Thanks for the clarification on the model names. I was confused to hear the term “F1” thrown around when some models had F in their name and others didn’t.
You can just clean the MAF with some MAF cleaner. Its actually my preferred way to fix those because the new ones never seem to work as well as the old ones and on 90’s cars the part numbers are always hit or miss. I know the money isn’t the issue, but cleaning it saves a lot of time and hassle as it only takes about 5 minutes and in my experience fixes it about 90% of the time on cars that have been sitting and/or are super low mileage. One tip is you have to take the MAF portion out of the tube to really get it clean.
@Josh: that's your Alfa Giulia Veloce out there ?? Nice car, you gotta love the handling and agility of that car !! Mine is Montecarlo Blue, 2020 model.

@@tysimon I want to upgrade to the QF next year...but I might want a 4C even more. I drive SO much, it is too many miles for a QF. So I may suffer a cheap car most days and make up for it when I can, with a 4C 😁
Dan, did Josh already asked you to clone the SD1 laptop hard drive to have a backup? Don't need to tell you how reliable a mechanical hard drive from the 90s is. You can get a Flash Card to IDE adapter for that laptop, way more reliable. I use them a lot in my retro laptops :)
Can you ask Josh if the Leonardo can access the Air Bag ECU to reset? I have a 1999 355 manual that our Leonardo will not communicate with Air Bag ECU to reset light. If needed we can track down a SD1, but this would explain why we cant access the ECU (it just wont read it). Thank you!
@@exoticpower8073 thank you, ecu is hard to get currently. I was told to try to change out to clock spring as well which I already have. ? Any reason you didn't attempt to clean the MAF Sensor with MAF cleaner considering the car had been sat 2 years and could have dirt on it not being moved by air flow? ?

The problem is without all this diagnostics, we're flying blind. This is arguable one of the most critical parts of the entire rebuild. So yes I'm going to show it and yes there's some discussion about old computer systems, but that's very important to understand as a F355 owner. If you take it to a shop that doesn't have the right computer systems or knowledge, you're potentially going to get a bad service.

We didn’t have MAF cleaner is the primary reason. I suppose we could have bought some vs buying a MAF, but water under the bridge now
