I bought mine to replace my smart watch, i got tired of being constantly "connected", i wanted to sever that connection, but wanted something that would still track my steps since i love going for walks and hikes. I use the bluetooth to connect to the smart phone, yes, but don't use it for notifications or telling me when my phone rings. Its for that exact reason (besides the MIPS screen) that i love this watch. Being disconnected is truly liberating and for the money its great! The only real "nit pick" i had was the short claimed battery life. I love it so much i plan on buying a "Casioak" next. What people need to remember is, that this is not a smart watch. It's not meant to be one. Its just a great G-shock that happens to offer 1 or 2 conveniences of a smart watch, i suppose for those that absolutely have to stay connected 24x7... Even while going for a jog... Just my 2c.
I've the blue version, and it is terrific. I mostly bought it to track my runs and it's been great, I get a difference of usually 100-200meters over a distance of 5km, tracks pace quite good. I dislike smart watches I just needed this for running and it does that pretty well and has an awesome display. It uploads my runs to strava after it connects to phone via bluetooth. I love this watch :)
This particular model is an excellent watch. It's NOT supposed to be a smart watch. It was built by Casio to be used as a REGULAR G-SHOCK watch. The extra smart features that are in this model are there for convenience purposes only to give you notifications from your phone that you would otherwise have to look at your phone to see if you were wearing something else other than this model. Get over it if you want this model to be a smart watch. It isn't.
It's neither a good watch. I bought as an upgrade to 5610u and it fails at that. Screen, yes its 11/10 it's super fantastic. But anything else? Hugely disappointed.

It feels like there’s a lot of lag when changing modes - whatever you do don’t press the Run button from the Home Screen. It’ll take 10 seconds to get back to timekeeping mode. Changing settings on the watch from 6:00 to 6:30 will require 30 button presses and you can’t hold the button. Everything on this watch feels sluggish. But the interval timers are great, it has vibration alarms and alerts, a super common CR2032 battery and an excellent display. It’s a good watch but could be even better in a future revision.

I use the bluetooth feature all the time and that will drain the battery. What's nice is that the memory is saved after you change the battery. I thought I had to set everything up again. The negative display looks great indeed, I just wish Casio made this watch, with this display size and contrast, without any useless fitness features or "smart" features, and just made it more robust so it can actually be used outdoors. In owner's manual Casio lists - "Do not operate the crown or buttons while your watch is submersed in water or wet" - "Avoid wearing your watch while in the bath" - "Do not wear your watch while in heated swimming pool, sauna or any other high temperature/high humidity environment" - "Do not wear your watch while washing your hands or face, while doing house work or while performing any other task that involves soaps or detergents" - "Do not leave in direct sunlight for long periods of time.." It looks robust but seems like it's more like porcelain to me.
I think these warnings are there just to warn you about general chemistry. materials act differently in certain temperatures and with certain chemicals. they assume you would wear this outdoors or while sporting, not when you dish wash. pools and sea water is okay for these watches. you should consider these.

But Garmin. Don't invest in Casio. They slept the smart revolution, but they don't even listen to customers and put out this ridiculous noon working products. "It's not supposed to be smart" then why put those features? Watch is too big, to slow even in stopwatch mode (JFC, unusable 😂...) Only function is watch with great screen then again, it's way too big for that.
Awesome looking watch with a fantastic MIP display and vibration alarm. Those are the good points. The UI however is so piss-poor that Casio should be ashamed for eternity. The buttons response time is a joke and if you ever try to set a countdown beyond 60 minutes, you are in a world of shit. The GBD-200 can only be recommend for people who want a stylish sci-fi/retro looking square other than that it's garbage.
I like the look, but it is useless. Even simple functions like the timer is very slow, it takes seconds to reset the timer and it doesn’t display the time and timer together neither. So I can’t even use this in the gym to time my rests between sets.
@@ayushtank_2307 This is an excellent model. You can use the stopwatch feature and the stopwatch also displays th time on the same screen on the bottom part of the screen. I recommend this model. Don't be afraid to buy it. It will serve you well for many years.
I have the slightly better spec gbx100, and while i love the clarity of the display, the UI and features are HORENDOUSLY poor - a useless stopwatch (doesn't count fractions of a second, only whole seconds?? The whole way functions are selected is also bizarre, I really don't know WHAT Casio were thinking when they designed these. If they just made a solar, multiband 6 model 5600, with the ONLY added extra feature being a step counter and with a MIP display, it would be perfection, but no......they gave us the DW-H5600MB (That NOBODY wanted).......WHAT A JOKE!.

Can you like turn off all those "smartwatch capabilities" such as notifications, walk counts and etc and then just fully use it manually like a normal gshock (to further save the battery". They should have made 5610u with MIP display, better strap. Smart features aren't working here and even stopwatch is SUPER SLOW to a point is not usable. Also it's bigger than 5610u. even though it isn't a smartwatch, the design is pleasing and looks tough.
This watch gets the most wrist time. My daily walk (5km twice) the gym 4 days a week. Cooking times every day etc…great watch

Fair review, I had this watch but sold after few months just due to interests in other models but have to say this is a brilliant watch.

My ocd can't stand when there's no 1/100th of a sec in the stop watch. It's only counting full seconds.
