I own a RK71 (with gateron red switches) and have done a few mods for a "Thocky" or deep sound since i fell deep into this rabbit hole of custom keyboard hobby
Mods:-
1. Foam mod for the case for sound dampening and to reduce hollowness (i used a yoga mat).
2. Tape mod. (basically u stick 2-3 layers of tape behind the pcb)
3. added another thin layer of foam between the plate and pcb that acts like switch pads (it comes with a pcb foam too)
4. clipped and holee moded the stabs (my unit had prelubed stabs too).
5. installed OEM profile Dye Sub PBT Keycaps (White and Blueish black) from Keychron.
After doing these mods my board sounds much better than stock but have skipped the main part which is lubing switches.
Further am deciding to buy some lube for switches (maybe krytox 205g0 or keychron's lube), Durock plate mounted stabs, gateron milky yellows or akko cs jelly black switches and a Coiled cable.

Thank you! 4k is a big price difference. You can spend 2k on modding the base versions of these keyboards and it will sound better than v1 imo

I've the hot-swappable variant of RK71 with yellow switches. It's pretty good vfm for 4400 INR.

Is there any thing different in wired and detachable wired keyboards? The only diff is that you can't ruin your wires in anyway and can replace it anytime against the non detachable one.s
Aesthetics too. You can change the look of your setup with a removable cable.
Bro I have a doubt regarding rk84:
What's the use of USB hub and also you have mentioned card reader and usb dongle which I can't understand, I just know that it is used to charge/connect with laptop/pc wired way.
Usb hub is like an USB extension. You convert one port to multiple.
So instead of connecting the card reader or wireless dongle to the back of the PC, you can connect it to the keyboard

Haven't tested the rk100 v2 but it will not sound as good as the rk84 v2 because of its design

I had rk71, it stopped working after 9month even after doing RMA they refused to fix it bec they said the diode is missing and returned the keyboard, i have a rgb paperweight now.
Can you try to get it repaired by someone from mk India subreddit?
@@HardwareMana i am in mk discord, they said the dont know schematic of that particular pcb but one guy was willing to give me his broken(physically broken) 71 for cheap but i refused bec i dont have time to invest in mech keyboard repair.

They don't have wired version? I play csgo mostly and love 60% keyboard [apart from easiness in travelling they make distance between left and right hand short, it may sound wierd but I have seen other players tilting their keyboard for the same reason. 60% saves from that.] For normal use I use 100% keyboard.
For gaming I would prefer a wired one so as these have type c, can we use it or it's for charging only?

It has both the options i believe. The rk labelled are also made by gateron so not an issue either way
How is warrenty and service in India?
Can I change/turn off the color(backlit) without installing any software. I just need white color back light. I would like to use it with office laptop so i cannot install third party softwares.

@@HardwareMana I was able to change the backlight to Pink, Blue, Purple, Green, Yellow, Teal, and Red without software. I installed the software on my personal laptop and changed the color to white (255,255,255) then connected it to my office laptop. The white backlight remained the same even though I do not have software on my office laptop. I love this keyboard. Thank you for answering.

Almost equal. The t400 is slightly faster if I'm not wrong
I'm leaning toward the RK84. I don't care about the wireless problems because I plug my keyboards into my PC, which is within 2 feet of my keyboard.
Yeah, but the bluetooth 5.0 works faster than 2.4ghz. So thats another option. But if you are playing AAAs, then wired is best.

Ngl these keyboards are pretty bad stock, but these keyboards can be modded really easily and are a good choice for people who want to get into the mechanical keyboard hobby.
