Yes! I use those holo nail powders in my molds all the time, they always turn out so nice. I just take an old fluffy eyeshadow brush and buff it in and it doesn't use much like that.
The buffing it is the step I regret not doing. :D I've got some more on order, JUST so I can do it even better the next time.

I really like the original color settings... In the other one, while it looked pretty, the colors were "screaming" at me a bit, and the last thing I think of when I think of the crafsman is screaming :)

@@TheCrafsMan Yeah, the textural blacks of your normal color profile are nicer than the clamped blacks of the new one. And you can always boost the saturation a bit in post if you want the colors to pop a bit more.

The Holo powder woks even better when you rub it onto the sides of your mold. Use a makeup eyeshadow brush and buff it onto your mold before pouring resin in.

The holographic powder-- I have a hint for you! If you use a very soft paint brush to buff in the powder into the mold before you pour resin, then the effect will be absolutely AMAZING!

Hey Crafsman, folk art makes something called DRAGONFLY GLAZE, it's essentially the holographic powered mixed with mod podge. It might work well as a top coat for it. Works great for my projects.

I know this is a reply to an over-year-old video, but I was watching a bunch of your older stuff again and I just have to say, so many portions of so many of your videos are techniques and tips and tricks to fight off, in particular, bubbles that can appear during the process of casting figures. I just got this wild idea while watching this to suggest maybe someday taking a 'can't beat em, join em' approach and trying to make some kind of semi transparent figure that's full of bubbles on purpose, I feel like I've seen things like that around over the years and I think they look really cool, and I'd be truly fascinated to see how you'd handle and go about doing the very opposite of what you so badly usually try to do :P
I'm watching this while waiting for my first guitar pickup winding jig and supplies.

Mr. CrafsMan, you could have stretched that holographic powder if you used it like the nail technicians do: cast the figure, paint it with a non-sticky gel top coat, baked it under a uv lamp for 1 minute, rubbed that powder on it using a eyeshadow sponge applicator & then burnished with your gloved finger and finally put a final shiny top coat to seal and bake it for another minute to make it look really dynamic! If you use the powder like that it will last a long time!

You might be interested in chrome power they use on finger nails. These glitters and powder inclusion often need a gloss coat to see it better.

not sure if someone already mentioned it, or if you already tried, but what about using a pliable wax as a container for the rubber mold to be poured in instead of the plastic cups? For ex., red gouda cheese wax is pliable and can be re-used, so you can just shape the mold that you want and the rubber shouldn't stick to the wax, then when it is cured, you can just rip the wax(it's pliable and elastic), and re-use it for the next mold. This way you can save some silicone because the wax container will be the exact size that you need it, and you won't need to use all of these plastic cups all the time. also, monster clay is just wax, so you might be able to make containers from that too and the silicone shouldn't stick to it, and it can also be re-used. I will be testing small samples of these things out soon as well and i may give an update.. or i might forget to give an update..
