    Chris, I use a long leader and don't handline or use slide divers I have a 30' fluoro leader with a stopper knot close to the braid to leader knot . I use an OR 19 (?) clip , the red one with the pin, attached directly to the arm of the diver. Deploy the bait, clip the diver above the stopper knot and that's all. The diver will trip with the extra drag of a fish, just like when you trip it to change lures so there is no need to attach anything to the back of the diver. . Reel in the fish, unsnap the diver, and bring it in to net. The OR clip will not slip past the knot. This is similar to what Patrick Mier described earlier in the comments. Worked well for me all last summer.

      I’ve heard about this technique and many people like it. But I’m still under the old adage “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. So maybe I’m just stubborn but for now I’ll stick with what has worked for me for many seasons. Maybe sometime down the road I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the insight and the details.

    Get talking about dispute divers and flachers and length of line between them

    I run divers on braid. I have Torpedo fixed slider snaps on the front of diver and a Offshore OR16 clip on the back. I tie a fixed loop knot 2-3" ahead of my 30' mono leader, no snubber. Diver comes off the line as quick as a board (I'm usually solo). Doesn't screw with depth chart, release works, no tangled tackle (whink whink), no struggling with hand lining.

    Question Chris, when fishing for salmon, is you low diver the normal diver (no change in the weight)? I know you mentioned for trout, you keep them low diver as is. Great video as always!

    Chris, by putting on the high diver weight on the low diver unit, how much different, if any, will the depth be than the typical high diver?

    Using 50 pound test do you run spoons?

    • @tangledtacklefishing
      @tangledtacklefishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You definitely can or you can drop it back to less if preferred. I don’t go lower than 30 lbs.

      Not usually. But they doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be or can’t be done.

    How do you store the dipsey with a long leader in transit? You have a long leader because you get more strikes? Will spoons run well with the 50# leader or do you attach a lighter leader for spoons? Thank you for a great video. How do I get notifications for live video episodes? Sub here.
