We cycle around the place, have a peek inside an open door onto the pitch and then take the drone up.

Wow, the manager was such a really cool, polite guy. I'm a fan of this character. He put his view across politely and engaged with you in a positive manner. He was educated and had previous experience of drones. EVEN the police came off in a good light. What's going on these days......there's freedom and common sense breaking out all over the place?!
go watch it again. he was not perfectly cool at all and infact lied from the start... remember and take note of what he said.. i am the stadium manager. er no your not ,the bloke who is the ground manager is not finished until tomorrow, and you will then take over his job., then started talking about private property and sponsors not liking the footage and corporate bullshit... he was not good at all he was just completely out of his depth and did not go into a fit thats all. he ended up gettin ga bit of education but it will not sink in. the police were a joke as the ycome4 out for a drone but not for a crime, and the ydidnt have a clue anyway, and asked the football bloke if he is ok with it / er no sorry chubby but its either legal or illegal , crime or no crime , your not the feelings police, and chubby needs to stop parking outside the local cakeshop and get a bit fitter, he could never catch anyone.... the two police women didnt have a brain between them

Great history on the stadium. To the 1960s, maps show the area was all agriculture and the edge of the car park was noted as Farm No. 1 (possibly Reading Corporation?). An Isolation Hospital c. 1910s-1950s was located in the general area of the stadium entrance and car park. 1948 aerial photo of the area also available showing mostly fields and the housing to the east. Tramways, isolation hospital, sewage works west of Whitley Woods may have been part of the Reading Corporation Act, 1914.

As far as I’m aware, select car leasing have helped reading football club with loans to support reading during there financial issues they are going through. Seems like a good company. I’m sure they will also appreciate this free advertisement from you.

That was a great interaction from both Graham and the 3 police... Burghfield and Aldermaston are Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) sites, hence no-fly zones as they have nuclear weapons onsite.

Of course, with all the made up bad press around drones, people are always going to be very suspicious, with guys flying them. I am pleased you are educating them. I had two of the best drones on the market at the time. The phantom four pro plus and an Inspire 1 pro. Obviously, they are both well over the weight limit and the hoops I would have needed to jump through, just to be able to fly them, really wasn’t worth the hassle, so I gave up my hobby that I loved. I am certainly thinking about getting the mini four pro now though. Mainly thanks to you. Cheers, DJ. 👍

Only been in the ground once, for a rugby match. Like so many modern stadia, it is a bit concrete and soulless. And we lost. The manager and Police seemed really nice folk. Great to see. I think it is pronounced like majesty, but add a k sound after the t.

Thomas, security manger with Virgin Media O2, called the police. Misuse of 999 is a criminal offence and could face up to 6 months in prison and/or £5,000. The officers acted very professional 👍. Stadium manager was pretty nice once he understood what was going on. Well done DJ for explaining what you are doing and knowing the law 👍👍👏👏
Go to the riverside stadium in Middlesbrough, you have ici close by and the old British steel site, and loads of other industrial building around, not to mention the transporter bridge aswell, keep you busy for the day

People are knocking the police here (young, look like chess club etc) but they were presumably sent by despatch. The despatch need education. The police were polite, and interested, and seemed like an intelligent bunch rather than the grunts we often see. Nice to see some polite and bright officers for a change, not throwing their weight around.
People often say auditors are just out for trouble, but this aptly shows that there is a major education piece with good auditing.
