and it sounds pretty contrived, in this context. With that said, writing dialogue for child actors can be tough, because it's often too hard to eliminate the grown-up perspective of the screenwriters producing it.
This is the only episode where I felt like Larry was the most sane person. If a kid is more into sewing than a football, get them a sewing machine. It's not forcing a sexuality on a child to give them a toy that they enjoy playing with.
I'm a straight man, 34 years old. When I was a boy, I was at a family gathering and one of my female cousins had a barbie doll. This wasn't a regular barbie doll though. It had a bloated belly and if you flipped it the right direction, out came a baby and the belly went flat. That doll is a collectable these days but that's beside the point. As a young boy with no dolls, I still wanted that god damn barbie doll. I loved things that transformed back then, in particular Power Ranger Zords, and later Beastwars. I had no interest in dolls, but in my mind this babie doll was essentially a transformer. One moment it's pregnant, and next moment it's got a baby. That was cool in my mind. I requested that barbie doll on my Christmas list. I never got it and I think it's because my mum and dad thought it was a "gay turning" toy to give to a boy. I highly doubt getting that toy would have influenced my sexuality. Oh well.
“What are you trying to turn him gay!?” The look on Larry’s face at 2:30 says “lady, that boy is as gay as they come and you know it, embrace it and let him sew” 😂 Larry’s a good guy
This episode is a prime example of why Larry David (the character) is the most glorious trainwreck on television. The absurdity of a man, a Jew, being invited into someone's home, and within five seconds of being unattended flips open the nearest magazine and starts drawing swastikas, is so ridiculous that you have no other choice but to go along with it.
I've never seen this show but I literally cried when the swastika pattern appeeared on the pillow sham. Holy crap that was hilarious and just perfectly presented. WIll have to check this show out

I've been on set with untrained child actors and this is the way it goes. Then in post they will have to redub the audio. There are better child actors who actually have to remember lines and do long takes flawlessly.

This kid is priceless, already completely comfortable in his skin!!! Kids should be able to express themselves and explore their creativity no matter what direction it takes them in.
Hahha yes, Larry is quite the role model here. NOT discouraging nazi-like behavior in children...but instead making them feel “comfortable”, providing a “safe space” for their minds to ruminate on the lameness of Jews.
planet 4 Picked up the nazi thing on accident....are you shrooming, dude? Larry was doodling swastikas as the kid looked on. It’s a funny bit but let’s not frame it as some sort of “win” for modern identity politics
He might not be gay though who knows.. he might just be an outstanding actor. Sometimes the child actors start a little flamboyant like that and I think larry actually just ran with it lol... Who gives a shit if hes gay... I just wanna see if he's a broad actor or if he was just type casted lolo
There's a generally consistent rule that the quality of a production is inversely proportional to how many children are involved. Exceptions like this are rare as hell, and this one is golden!
Bobby Robertson If thats your point, then what does it have to do with this at all. Answer truthfully- do you actually think that child acting should be illegal and its not just because its filmed? Because if you dont think that then none of what you said was necessary
bossfan49 why did you assume it was a performance. I don’t think i’ve ever seen a child make such a performance. I’m pretty sure this is just how he is
Actually he's a swastika rehabilitator. He likes a symbol that for millennia meant and still means good luck and best wishes. Buddhist, Hinduists, and Jains use swastikas extensively.
The brilliance of Larry David in a few minutes. I first thought the "pillow sham" line alone was the joke, as it would be on any other show, and I was already laughing. Then when it was unfolded, genius!
for me it wasn’t Larry getting the sewing machine but not telling Greg that the Nazi sign is a no no lmao it could’ve ended with him having a great time with her lol super funny thought
I don't know about him being the most convincing child actor ever, but he's got a really nice balance between believable and not creepy. With most child actors they're either terrible, or they're scray good but often have some serious personality issues from the pressures of acting alongside that. This kid seems very concious and aware of the humor of the scene, in on the joke, and he's able to act in a way that's not creepy levels of good where you feel uncomfortable or suspect he's a brat in reality. He hit some magic balance where you love his acting ability and feel confident he's a cool little dude.
This is probably a case where less is more. Keep in mind he was only in the show for about 3 1/2 minutes. They were memorable minutes. But if we saw him all the time he’d overstay his welcome.
@ 00:48... that is OUTSTANDING !!!! LOVE the pose when he says ".. yes- I do!" He was so 'reflective'... what a great young actor,... so funny! I wonder what he'll be doing when he grows up.

"That's an understatement."😂😂😂
This is one of the best child actors I've ever seen.
This kid is priceless, already completely comfortable in his skin!!! Kids should be able to express themselves and explore their creativity no matter what direction it takes them in.
No matter what direction? What if they start sewing swastikas in their clothes?
@@matmcd good take
@@matmcd Maybe! Who says a swastika cant be fabulous? Could be a sanskrit, asian, aryan & gay fusion that just pops.
Larry made the kid comfortable and happy. I like Larry.
Evan says "Shut the fuck up."
Hahha yes, Larry is quite the role model here. NOT discouraging nazi-like behavior in children...but instead making them feel “comfortable”, providing a “safe space” for their minds to ruminate on the lameness of Jews.
planet 4
Picked up the nazi thing on accident....are you shrooming, dude? Larry was doodling swastikas as the kid looked on. It’s a funny bit but let’s not frame it as some sort of “win” for modern identity politics

Swing and a miss....
That scream when he found he got a sewing machine as a birthday gift. Priceless!
Lightest sewing machine I’ve ever seen
My 23-year-old nephew Keith screams like this! But only when he drops a stitch while sewing. He just lost his 11-year-old pal Freddie.
Boy is adorable and very precocious. I love CYE!
Jonathan Greenblatt needs this kid in his life.
Lmfao greg does like old creeps apparently 😮😂
That kid is an amazing actor. Either that or I have some news for his parents.
i bet they already know
He might not be gay though who knows.. he might just be an outstanding actor. Sometimes the child actors start a little flamboyant like that and I think larry actually just ran with it lol... Who gives a shit if hes gay... I just wanna see if he's a broad actor or if he was just type casted lolo
Lee Hearts I got some news for your mama
Lee Hearts I got news for your mama.
Exactly what I was thinking XD
Scenes with kids rarely make me laugh, but I found this one hilarious!
There's a generally consistent rule that the quality of a production is inversely proportional to how many children are involved.
Exceptions like this are rare as hell, and this one is golden!
Bobby Robertson How privileged are you to compare acting to child labor and PROSTITUTION, the kid is acting, and obviously having fun with it.
Bobby Robertson If thats your point, then what does it have to do with this at all. Answer truthfully- do you actually think that child acting should be illegal and its not just because its filmed? Because if you dont think that then none of what you said was necessary
So true
Yeah.the gays give me a chuckle too when i c them try to do normal people things.
This kid is literally one of the best actors that’s been on this show
Best comedic performance by a child actor I've ever seen. Great writing helps too, but this kid nailed it.
Writing? Curb is improvised.
GeorgeUK84 Some of his dialogue is clearly dubbed over, which was probably written. He was probably also given lines to say since he is a child
bossfan49 why did you assume it was a performance. I don’t think i’ve ever seen a child make such a performance. I’m pretty sure this is just how he is
This kid is the cutest little Hitler Youth I've ever seen.
Really?
You never saw him in "Cabaret"?
@@elgintv Jojo Rabbit: Origin Story
666!
Actually he's a swastika rehabilitator. He likes a symbol that for millennia meant and still means good luck and best wishes. Buddhist, Hinduists, and Jains use swastikas extensively.
@@dottore3870 the one used by nazis was different from the symbol of the sun, tbf
The brilliance of Larry David in a few minutes. I first thought the "pillow sham" line alone was the joke, as it would be on any other show, and I was already laughing. Then when it was unfolded, genius!
The “Dorthy” and “thank you Larry” takes me out every time. This kid should have got an Emmy.
Poor Larry. The nicer he is to people, the worser it backfires 😂
Just like real life, it seems like sometimes lol
No good deed goes unpunished.
for me it wasn’t Larry getting the sewing machine but not telling Greg that the Nazi sign is a no no lmao it could’ve ended with him having a great time with her lol super funny thought
Worser? Isn't a word
bad, worse, worst. These are your options
Tying the swastika into the hand made gift at the end of the scene was pure writing genius
As if the fact that this flaming child made a pillow sham for Suzie wasnt hilarious enough bahahaha!!
Every episode of curb is writing genius
The look on Larry's face when he is given the "credit" for the idea.
1. it's not tilted
2. came from india/asia
3. "GET A LIFE, JEWS"
I saw this coming. It was hilarious anyways.
….. Are you trying to make him gay ?…. I peed my pants laughing 😂
this child actor is hysterical, and his interaction with Larry is the awesome. "get a life jews"! LOL
This kid is such a good actor it's amazing.
Maybe he’s not acting!
He’s faaaaaaabulous!
Amer Nivek nope
Dat ProGuy no there's not
This kid was phenomenal. He hit the mark on every line. Some of the best comedic acting I've ever seen from anyone of any age.

Larry legit trying not to crack up at the "Get a life Jews!" line 😂😂
"GET A LIFE JEWS" haha brilliant
"He thought they were a bit much" is such a funny line to me.
Yeah, reminds me of a joke Mel Brooks would do
This is probably my favorite clip of any tv show I've ever seen. Beautiful lol :D
I’ve been watching these clips for a couple days… I gotta see this show 😂😂😂😂😂
You should it’s so funny 😂 trust me .
It’s amazing
"Thank you, Lord!"
"Thank you, Lord?! Thank you, Larry!"
Calliope Carion I know right
Thank you, Laaaaaarry!
also my best part!
I want Larry and Greg to have their own show.
They clicked well together for sure.... a big daddy scenario would be good or something similar
Actually, Larry, Gregg, and Leon all living together as roommates would be the best show EVER!
@@wthomas5697 That sucks!
Yes!
“He thought they were a bit much” lol
that kid is a talented actor
Lol isn't he though lol
