It's actually become depressingly formulaic. I'm glad you like it because Larry David is a genius, but if you'd watched it in real time from the first season to the present, you'd see that it's gotten much, much worse.
Josh Done I only discovered Curb after they went off the air. Then they came back and I thought it was good, not the best season, but still better than most series’. This season is loads better, though. I’m actually excited for every episode to drop.
After watching seasons 1-8 a ton of time, I was hugely disappointed with season 9. As Johs said, they're too formulaic. The spontaneity is gone. Actors feel like they've gone from improvising to bad script acting. Scenes are trying too hard to be curb-your-enthusiasmy. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something huge missing in seasons 9 and 10 compared to the earlier seasons.
She probably should have just let Ted know first thing that Larry was there. Letting him walk further in while just saying "No! Wait!" is insanely suspicious.
I’m from UK and in 1993 I visited my uncle in the states and he took me to a Baltimore Orioles game during Cal Ripken’s streak. My one and only baseball game 🙂 good point about the brushing teeth streak though, you don’t want to sacrifice that just because you forgot your toothbrush!
I moved to Baltimore from NYC in 1994 and had never heard of Cal Ripken. Baltimore is such a sports/working class town. They ALL loved the Orioles and Cal Ripken.
I love curb your enthusiasm, I genuinely do... it's one of my favourite programmes and one of the best American comedies ever made. What it seems to prove again and again is just how prissy and stuck up these rich people are...the slightest little thing offends them and freaks them out. From a British perspective, it's quite strange because we tend to internalise social things. Larry David, both real and exaggerated is a true comedy giant.
