I am so happy I have found your channel. Now I know I can keep my truck for many years to come. Bless you for all the time you have spend to film these tutorials.
Great video and easy to follow steps. It is good that you determined the actuator was stuck low from Forscan rather than not knowing and paying out dearly. I had a similar experience with DPF passive burn failing and triggering fault codes and dash lights. Mazda stated that most mechanics forget to look at the fuel vapouriser for blockage. They quoted $400 to diagnose and $1400 for replacement part and labour. I googled how to check and clean it, and it was blocked. All of a 30 minute job to fix myself. Paid $500 for a scan tool and can diagnose and reset whenever I want.
Great video again. Just a small tip with bolts/screws in hot situations, when putting screws back coat the threads with anti-seize aluminium or copper paste, especially the bolts on the turbo.

So it was the actuator, but I ended up replacing the turbo since I had 250k on it anyway. Nice clear instructions that helped me enormously. Thanks.
I agree that Torx screws can be problematic, two suggestions, I prefer to use a complete 3/8 " socket with integrated Torx than a Torx end, Using a short (preferably brass) punch and hammer to give a couple of sharp whacks will give an initial dislodge or bead break to the screw or any bolt for that matter before applying Torx (or socket) to a firm screw. Often just makes the difference between a clean removal or a chewed out Screw. I prefer a good quality Allen head bolt to a Torx personally. For reassembly chase bolt threads on a wire wheel and apply Lannox Lannolin spray or a light smear of anti size grease spray to ease assembly unless thredlocker is required. Makes a later removal easier!
