel nostalgic about the roadtrip i had with my friends to Penang. Thank you Nick.
Everything about this song is excellent. From the celestial vibe, to the phrasing, to the cinematography and color grade, the tone, the phrasing. Enjoyed it a lot. Thank you for this amazing song.
I read Nick's album description for this one and I'm 100% hyped now. Atomic Mind, while a brilliant exhibition of guitar talent and musicianship, overall wasn't my cup of tea, it just dabbled in too many genres I don't really listen to and I could never get into it. I first heard the track "Atomic Mind" and it blew me away, so when I went to the rest of the album looking for more, it was almost like getting blindsided. But seeing that Nick realized this and changed focus for this new album has me all pumped up. I hope we get more of this moody soundtrack style stuff.
Blues/rock/blugrass guitarist of about 15 years here--you did some things in this song that I never knew you could do with a guitar. You, sir, are astounding. Keep it up!
Found out about you a couple of years ago, Nick. I sincerely believe you 're the most interesting and musical guitar instrumentalist I 've heard in years. Keep on doing what you do!
so many thoughts while i watch this: 1) mikael akerfeldt used to be my favorite guitarist.. used to be.. 2) holy cow he's got the best vibrato ever 3) if this isn't djent i don't know what is, it's heavier than any of that trendy hot topic djent i hear on TH-cam 4) i'm learning that chord progression for the middle solo
Hands down my favorite instrumental album but truth is that it’s so lyrical it doesn’t feel like a instrumental album to me at all that’s why I love it !
Nick Johnston tunes always sound really familiar. Like I've heard it a long time ago, but then forgotten it. Brings back memories that don't exist. Weird.
Michael Lewis same here, don't know why, may be we pierce the time itself?
I relate so bad
Thanks for finding the perfect words to describe the "weird" way I feel while listening to this "remarkable" music!
well said
Wow, the perfect way to explain how his music makes me feel.Thanks.
Love it Nick... And I love you!
so when are you and him gonna write something? or have have yall?
I love you too, babe.
Nick your brian Carrolls alter ego i swear!
It's ok if you say no homo
+Nick Johnston Hey Nick, in the video its mentioned part 2: Remarkably Human
Where is part 1 ??
It's a relief to listen to a musician not worried by technical demonstrations.
Did you listen the guitar solo?
Wish you all the success in the world my friend, you deserve it! Great song and video.
Keith knows what's up
You're an inspiration buddy. I remember showing you this track at your studio when I first wrote it! :)
I listened to the whole new album on a recent road trip. I was jamming it super loud driving through Mt. Shasta in the middle of the night and it was perfect. It vibed me out so hard and I really connected with it. Brilliant album dude. Proud to be a part of your journey!
Best comment by the best dude.
Love ya man

Helll yeaa \m/
Nice composition & video. I prefer to say dancing other than shredding. Your hand hand is moving up and down. Dancing so fluid, attractive and elegant. Master!
You should look into getting all your albums on vinyl, those would be magnificent!
No bandcamp release ?
How am I only just now discovering this?!?!?! I haven’t heard melody this sublime from a guitar in years. Perhaps decades. Good lord...
Nick has to be one of the finest instrumental musicians walking this planet now, this is beautiful.
thats what ive been sayin.... him and big b need to collaborate for real!
+Tony Barber who's big b?
Well hes refered to as that from his drummer... pinch face.... still no guess?? BUCKETHEAD
+Tony Barber that would be like ten albums in Buckethead standards.
Tried ichika?
how does a person come up with this.. the changes and everything just sound fresh, the piano is a genius touch too..
You just close your eyes and play man. You play through the wrong notes until your mind, muscles, and soul connect.
The true beauty of music is that it is a language which requires no words. Always nice to hear "unexpected" notes in your playing that change the mood immediately. I absolutely adore your playing and songwriting!
I just discovered his music. So melodic, already one of my favorite players!
as a guitarist, just want to remind everyone that he's only making it look really easy... the amount of texture and tone that he adds into his playing is remarkable
0:54 - 1:18 is probably the best guitar melody i've ever heard
Had to stop everything what I was doing and listen to this!
I did the same thing!
Me too!
yep.
HAHA..I ve heard it 15 times in a row.
First time for me and I'm utterly blown out!
harmonic and melodic feel is off the grid!
I'm so glad Tim Minchin finally learned to play guitar. It's the closure we needed to the song "Rock and Roll Nerd."
Nick Johnston is a criminally underrated guitarist, whose genius is in his subtlety.
i agree
Indeed
His picking technique is mezmerizing! 😍
I know..lol.
kbleskate it's black magic.
What I love about nick unlike other guitarist is he doesn’t rush into solos. He takes it slowly and pulls it off
i wonder why nick johnston is not famous like other great musicians. he is unique and a great plyer
I think that is problem. People dont know what is true music
Greatest modern guitarist
Can't get enough of saying how awesome this is
I don't hear a sound, I just hear a mind and soul speaking. Talking simple but powerful. never doubt it.
Would love to see you, Aaron Marshall, and Plini all on the same stage for a jam session.
Steven Phillips he's currently doing a European tour with intervals and polyphia. At the end of the set they all came on stage and had a session. It was one of the best things I've ever seen.
Your wish has been granted
They actually did
Just beautiful (and makes me wanna buy a Schecter) 😁🙏🏻
I love this song..so i keep coming here to listen to this amazing piece..& for sum reason the starting tune of this song always reminds me of Michael Keaton 1989 Batman theme..
It's pure beauty,I can sing the whole song with your playing.
All the tracks from this album are absolutely gems.
Always a fan of your musicality.
Lovely track man - really enjoyed this :-)
Really enjoyed the melodies and your phrasing man, best of luck with the release!
Thanks buddy :-)
Collab maybe? :')
YASSS

Heard a wee bit of white dove at 3:46
Song holds up so well, just killer on every level.
Probably the most impressive guitar performance since Vai's Passion & Warfare album. This song has absolutely all!!! 👌🔥👌🔥👌🔥
Nick Johnston is one of the few musicians who can still produce something totally original on the guitar. Great instrumental. This was the first track I listened to by Nick years ago and still can not have enough of it.
Um..that's one of the best solos I've ever heard. The swapping between dark and light is so flawless. Go nick!
@@grantdraus7449 i have indeed. My tastes are everywhere lately. Being stuck home sick for months has exposed me to so much great music
It's everything you expect from this gentleman, and even more :) Beautiful melodies, great tone, and unmistakably Nick's slippery licks.
breathing new life into blues, and rock. this is incredible, thank you so much for your hard work. you deserve it man
This song has everything to make it a true masterpiece.
Great audio recording quality
A catchy chorus/melody
Unique & fresh ideas for solos & licks
Great overall band tightness
And so much more
This song actually inspired me to learn this amazing tune by ear. And I will make a tab in case there is not one already

This is refreshing. I've been a fan of Satch and other instrumental guitar soloists for years but just found this and already love what I'm hearing. Awesome.
Beautiful melody and playing. Love the twists and turns in this one. Really looking forward to the album.
It comes dangerous close to sounding like "Les Miserables"
love the reaction when the guitar disappears at the end 👍🏽👍🏽😁
I don't know why this inspires me to something good. And I know I'm not the only one who has felt this way while listening to this masterpiece! Let us all be Remarkably Human!
He has all the sounds of all the best guitarists in the world combined into one..
so beautiful...
So different melodic aproach!
3:35 Love that chord progression... so smooth ! haha
Great song , can"t wait for the album to be released !
That is actually a very common chord progression. He could have done a better one. The melody is good and blends many moods though.
so elegant....as his fingers dance across the fretboard...
Never heard this guy before! He's awesome :)
Nick Johnston, Guelphite here. Can't wait for this one! Your playing is both moving and inspiring. Been waiting for this for a while and already super impressed! Can't wait for the complete offering. Good luck to you, sir.
this surely will become a classic for future guitarists. bless you nick, this is just incredible.
Like a fine wine, this will Age Gracefully. Thanks Nick.
That tone, that feel, everything is incredible about this song, one of my favorite instrumental songs ever!
Feels like the Strings Singing on this Song & make the listeners have to know Message on this Song. Awesome 🎉
2020: I'm listening again, it's just great, Nick
Just love this track..never get tired of revisiting..
Cliff Burton is reborn and plays guitar
Dystopian harmonies filled with hearts full of unconditional love and hope. Anthem of the endtimes. Embrace the new beginning.
I'm making a huge ear training progress learning this album songs by ear. Also, sorry for any grammatical errors and greetings from Brazil !
Beautiful music. Full professionalism. Nothing too much and nothing too little, every note where it should be.
The best guitarist of recent years, version of Remarkably Human in my Channel. Thanks for your Music, Nick!!
I saw most of these music videos awhile back. I just want to leave another gracious comment for the legend that is Nick Johnston.
An absolutely beautiful melody, can't wait for more!
What a freedom to hear EVERY note by a guitar player on YT. Real single coils without that awful high gain dist. Brilliant !!!
Just when I thought I just can't find any new interesting music anymore and then I stumble across this! My god, this is so perfect in every way!
Everytime I listen to this track it renews my music spirit Thank you Nick Johnston
Your tone and phrasing are addictive. Great job Nick!
_Molto bello._
That is the absolute best piece of music I have heard in a long time.
The modern day Mike Oldfield! like Mike ignored by mainstream rock stations and idiots that call themselves critics! keep up the amazing work Nick! Many of us that love you!
All the musicianship, none of the wankery. I'm a new fan.
Can’t believe I’ve only just heard this and now it’s playing constantly. Binge listening to nick to catch up. What a incredible musician. Love it.
It bothers me that when I type "Nick Johnson" in TH-cam search bar that he isn't the first thing that shows up. He is obviously the best Nick Johnson! Why TH-cam!
Johnston*
maybe because he is nick 'johnsTon' with a T and not 'johnson' with a coffee.
Because he's Nick JohnsTon. 😂

Very good! I really like your style, feeling and compositions.
Remarquablement beau ce morceau interprété par vous Nick Johnston avec la guitare Schecter .Merci infiniment. ❤
Excelente músico, tiene una gran identidad y creatividad. No me canso de escucharlo.
Everything about this song is excellent. From the celestial vibe, to the phrasing, to the cinematography and color grade, the tone, the phrasing. Enjoyed it a lot. Thank you for this amazing song.
Hey Nick, This should be the theme for the
next James Bond Movie....Excellent
I like this album a lot. Just found Nick.
I read Nick's album description for this one and I'm 100% hyped now. Atomic Mind, while a brilliant exhibition of guitar talent and musicianship, overall wasn't my cup of tea, it just dabbled in too many genres I don't really listen to and I could never get into it. Those vibratos not only sound beautiful but they look extraordinary while they're played!
from 0:00 to 0:06 : Fallout 4
Yeah the whole main melody is a theme from the fallout games
I also don't think it's a total coincidence that he's filming the video at a wasteland-y location ;)
Fallout 4/3, New Vegas doesn't have the same theme
Yass,.,. i thought the same thing dude! :D
Blues/rock/blugrass guitarist of about 15 years here--you did some things in this song that I never knew you could do with a guitar. You, sir, are astounding.
Keep it up!
I AM PICKING AGAIN MY GUITAR BECAUSE OF YOU...
4:27 ok this is the most swaggy thing i've seen someone ever done on a guitar !
This song has the same melodic timbre as Dream Theater's "The Best of Times" from Black Clouds and Silver Linings.
Jesus i have heard this many times and always find more new stuff, that right hand slide with pull offs after at 4:28 jeeee, repeat like 50 times 😍
Full of emotion! My kind of instrumental, great job man! :)
Found out about you a couple of years ago, Nick.
I sincerely believe you 're the most interesting and musical guitar instrumentalist I 've heard in years.
Keep on doing what you do!
Every time he plays the main melody, I keep expecting him to start play the Best of Times solo.
Gods, I love this so much... every note, every chord change... so melodic. Guitar perfection.
so many thoughts while i watch this: 1) mikael akerfeldt used to be my favorite guitarist.. used to be.. 2) holy cow he's got the best vibrato ever 3) if this isn't djent i don't know what is, it's heavier than any of that trendy hot topic djent i hear on TH-cam 4) i'm learning that chord progression for the middle solo
This is not djent...it's melodic . It's more in line with 80s guitar solos and riffs. Djent is deep fast thick metal
I wouldn't call this gent at all. It's more oriented to the great ones, Vai, Gowan, etc. It is a masterpiece indeed.
Hands down my favorite instrumental album but truth is that it’s so lyrical it doesn’t feel like a instrumental album to me at all that’s why I love it !
Nick Johnston should collaborate with Guthrie Govan, that would be awesome
Aatrey Bhatt he did on the Atomic Mind album. Check out the song "Silver Tongued Devil"
@@eddiediaz933 newbs amirite :D
This song by Nick has always been UFB .... utterly friggin brilliant, best player on the planet and compo
DOPE!
This is the best song I have heard in a long time...
Great song ! The recording work is one of the best I think I've ever heard
Absolutely love this album!
That lick at 4:49 WTF
What about it? xD
wtf indeed
Wish we could see his fingers instead of his picking hand...
Great run, seamlessly over the key/chord changes, really really nice.
killer
Oh man...this tune, this tune gives me so much hope. Your harmonies are out of this world. #respect
that's a great composition. maturity in his melodic discourse and with ordered cadences.
I like it
a real artist ,
