When Titan punched Clive and formed a path I knew he was gonna have to run but I was like please don't cutscene me and let us play through the running. I don't think ive been that hyped for a moment in gaming in so long.
Things I love about this theme: * I like the fact that apparently Soken couldn't help himself and made this Titan's theme resemble the FF14 Titan's theme (I think he even confirmed on his Twitter that he was asked to make the theme consistent with to the other Eikon battle themes, but couldn't help himself because "it's Titan!"). * There's still a more "consistent" version of the song in the final phase. * I think Platinum Games were among the developers for the Eikon fights and this fight (and Bahamut's) show that off the most to me (wouldn't be surprised if they had a hand in designing the battle portion of Titan Lost and the final fight against Titan himself), especially since there's two obvious call backs to their style of cool over-the-top combat in this battle (specifically, the conclusion of the entire battle features three "snapshots" of the final blow before giving the results, much like how Verses in the Bayonetta series end, and Ifrit basically does a Red Hot Kick to finish off Titan Lost during the transition from that phase to the final one. I'd also call the entire last phase a callback to Bayonetta 2, where one of the boss fights has Bayonetta "falling" down a long tower with an angel boss chasing and attacking her during the descent).
Not just Platinum, though I'm sure they're involved: iirc the combat director for Devil May Cry 5 was on the team for this game, and that explains a lot TBQH (positive)
@@CojaGamez if you can verify some sort of evidence to suggest that it was supposed to be a duel then I'll yield until then you have shown me nothing. For a "duel" there sure was alot more odin than ifrit. It was just rushed its easy to tell.
It wasn't until I was like 60% through this boss fight that I realized you could destroy the obstacles and projectibles with attacks. The ENTIRE time, I just kept using perfect dodges it felt so damn satisfying to take like zero damage with skill.
As a DMC fan, this game not only rocked my world but with the phase when it begins to play heart of stone- _god goody good juice just flooded my brain_
Funnily enough, same thing I felt, and that's about how I felt between the Ifrit and Titan Trials in FFXIV. Sluggish and slow-paced, but once Titan happened, the game kicked into high gear REALLY fucking fast.
Asura’s Wrath + DMC and I’m all for it. Tired of playing as these little ass, geeky, pretty boy main characters. Square Enix “evolutionizing” FF was long over due.
My gf knows next to nothing about ff but is super into music so i sent her this theme and Bahamut’s It was absolutely wonderful getting a text 20 minutes later going “WTF IS FINAL FANTASY” Titan top three boss fights for sure :D
my one question is why is he called "Titan Lost" if its really just a big power up at the time? cause before the game released, i thought it would be some un-controlled corruption with a very different situation. this? its different then i expected, especially considering what happens after you kill the mountain of a behemoth.
Even some of the bosses get a name change when they basically just get a power up like this. But to be fair Hugo has lost all semblance of himself and the blue lines likely indicate something.
Because he's sacrificing his life to win, dude was overdosing on crystals so much he'd be dead even if he beat Clive. He's lost his mind and cares about nothing but revenge.
Does anybody else feel major pity for Hugo? I understand he was a bad guy, but to see him lose his mind due to arguably the manipulation of others just makes him seem so tragic, especially since he never learns the truth
Admittedly, I was looking into this game with catious optimism after being massively disappointed with FF15. Watching/listening to this, holy hell this is amazing. XD I know what game to get once I buy a PS5 (or if it gets ported to pc, maybe).
I wonder, why do they say Cinematic Clash and Cinematic Evasion after you complete the QTE? If it's so Cinematic, then maybe I would rather watch that then be distracted but words popping up.

I think it's meant to sound alien to the rest of the soundtrack, since this fight is now no longer "Clive v. Hugo" and is now just "Ultima's Mythos experiment". It's why it sounds similar to the Typhon fight, which had the same context.
I have the feeling that I'm the only one that didn't really like this fight... A lot of review said that this fight gonna be a classic with years etc, but IMO it was really meh. The soundtrack is okay and fit the fact we fight Titan/Hugo, it's badass and cool in the same time, but the fight itself : The rnning start was okay, the running on tentacules was awfull and not very clear what to do here, the parts destroying the arms is the best for me (reminds me the fight against Sin in FFX in a way), but then, THE FALL !!! Oh god, so boring ! Fight VS Bahamut or Ultima are way better than this.
The reason is because in the game, dodging muffles audio, this includes music audio. This video was made before the official soundtrack was released, so unfortunately it sounds like that sometimes

Just because you are bigger doesn't always mean you are better
Why does it keep fading in and out at certain points?
Largely because the uploader recorded it straight off the game, and the game lowers the music volume to make room for huge sound effects and the like.
