I have a suggestion: when company staff asks you "But WHY????", simply tell them that you are creating archival footage for future generations that will enable them to compare the area how it was 10, 20 or 50 years in the past.
Or better still, say “None of your business what I do in public!”

I was looking for that too, he was holding it upside down to start with.
Technically wasnt he flying his drone on behalf of the company as the company allowed him to take off from their property knowing what he was going to do, also witnessed no VLOS. shady position to be in!
Not scaffolding but pallet boxes you can adjust the size by stacking one on top of the other. The boards are hinged at each corner.

The guy could not have had line of sight to his drone from his location.

You could report him to the CAA as he created a near miss and had no VLOS…not sure that I could see an operator ID on his drone either
I know! I think he realised and brought it down quickly!
Operator ID could be inside the battery compartment, can be on anywhere on the drone, as long as it's easily accessible, eg, without having to use a tool to remove where it is. Screwdriver for example.
Anyone watching this video could report the guy to the CAA for the VLOS and airspace infringement with a link to this YT video. He wouldn't be difficult to ID as he is associated with that business. I'd like to think he'd learnt a lesson after this though and will actually look up the legislation and stay within the drone code from now on.
obviously not to bright on drone laws and regulations.
Funny the guy make a big deal about what BP is doing yet violates the law himself by not keeping his drone in his sight.

I think our bald hero was thinking about getting 'hands on' too. Certainly, he realised the fact it wasn't his home made him look dumb, The drone pilot was just plain irresponsible (newbie), but his little pal trying to help made it worse

I was shopping in the supermarket this morning and a couple were in there wearing Face Muzzles and I did not find that suspicious so why does the drone flyer employee think wearing a Face Covering is suspicious ?? He did temper his reactions once his lawbreaking was pointed out regarding drone rules set by the CAA. Goes to show they think BP is a lawbreaker but break the law themselves.

Someone is about to have his drone licence revoked for breaking several laws. When the CAA (civil air authority) watches this video and finds the silly man's identity out, he might as well list his drone on Ebay. "But how will the CAA get hold of this video" you ask? I'm sending it to them after cropping it to the relevant times.

@@Smeeagain75 As somebody who photographs private dwellings ,There is no expectation of privacy if its domestic residence . Doxing the location online would be a privacy issue . But i would never leak the location, as I too want to keep it secret so as not to encourage other photographers to copy my work . this sets folks minds at rest if they come out to confront me .

What are folk to frightened about.
If you held their feet to the fire, what do you think they would say is the reason that they are concerned about you taking a photograph of their building? I believe they would not be able to come up with a coherent reason, and that is simply a reaction coming from a form of their built-in "Scopophobia"! (which can be found worldwide and would have to be explained by a qualified professional)

Drone was hovering and not moving and I was aware of where it was!
Vlos means you must be able to see it from your position. It doesn't mean you have to keep looking at it at all times.

Probably not. Seemed like he was very new to the hobby. Could get get himself in a lot of trouble if he doesn’t clue himself up with the latest Drone code and regulations regarding drones. When BP mentioned Drone Assist app, he had a blank look on his face, probably because he’s never heard of it. For those out there who are also unaware, Drone Assist is an app made by Altitude Angel, which shows which areas in the UK are designated as “No Fly Zones”, (shown in red), such as prisons. A great bit of software!
