Hi can ask please when roughing the stone what distance from the final surface do l maintain to avoid removing too much material.

Hi Robert. That depends. If you have a 1:1 model and you are using some pointing machine (pantograph) you can go directly to the final layer. But in this case i didn't have a model and it was bigger dimension, so i took off part after part, checking and controlling from all angles. I like to let at least 1cm reserve layer and take it slowly off. I try to do it carefully but it still happens that i take too much. The best tool to use is the pointing machine if possible...
