Wife’s first car was a 1967 Cyclone 390 4 speed manual, she was a terror at stop lights everywhere! We had some great times driving that car! She never did let me drive it!! Thanks Lou!

This 1969 Mercury Cyclone GT looks stunning in that bright Medium Metallic Blue! But the most impressive thing is that this car has been with its original owner for almost 55 years! I love that Fastback-style rear look (with those three rear gills, or slits), gently descending to the rear trunk. Which, by the way, in this model the rear window is almost in a vertical position. The white interior combination is beautiful; with those nice, comfortable seats and, of course, the elegant wood-trimmed console and steering wheel. Those original papers and cards from the trunk are very well preserved (special mention for the curious photograph taken in 1971). Congratulations to Mr. Knudson for deciding to restore this Cyclone to its former glory; after his last drive in 1976! Best regards, Lou!

Wow! What a rare vehicle. I have always liked that generation of Cyclone even though my Dad owned a 1968 Torino GT fastback (gulf stream aqua with black c stripe). Stunning color combo of dark blue and white interior with a white stripe. That design was so understated with those sculptured fender flares and subtle changes in front and rear over the Torino. Once again, Lou, you just work the best on your channel. I must say that even the cars that I don't like (like a recent Camaro with horrific non-stock tire and wheel combo) are worth documenting for future generations who grow up thinking making a lawnmower engined Honduh into a raspy, noisy, low riding Rice Burner are high points in automobilia. Thanks for all the work you do - it is obvious you love what you do and we appreciate you for it!

One fact is the 69 Cyclone was know as the Fastback model for the Sportsroof did not come out till 1970. I owned a 1971 Torino Gt that was a Spotsroof model.
I love this car. And with a 390. One of the best from Ford. I can't stop watching this video. Chuck, if you're interested, I volunteer to be the second owner!!!😅
68 and 69 were the Ford Motor Company's best years. The cars they put out in those years looked great and were the best in quality. The Cyclone was in the sports car of the Montego line. My dad had a 69 Montego that he bought brand new. He later became a salesman for a Ford dealership. He let me use his car while I was on my initial active duty in the Air Force Reserve. I drove it while stationed at Chanute AFB, Ilinois. It was a great car. The Cyclone probably would have gotten me in trouble being the hot rod version of the Montego. I did watch a couple of guys drag race their cars one afternoon, the cars were a 69 Mercury Cyclone and a 70 Dodge Super Bee. The race came out a tie, from what I could see. The judgment of the crowd of spectators picking the winner came down to which guy was his friend. I think the better driver was in the Super Bee, but the better car was the Cyclone. That was probably why it ended in a tie.
