December is the beginning of the best time to go camping here in the frosty northeastern corner of the country. Pulling a pulk, cooking over fire, ice fishing.
…or Arizona. We backpack year around. It’s desert backpacking season now. It’s amazing. Especially when the water starts flowing in about a month or so.

Checking in from Salem, I throw my water filter in the fridge in my garage. Easy to keep track of it and prevents freezing.
