On the underexposure v. overexposure point, you can recover more information from the highlights, but color reversal film needs to be handled without over-exposing.
I’ve never been able to shoot portraits (time and scheduling) but this definitely helped inspire me to push my self a little more to take some portraits!
Yes dude do it! Even at night if you have more free time you can create some awesome work. The thumbnail was shot at night outside a shop no extra lighting either! Just the one outside the shop.

@@MomentsWithBrandon these are all awesome video ideas I’d love to get around to making! I have a few of 1. On my channel but I’m definitely doing more soon! Thank you for all the ideas hopefully I can bring these to life soon!
Thanks so much for watching! 🙏 my go to lens is the canon 24-70 2.8ii L most were shot with that! The other lens I use is the canon 50 1.8 lens! Super cheap and sharp. Hopefully that helps!
Really enjoying your channel and looking forward to what's coming next. Would you say your Canon 630 is similar to a DSLR in terms of automation or is there still a lot of manual setup, light metering etc? Thanks
It just depends on how much blur you want! If it’s sunny out but you want to be at f/1.8 you would need to have a high shutter speed and low ISO, typically.
Get the negatives scanned digitally at a local lab! They’ll same them to your email for you to download. I just upload them in Lightroom and make minor adjustments!
Honestly just driving around LA gets me inspired enough! I’m originally from a small town in the Midwest so anything that stands out to me here, I want to photograph.
I’d recommend the 50mm 1.8 for the SLR type of film cameras! Even fully analog like the AE-1 or F3 I’d still try and get a 50mm. Something about that mm feels like what your eyes see.
would love to get those scans ahahha! looks like in europe there is no one able to get a good starting scan from a frontier!!!!!! btw love you work! thanks for sharing!
@@SkylerWagonerlooks like fuji frontier bit underexposed in camera. Are you doing it on purpose? Might try to go that way, mine always looks at the limit of hdr…🤷🏻♂️
i love seeing the process behind all of this!! keep them coming!!
Thank you so much! New upload soon 🤞🤞

Good tip! I appreciate that!
Awesome video! I’m going to use these tips with my Minolta X-700 and see how they improve my shots. Thanks for sharing with the film community!
That’s awesome! Hopefully they help 🙏 always trying to give back!

Would you say your Canon 630 is similar to a DSLR in terms of automation or is there still a lot of manual setup, light metering etc?
Thanks
Thanks so much! I would say the 630 is very automatic. Almost too easy to use which makes it so great!
So if you lower your aperture are you raising your shutter speed? Not fully understanding how they go hand in hand
It just depends on how much blur you want! If it’s sunny out but you want to be at f/1.8 you would need to have a high shutter speed and low ISO, typically.
keep killing it king!
Thank you bro!! I want to work on something with you! 🤝🤞
So you can shoot film and bring it to digital to edited it?
How do you do that?
And what fun did you use for the girl with the bug eye glasses? 🔥🔥🔥

If you meant film then I believe it was Ektar 100!
How do you go about finding your locations? Amazing vids

You are bro!!
Which lens do you recommend ?

I appreciate that thank you! I know most of these 35mm shots were scanned by a Fuji scanner but not exactly sure which type!

Thank you so much!!
New subbie. Great video!
Thank you so much!! 🙏🙏
So nice! You forgot to talk about the lenses that you've used tho :(
Sorry about that! I usually only bounce between the 24-70 2.8 & the 50 1.8! Hope that helps 🤞
what editing software do you use?
I use Lightroom for coloring, cropping, masking and then skin retouching in Photoshop!
lens name please ?
I typically use the canon 24-70 2.8 and the 50mm 1.8!
How much is this camera?
Between $100-$200 USD I’d say!
sooo good!!!
