Hello from India 🇮🇳 ,Congrats. It is a great complex 3:28 posture. But with Your Artistc skills and Talent, You created a Masterpiece. Congrats and Best of Luck 💐
liked and subscribed - This video deserves more views!!!! There's a 3 meter tall stone female figure being worked on here by my female colleague - so I know what you're going through. The one here is only limestone, not marble - and no wings. That's quite a project you have going - and great production value on the video as well.
Thank you, I did get into this consequently, drawing since my childhood, than than drawing classes, than fine art university than moving close the stone quarries in Italy, and learning to carve as an autodidacte. greetings :)
Most of the Renaissance masters relied heavily on apprentices and helpers, I feel like modern artists have more of their hands in their work than most back then because these tools have gotten rid of the need for helpers, or worse slaves in the classical world. The scale of work one person can do nowadays has gone up, but the craft is not diminished in my opinion when modern artists use modern, but still analog tools.
This video possesses a separate and complimentary power to the sculpture itself, and explores the intimate relationship between the artist and her work. In fact it inspired me to assemble a song. th-cam.com/video/z4IhuQcgY_g/w-d-xo.html I believe in a very Platonic sense that the work of art pre-exists its material rendering and that the artist is more conduit or medium than whole-cloth initiator. So I happen to take Michelangelo's assertion quite literally, that he is on a salvific mission to free the angel trapped within the stone. This is not to trivialize the honed craft of these gifted artists. On the contrary, it elevates their function to an even higher calling. Just my two cents...
Advice from a stone Mason, go best when getting breathing apparatus, my lungs are 1/4 full of granite, sandstone and marble...yours is good but good isn't best.
Thank you for your comments, I use respirator all the time, I took it off just for the video shot, so you can see me in the face. greetings and best wishes
@@veronikabianchi good, always make sure when taking it off that there are not two streaks of stone dust to the sides of your nose as that means it's getting in, marble is worse then sandstone for getting into tiny gaps....I both loved and hated working with marble, it shows bruises easily comparred to other stones...I still have some basic items I created from careers like bowl, pen holder, turtle but my injury stopped my career, 1400lb of granite, now my weight capacity is 15lbs which you know is insufficient for anything stone related....how much did the raw block cost?, did you go and select it personally or are you governed by the stone they select matching your dimensions?
There is something in the hand gesture and the stance of the body that expresses to me an embracing spiritual warmth and patience .
Exactly Ros, you named something I couldn't formulate with words, but that's what I wanted to express.
Your right, just something..

dear Rick, I always wear the mask, I just took it off for this video shooting, so you could also see me in the face.
