I’ve always found it funny the transformer that was ripped apart to rebuild Megatron was literally called Scrap Metal. Talk about a fitting name

@@taariq7481 it’s especially funny coming from Scalpel which looks like one of the smallest, if not the smallest transformer, seen in the films (not including that brain worm he carries with him and Earth devices that turn into transformers after being exposed to the power of the cube of course).

Megatron said he wanted to be the most badass vehicle and the shard said " best I can do is weird tank".

literally only just realised megatron’s head is at the front of the tank and that will forever bother me now. You’d think he’d wear some more protection with his head all exposed like that, kinda gets rid of the idea of a tank tbh

I always thought that the reason megatron converted himself into a flying tank was for tactical reasons because he has the armor of a tank and the aerial superiority of a jet, a really tanky jet

In all honesty, that tank mode is the epitome of badass, his entire design in RoTF is my favorite in bayformers from the track legs to the extra face armor to the crab claw cannon etc. And I'm glad that studio series finally did the design some justice.

Plot twist: Megatron originally had a tank as his vehicle mode and actually scanned a “jet” vehicle mode to go after the all spark

I know! And he's not even the first version of Megatron to have such a design! Transformers Armada's Megatron turned into a Cybertronian tank, and his head sticks out in the same way!

ACTUALLY he got his tank mode because when he was revived, Starscream threw a bday party for the bdays his missed while he was dead and one of his gifts was a little toy tank and he liked it a lot so he chose his next alt mode to be that tank

What I find weird about this is that the shard could just repair Megatron easily so there would be no need to kill Scrapmetal (I could say that again because he became scrap metal). But if Scalpel didn’t know this fact, I wouldn’t blame him

I love the G1 designs but I love some bayverse designs even more. I very much prefer the spikey gladiator look on megatron. My favorite megs designs are TLK, TF1, and Transformers Prime

I always assumed he transformed. Unless they're trying to copy something, I don't think they need to scan an alt mode. They just reconfigure themselves as necessary.
Yea I always thought they could transform into an alt mode without scanning. I think the scanning is just for vehicles they are unfamiliar with so they could be as accurate as possible

Huh, I always thought while yes, he had to lose the jet mode, that this tank form was just one of his old modes, hence why he seemed much more dangerous with it toward the end of the film. He had to readjust to an old version of his body also hence why he got his tailpipe handed to him by prime in the forest.

@@XZAVIER-DAA-GOD in a 1v1 battle megatron would have been clapped. His body was super off balance and he was less coordinated even 3v1 the decepticons were getting clapped and only killed Prime because he was worried about Sam

To me, it’s weird how the wheels and the wheel pad of the tank arrange in a specific way that it forms his legs!!! That’s sounds weird... The CGI just blows my mind!
There’s a lot of things people can criticise these movies for but the CGI and complexity of their transformer’s is honestly impressive, especially given how the first film is 13 years old now and still looks amazing.
Whoever had to animate the transformation scenes I tip my hat to you sir

I always thought his shoulder was bigger because of the lobster claw arm so he cam maintain balance while using it. If you keep your optics on Megatron he's having a hard time trying to use his lobster arm.

Fun fact: In the TF2 comic novelization, Megatron was a triple changer. Meaning that he can transform into both his cybertronian jet and tank mode.
Megs’s jet-fueled tank mode was one of the BEST modes he had.

I feel like the shoulder was to accomodate his new weapons considering how much more kick it had and due to it being on his arm the shoulder was used to weigh it down their for meaning megatrons arm wouldn’t be thrown back as much and could use his weapon more effective also it would accomodate the sword giving him more weight behind his swings
That under water scene was hilarious when o saw first... imagine m going to revive Megatron today to and realizeing may be should have sit this one out

I remember a episode in Transformers Animated where Professor Sundac told (broken head separated from the body) Megatron that he was lucky his body was found before the snow storm hit and Megatron responded:
"Cybertronian technology can withstand more than this planet's pathetic conditions"
That explains why Megatron's body never got crushed even in the lowest depths of the ocean

I know how. First off scalpel saw megatron's body was badly damaged second the constucticon's used scrapmetal's parts to rebuild megatron's body that's how megatron got his cybertronian tank alternate mode. And the Scrapmetal got ripped under the water was a drone, because the real one combines to form the upper left hand of devastator.

Fun fact rotf megatron can transform to jet mode and tank mode so a transformer can also have 2 alt mode bc in Egypt when after he killed sam I notice that when he transformed back to a tank he flew has well so that means that megatron still has the jet mode

He was rebuilt with the tank mode. We literally saw exactly how Megatron was brought back in the movie. There are a lot of unanswered questions and plot holes in these films but this isn't one of them.

My original theory was that Meg got the tank mode shortly before crashing to earth on tf1, so he didn’t use it because it was foreign to him. But your theory makes a lot more sense (considering the new body mode for him).

You’ve answered something that was constantly nagging my mind.
Scrap Metal didn't appear to have treads on his legs.
I'd say Megatron's tank mode was likely a previously scanned design, either on Cybertron or some other planet, and it was recalled for use by the All Spark.
Or, recall that in the first film, the All Spark did create new tranformers: the Nokia cell phone, the vending machine, the video game unit, and the SUV. In the second film, a scrap of the All Spark ceated new transformers out of Sam's kitchen appliances. Those suddenly had arms and weapons where they previously didn't. Thus, one could argue the All Spark acted similarly to Megatron's lifeless body and gave him a new alternate mode.
I loved both his Cybertronian Jet and Cybertronian Tank mode, but I think I prefer his second body.
