    Just getting into Great Lakes fishing, have hit Lake Superior several times and will be adding the WI side of Lake Michigan this year. Lots to learn for the bass and walleye guy! I really do appreciate the time you put into making these videos. You explain things well and keep it pretty simple which I appreciate. Subscribed and will keep watching!

    I've just got to say Thank You for all the time you've put into these great tutorial videos. Probably the most practical and helpful information I have found searching for exactly these topics. Your videos are excellent from the content to the production. Nice job! I have been fishing for many years but just bought my first "salmon boat". Last weekend I drove from mid-Michigan to Appleton, Wisconsin to look at a 1992 19' Starcraft Superfisherman 190. It was an amazing deal and everything checked out so I bought it and towed it back home with my Subaru Outback. The boat has a Merc 135 Black Max, Big Jon downriggers, Traxtech track, rod holders, Minn Kota Terrova TM, a 9" Garmin Echomap and a 7" Lowrance Elite, many, many other extras. I'm really excited but now I have to get some gear together. I have been fishing inland lakes for Bass and other species but I've got no real trolling stuff. Thanks to your videos I already know what rods, reels and tackle to purchase to get myself started. I'm planning on doing some solo outings this year on Lakes Michigan and Huron. That could be a good video for you: "Single handed trolling tips and techniques." My biggest worries are landing a good size fish by myself while keeping the boat moving in a safe direction with 2 other lines out. Anyway, sorry for the long winded comment here. haha Take care and keep the videos coming.

    Another very informative video Chris!!! A few questions for ya. What are the two holes on the back of the flasher for?? I see a bunch of you guys run wire!! Do you need special rods for that? I would think wire would cut through your eyelets on the pole like braid over time does. Ever use the Slide Diver where you don't have to worry about leader length when landing a fish?? Thanks!

    • @tangledtacklefishing
      @tangledtacklefishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The two back holes can be used to vary the action of the fly behind the flasher. Each flasher usually has information on it. For wire I use Okuma Convector Pro wire rods. They have stainless steel eyelets which keeps the wire from cutting in. I use slide divers at different times throughout the season. I have a few videos on this channel showing how to use them and set them up.

      8.5 to 10 feet. If you're fishing solo, two 8.5 ft rods works fairly well, one on each side. With more rods, some variety in lengths helps.
