You bro I need ya help my boi I’m putting up good number of streams and doing it with my mixed music lol but to me it dint sound as good as it does in my head . I need to reverse this I been following and learning but I’m mixing my music and that’s what I think is the problem I’m not sure so maybe you could tell me what I’m missing by listening to what I did to my mixes .
i feel like a lot of people dont take advantage of youtubes content especially when it comes to mixing and engineering in general, ive watched so many great free masterclasses and your videos and I've learnt so much from the comfort of my own home, thanks for the great content!
OMG the first half of this video is exactly why I stopped going to the studio...the engineers never have any etiquette. Constantly distracted on their phone, people coming in and out the studio, no type of feedback (I would love a shit sandwich!), no type of direction as to when they are actually recording (there's been times I did perfect takes (to me) and the engineer never pressed record- smh) it was so frustrating so I got my own equipment. Love your videos! You are the best teacher on youtube! THANK YOU
How I wish your templates were available these past 10 years. I’ve wasted so much money on gears trying to achieve the sounds your templates gives me. God bless you brother keep up the good work.
I remember this dude back when I went to a field trip back in 2017 to the college he went to, awesome guy, hella funny, hella talented!!! I told him I wanted to become a producer and write my own music and he was super encouraging and it stuck with me to this day, now I’m learning more and more through classes and people like him on TH-cam on how to lay tracks down and all that jazz! Thank you bro for encouraging me bro :)
Your videos have been a life saver man. When work dried up and there was nothing to do for months I decided to learn some recording technique and every video has been helpful. Thanks so much for your time and your pro tips.
What up manye!!! I obtained an audio engineering degree 9 years ago but unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to work or intern for any major/semi-major studio. I just did personal projects and a few jobs in home studios. However I went on an audio hiatus for a few years but decided to get back into it a year or so ago. Found your channel and sub'd as soon as I heard you say "Hey Manye"!!! Thanks for freshing my knowledge as well as being able to learn new things from you. ✌🏾
When recording, definitely use closed ear headphones to reduce feedback in microphone. When Mixing however, it’s best to prevent reflection of sound, so using open back headphones will be the most effective option.
Thank you for always uploading loads of professional videos. I play progressive metal and my recordings sounds loads better thanks to you. Appreciate it very much. Alex in Sweden Stockholm.
My hope never dies for being an artist and videos like this keep me going! Thanks for the knowledge u been sharing for us to learn from thismakes alot difference! ❤️🔥❤️🔥
Great advice every video. You've helped me with my production in so many ways. All this happened to me before I became my own producer. I appreciate you wavy
I love this and agree with everything except shutting the baby up. Look if Amara cries, you just gonna have to let the angel 👼 bless the track !! Lmao 🤣 (I watch the family vlogs). Awesome content !
Wavey, Open-back Headphones are almost critical when I record acoustic guitar. I can put the guitar signal through the headphones but I lose all the ambiance of the guitar track and my ability to control how I'm using my pick. I use Open-back Headphones for recording acoustic so I can hear my performance clearly, naturally and in real time. I don't have to record this way but if I'm going for a performance based piece this technique of recording has many advantages.
I recently came across your channel, and I am very grateful there are people in the world like you. Your channel is inspiring, and motivational. Thank you for sharing. [Fan & Subscriber]
wow those were some great tips often technicians are so involved in the technology they forget their purpose and that is a great performance and a smile and simple respect could go a long way
Appreciate the content man, keep it up. One thing I can say for open back headphones though, is they can be great for mixing if you can't use monitors, or want just want a backup reference, but you're right that they're not good for tracking. If you ever get a chance to check out the Focal Clears or the Audeze LCD-X, you'll be amazed. Kinda hard to explain, but it gives you a sense of space that closed backs can't come close to. It really gives you the illusion of listening to speakers instead of headphones. You can pan something hard left and you'll legit start looking to your left thinking some shit is making a noise on the left side of your room lol, it's real trippy. Again, keep up the great work man!
2 days late but man bro every video u make is very helpful, came across you when i bought logic pro x two weeks back. Once i get my recording down i most Definitely want you and i to work on mixing n mastering bro 🙏🏼🤞🏼⭐️
what do you think would be better? an eyeball or the mic shield? I have the alctron pf8 pro, never used a mic shield. but I always see others use it. what do you think?
Open back headphones deff offer a way wider soundstage than closed back. TBH I would prefer open back 9/10 (ESP for mixing!), unless I'm recording to avoid the problems you state. Beardynamic DT 1990 Pro are some of the best reference headphones I've ever used. Closed back ain't even close... just my 2 cents tho, u can keep the change.. lol love tho, love the vids, no hate or anything
do you use the unison preamp for the apollo or an actual analog preamp? which do you prefer and what preamp would you recommend for a microphone that cost more than $1000? for rap vocals
Im curious about your thoughts on Reaper for vocal production specifically !!!! Pleaseee make a video on that?! I have Reaper but im low key thinking of switching to Studio One. But i dont want to spend unecessarily if senpai shows me the Reaper way LOL
Where did you go to school to learn this? Are you self-taught? You are better than my Studio Production, instructor, when I was getting my 2nd master's in Seattle Film Institute.
Is there a quick ProTools tip or technique (maybe show it on TH-cam...) where I can re-record a portion of the verse over without doing the whole thing over again?
My brother i need some help I bad I’ve been learning from u for years im an artist ambit i build my own studio bedroom studio now and im stepping up my game nheavy I just feel like I’m stuck now my music is banging but I can’t make it sound much better
Damn I'll have to recommend this to that artist who just recorded on a beat of mine he really dont know yet how to be professional durin this process.. I love to send them these tutorials even if I dont even record myself still happen to watch some occasionally.. thank you for explaining it so well they gonna understand it right away that's just perfect 😇🥰 keep it up spreading the sauce 😂🔥
I use a zoom r8 to record, because 20 years ago when I rapped I used a tascam Porta studio. I have a behringer condenser 🎤 , the vocals sound weak and low, but I rap hype so it peaks. Is there anyway I can make the vocals more strong or full
Wavy Wayne you are so right when you work with artist it’s soo important to say the good first then let them know how to make it better on the next take 😂😂
Can you do a video about hardware vs the digital plugins that emulate them? been debating about saving for an actual tube tech cl1b or just getting the plug in vice versa. I see the UAD distressor and teletronix compressors.. what made you get those rather than other compressors or hardware?
Sweetwater helps to support the Wavy Gang when you shop studio gear using this link!!

Thanks fam!
Which classes did you watch please let me know
@@GixnlyI got the same question
Acoustically treat a closet with foam, turn your interface down to peak at about-6, record about 4 to 6 inches away from the mic ,it works wonders
you know you're a professional producer when the artists you work with appear on Wikipedia 😂😂
OMG the first half of this video is exactly why I stopped going to the studio...the engineers never have any etiquette. Chasing the feeling is what I been seeking. Now I innerstand.
Ok , as a middle aged man being in studio’s and recording vocals myself , the best producers have done exactly what you said you do ! Thanks again
I went to school for this and Wayne has taught me more in one TH-cam sitting then I learned in a month in college , thank you Wayne
