Hey my guy, you're one of the purest reactors out there. This albums the one for me and I can't tell you how awesome to see you lean into it. Loved your Microphones reaction too. You're giving us a good cathartic therapy. Keep on keepin on.

My favourite band and album of all time. I first heard PDA on a Bodyboarding DVD 19 years ago, and still today that outro has the same effect it did 19 years ago
The New York scene of the 00’s that interpol came out of was insane. Them, the strokes, the rapture, yeah yeah yeahs, lcd soundsystem, tv on the radio, liars, fischerspooner…on and on and on. Such an amazing time. The nightlife was insane too, and the cocaine was plentiful. lol
I probably had the same reaction when I first listened to this álbum (2011 maybe?) when i was on highschool. It was such a punch an instant conection, no matter how many times I've heard it durin 13 years it always sounds refreshing and relaxing to hear from start to end, not a single "regular" song on it. Interpol was never able to come up with something like this album even though I love their other albums, this was just unmatched.
By the way I got to this thanks to a random Queens of the stone age album reaction from you, suggested by TH-cam. You have a great channel and felt so happy to see your reaction to this album I felt going back to that moment a decade ago!
i watched this with my dad to get him into interpol, and he was dissecting the lyrics and everything 😭😭 i think he liked it too. hes only listened to Evil and he wanted to dive into their other stuff. ur so cool tho ur rlly funny…. new subscribbler 💪
Back with another video ever. No idea if you have had this recommended, but i’d check out Black Metal by Dean Blunt. Reminds me of this album, especially the lyrics and overall sound
Great reaction! I had the chance to see Interpol live in 2017 when they were touring for the 15th anniversary of this album and they performed all the songs, it was sooo good 👌🏻 from that moment on, this became my favorite album. If you want to check out more Interpol music, I recommend you their second album, Antics :)
Great reaction. I'd love to see you react to Hörse of the Dog by The 80s Matchbox B Line Disaster and for a total change of genre to some Kristin Hersh such as her latest release Clear Pond Road...
"But it's different now that I'm poor and aging I'll never see this face again You go stabbing yourself in the neck" My interpretation of this is that (and I know this to be true) he's in a relationship with a model who is constantly making herself look younger and more beautiful through plastic surgery etc hence the stabbing while he gets older naturally and so he's insecure or self aware of that. Might be wrong but that's what I think. "She can't read" is her not being able to see what's happening to their relationship or herself. "I wish I could eat the salt off Of your lost faded lips" The first thing women usually do to dabble with plastic surgery is get lip fillers. Not sure if that was happening when this came out in the early 2000's. This is my all time favourite band, album & song.
Try Interpol- Our Love to Admire, its the third LP and at that time, was a bad album, idk why but the critics put It in a bad place... now that album its like a cult album, just like a good wine, It gets better with the time ☺️😳
It's a real pain to hear the songs dismembered like this. in these cases, moreover, those who listen for the first time cannot get an idea about the value of the songs. In practice, he understands nothing except the verbal explanations of the one who reacts.
NYC was written way before 9/11. It is about being young and disillusioned in New York. It just caught on a new meaning since the album was released post 9/11 and became an anthem of sorts.
@@ayrtlamrin2264 Paul explained the meaning of the song, or the changing of the meaning of the song after 9/11. Saw the interview somewhere, can’t find it. Didn’t know I was talking to a know it all NYC music historian. My bad.
@@brandon7233 Not a know it all. You just seem to be assmad at a simple reply for no reason. You stated they wrote NYC "after their experience in the city JUST AFTER 9/11" I just said that was not the case.
This is one of those albums I've tried to love numerous times and it just doesn't seem to click with me. I'm definitely in the minority 😂. That being said P.D.A and NYC are really something ❤
I've been there with other great albums from bands I like or would like to like. But fortunately not this one, it was like the soundtrack for my life starting college, so I can connect with that moment of my life every time even after more than 10 years, also makes me want to grab a cold beer haha
“That was sex man” and “That shit was crazy” I think describes this album to a tee
I would definitely recommend listening to Interpol's second album Antics as it is also an extremely good album.
SECONDED
Their early stuff is absolute gold...
The type of music you can just get lost in.
Their recent albums are also good like, obviously not as good.
I got to see them live this year and hearing the end of PDA was an out of body experience, so good
"Hands Away" and "The New" were on many acid playlists when I was in college 😍
